stayed here on 12/12/05 for layover from frankfurt flight to chennai; approx 1 hour from airport; very clean room with western toilet; fabulous complimentary breakfast buffet; had booked room via choicehotels website without a hitch; didn't have time for sight seeing so can't comment on location in relation to the city; would stay here again; spent approx $48 US for one night stay for two peoples with two beds.

Stayed at this property in march 2014 with a friend. Very convenient location. Excellent Rooms. Service was good too.All in all comfortable stay. Located Near Railway station.

Ah, this review is for the buffet offered at the restaurant. From starters to main course everything holds so much variety that once will simply be confused what to eat and what not to eat.
The deserts served are awesome i still can feel the strawberry cake...awesome.
Its value for money...in the cuisines you will have a mix of south Indian; Chinese; north Indian and Mughlai... The food, the place , the presentation is a perfection....
A friendly suggestion...avoid eating too much because it may make you wait a little more at the restaurant....just kidding..

Should have closed hotel when heavy repair is on. There was ear-breaking loud noise of drill within the room all through the day. Could not watch TV, talk or sleep. No towels. Wash room taps broken. The Lady-Manager sounded helpless and paid no heed to our complaints.

I always stay at this hotel when I'm in Chennai. It is central and price is competetive. Now in Chennai prices are going up a lot . The staff here is very nice . Now there is a expresso machine. This is great news because it make you feel morr home . The restaurant is poor offer but it seems in 3 month there is new restaurant and pool and spa. Hoe prices will not go up .

The same items for the buffet lunch on sunday were repeated for dinner and again on Monday for lunch and dinner. Economizing perhaps. Food lacks taste and service bad. Attendants at the reception lack training.

Was a good clean Hotel, room service was good, breakfast was good....little more items could have been better. Wi-fi was free, although didn't tried it. Main USP was being it's nearness to Chennai Central Railway Station, and city centre. Overall can stay there again.

I have always stayed in this Hotel whenever I am in Chennai. Although the bathrooms are old fashioned and need renovation like now but the hotel offers you with a very large room at an affordable price. The check in smooth as always and you enter a grand lobby. The coffee shop is just opposite to the reservation desk so even if there is a waiting time for check in or check out, you may relax at the coffee shop. It serves the best coffee available in Chennai.
The rooms welcome you with assorted set of nuts and chips. The breakfast is the most lavish one which leaves you with the best king size breakfast you will ever have. The view from the room is also breathtaking, you can see the marina beach from the large window of the room. The room service is like super quick.
Staying in Marina is the best bet with food and the room. The hotel is located in Egmore thus you are actually in the heart of the city and hop to any place from here.
Worth staying considering the prices offered for the service.

Me and my friend stayed at the Comfort Inn Marina Towers and it was fantastic. Our room was huge (apparently the hotel boasts the biggest rooms in Chennai) and we had a plasma TV with cable.
The room had all the ammenities that we could have asked for with complementary water and tea and coffee facitilites. The room was clean and the service was great.
The bathroom was clean with a large shower and really nifty toiletries. Along with the usual little bottles of shampoo and body lotion, the hotel also had little bottles of sandalwood talcum, mouthwash, coconut oil and aftershave, which I thought was a neat idea!. However, the shower curtain was a little small and so the water would spill around the rest of the bathroom if we weren't careful!
The rooms also had built in safe, but the safe in our room didn't work and therefore we decided to use the hotel's main vault to store our valuables. The hotel's restaurant is a buffet style restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in this manner. The spread was fantastic, and it was great becuase it allowed us to try out all the different types of Indian food. We were warned to be careful with food and water before we travelled to India, but the hotel allowed us to try local cuisine without that worry. I'm not sure whether you can order a la carte, but there was a 24 hour room service faciltiy which was very reasonably priced.
Location wise, the hotel was quite central. It's about 5 mins tuk tuk drive away from Spencer Plaza ( a famous shopping mall) and about 20 mins tuk tuk drive away from T. Nager ( a famous shopping street for sari's and other Indian attire)
The only downside was that the hotel overlooks a grotesque lake around which there is a large shanty community. The lake emits a putrid smell, but becuase the hotel is closed the smell is not an issue. However once you venture outside it's DEFINATELY EVIDENT.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, from the porter to the waiters in the restaurant. All in all I loved the hotel and would definately recommend it to anyone travelling to Chennai.

They have bath tub in even general deluxe room. How can they be bad? I hear people in even give star will tell you "only the club class will have bathtubs". Add if bath tub is such a
prohibitively luxury item general deluxe can not have it. But marina had different philosophy. They believe in good value for money. Their non veg food, their breakfast are quite good. Staffs are friendly. Location is good. They have no pretension. They are simple people serving you with smile.
