My boss's regular place as it is nearby our Chennai office, stayed here for 3 days. An average location, an okay place. Great chinese restaurant but. I had a double room to my self, two single beds, a not so cool working fridge, okay tv, ac, broken cupboard. Room service was bad, n one came on time. Room needs to be freshened up in style a bit more. The cupboard rod broke, as soon as I hung my jacket. There was no water, tea making stuff except a cup. Called up for it thrice. Wifi has such a poor connectivity.Overall-it is okay for quick business travellers.

I had booked this hotel for my in-laws & was worried of obvious reasons. However, the hotel was very good. the staff is co-operative. Manager Mr. Elango was at the best & assured everything went fine..

when the company with which I work booked me here, my reaction was oriental Inn????????
I made a cross check on trip advisor and the negative comments( which I always check) were not too bad. So I went ahead.
I have to say that I can give an average rating for the this hotel... among those of the same type eventhough it is a sort of bed and breakfast type.
The driver needed a bit of guidance from the hotel ( he seemed to know it ultimately) and the check in was smooth.
The room i had was deluxe and I had nothing to complain except that the flush didnot work properly and I had to ask for the hot water to turned on. of course no hot water in the shower.There was a kettle in the room for morning coffee; however somebody seems to have made tea in it and all the tea leaves were sticking in. The housekeeping never bothered to check and clean it and I ended up drinking coftea in the morning.
The room is basic with ac and tv ( which was too far away and small to see properly for an old man like me lying down in bed). It was clean ( they could have been a bit more careful behind the side table - I had to fish around there for the connection to the bed light).
Room service was prompt with coffee and breakfast of egg and toast (which is always served in the room since they have no dining hall). For other things they depend restaurants nearby. This allowed me to taste the mexican food from the nearby Hot Bread outlet which was acceptable.
The food from China Town and Copper chimney both of which belong to them can be ordered on room seervice which is expensive.
Will I go back??? It is a question left unanswered for the time being.

Booked for deluxe but provided standard room. On demanding no rooms. Paying before hand puts us to trouble. Vety poor as far as interiors are concerned. Most furnitures are broken.
With such facilities we feel booking online is bad.

Hotel offer free transportation to the Visa Application center and the consulate by Auto. Free Wifi is provided with decent speed. Breakfast was served in the room. Had limited options because of it. A tea/coffee maker was missing and could have been use full.

We stayed in Hotel Oriental Inn as it is very nearer to the US Consulate. We had booked the Deluxe room. The persons at the reception reminded me that I can get a 15 % Corporate discount (they are having almost 100 companies tie-ups) if I showed my ID Card which is really nice. If you need to go to the US Consulate and looking for a budgeted hotel, this hotel is the best choice. The hotel also provides free drop service to US & OFC . I was here for a day and half for US Visa Interview. Located very close to US OFC (Around 3 kms) and US Consulate (10 mins walk). Rooms are clean and well maintained. The complimentary breakfast provided is good. so once you are done with the visa process, you can pull in a bit of shopping if needed. Another interesting fact is that the place is close to 3 major malls,. The staff is very helpful. All are AC rooms with 24 Hrs hot water facilities. 24 hours check-in check out. Rooms are good and clean, housekeeping is good and room service nice Chinese and north Indian food also good.

It was my first visit in chennai & footed in Oriental Inn, but got disappointed with room size. Also @12 night they clearly denied for any food they can provide to me
Rest of the things are OK.
Location is good, but the entrance is from the back n hotel is bit conjusted.
They really need renovation.

Location for the hotel is very good. rooms are decent. Cleanliness is not as good, but passable. Little or no toiletries are provided. wifi is ok, but you will need to ask the reception 3 or 4 times to reset.

Manager very ill-mannered. Despite a 3 month continuous stay, the manager had the audacity to misbehave. Towards the end, my room was not cleaned for 5 days despite repeated requests. I have stayed in hotels all over the world, but have never been met with such uncouth behaviour. I have still half a mind to take this up in a consumer court as it goes against every grain of customer service. And after having given them over 4-5 lakhs! That is the irony.

Hi, Mr. Ashish sorry for the inconvenience which ended as a unpleasant stay for you. Although you stayed for 3 months and checked out @ 18th of august 2014 and writing a review about our hotel after 3 months from your departure shows little unfair from you. If the manager is not behaving well no one will stay @ the same hotel for three months. We apologize that the AC was not working in your room, Although we have given a solution to stay in another room for your comfort. Actually we have charged for double occupancy still you stayed as three for last 10 days from your departure. room stinks and is pretty ordinary. location of the hotel is execellent and that is the only good point about the palce.view from the rooms are not great. i got a room which had door which opens from some other room wifi is free becoz wifi does not work.. bathroom do not have simple door mats.
