Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
The location is superb almost across Dr. MGR Chennai Central Railway Station with easy access to metro stations and bus stops. The staff are quite friendly. The room had clean sheets and a decent bathroom. However, that is about it all. The property is quite ill maintained. The walls in the rooms were feeling wet probably due to water seepage in to the concrete. It looks (but may not necessarily be) dusty almost everywhere and maintains a 'moth eaten look everywhere from the Reception onward. The buffet breakfast was sort of sketchy but passable. If the management makes a serious effort with regard to the upkeep of the building, it should be an attractive option for any one visiting Chennai while arriving by by train.

Under renovation. Room service or housing are not up to the mark. Complimentary break fast just ok. Food curd rice just ok. Hospitality is just okay. Restaurant ambience good service just average. Vegetarian food just ok. Centrally located.

Hotel Royal Regency Chennai, is located at walking distance from chennai central railway station as well as Chennai Egmore station. Good place to stay and good value for money. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. would definetly recommened to others for stay only.
Dont go for food specially lunch and Dinner. Breakfast is OK.

We arrived to the entrance steps full of people just sitting outside. The room was grubby and smelled damp. The lining of the curtains was torn in several places. The toilet hadn't been cleaned properly and the sink wasn't cleaned properly. Although we got vouchers for WiFi, it didn't connect. The room is next to a noisy road and the other guests were sat outside in the hallway, talking loudly from 6am. We asked for a refund but have been told we have to dispute it with the company who's site we used. We didn't stay for the four nights booked, but left after one night....we arrived at 9.30pm The reviews showing 5/5 are false reviews. Don't use this hotel.

The Hotel looks good and expensive from outside, when you get into the room, the bad managements gets exposed I had good luck to get a room replaced at 1245 Hrs. TV hardly works Phone looks shabby, Bathroom better don't ask. The staff are very good but the maintenance by the management is too bad. except the staff nothing is worth mentioning. Please check the room before check in and clarify every informations.

The Royal Regency Hotel is situated in heart of Chennai. It is a very good hotel. It is situated between Egmore Station and Chennai Central and is at a walkable distance. The nearest local station is Park and egmore stations. The Restaurant is good and offers quality food and beverages. Opposite the hotel there are few other hotels serving food etc. Nearby the Hotel you have travel offices for booking tours to various places in tamilnadu and nearby states.

Very decent hotel with polite staffs. Rooms were excellent with good facilities. Very near by to the railway station and easily accessible to all near by places. Would recommend to people looking for a peace of mind and business class.

It may have been the wrong time of the year, but the foul smell from the Coom river below our Hotel window was too much to bear, despite the air-conditioning, as the windows were not air tight. We decided to change Hotels the next day.

It is situated at walking distance from Central Railway Station(on Poonamallee High Road). Best part is it has got 24 hrs. check out time. The hotel also serves complimentary buffet breakfast. The hotel has got some loop holes also like maximum T.V. channels are regional(Tamil) and the area and locality of the hotel is not good. The room services are quite good. Overall its a good bet to stay.
