Liked: Located in one of the best residential areas of Chennai. Calm, quiet and leafy area. The Chennai traditional filter-coffee during breakfast is authentic.
Disliked · Wi-fi was pathetic despite several complaints. Service was very average mainly due to shortage of staff. Very limited choice in breakfast.

As a frequent traveler to Chennai, my requirements of an hotel/guest house are comfortable rooms, good location, attentive service, flexible check in/out timings, work area/meeting place and nice homely food. Niketana is a boutique guest house and it scores on all these counts. Will recommedn it strongly to felow business travelers to Chennai.

Nice homely place to stay in a a wonderful neighborhood of Chennai. You feel that you are staying at someone's home and it is wonderful to walk along the street in the morning. I really recommend this place. Internet connections are wonderful.

First time I stayed at Niketana and the ambience is breath taking and nice clean rooms. Stay was very comfortable - Food quality for breakfast needs to improve - quality wise and service wise. The restaurants are stone throw distance from NIKETANA and a morning walk in Boat Club area roads gives you the right kind of energy to start your day - so peaceful this location is.

This hotel is in a porsche area with beautiful surroundings and also nearby to the light house on marina beach san thomas church. It has very comfortable rooms and professional staff with their high quality of services. The inside of the hotel is very quiet and free from the noise . Had a very pleasant stay there.

Tucked away in a discrete nook in one of Chennai’s most upscale localities, Niketana is an excellent value home stay. My family and I found the amenities good and the staff super attentive and courteous. Our host Mr. Joseph, who has been renovating the place with really nice nods to the heritage and history of the city, was grace personified. He went out of his way to give us the pick of the accommodations and made we felt completely at home. Highly recommend staying there. Excellent value, great homely atmosphere and super courteous staff made our stay there extremely memorable.

This is now my favorite place to stay in Chennai. I am truly sorry we discovered Niketana as late as we did. Mr Joseph, the proprietor is an incredible human being who has been so generous and accommodating of every request. He even assigned a newly renovated room to my father when we last stayed at his enchanting property!
The staff headed by Mr Manikandan (the manager) are very friendly, thoroughly professional, and super helpful. They attend promptly to service requests, and went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was pleasant. They look after the property and guests like we would our own home and family. A big shoutout to the Niketana team!
The rooms are gorgeous. Every piece of furniture from the bed to the dressing mirror and the cupboard (with it's vintage style opening mechanism) is curated with love, and could all belong in the pages of a fancy interior magazine.
This is an elegant and warm mansion, one anyone would be lucky to specify as their address, even if only for the duration of their holiday. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NIKETANA!

I want to express A big Thank you to Mr. Joseph and team for making my 1 day stay amazing at Niketana@boat club. All the staff members were excellent - Manikandan made everything go smoothly, even helped by going extra mile when I arrived and departed. Food was great. Selection and quality was very much appreciated. The staff is one of best parts of staying at Niketana. Everyone is very thoughtful and caring to ensure that you are enjoying your stay. I would definitely go again to experience zen like environment😇

An unbelievable experience in ambience, care & service is what " Niketana" is all about. Location, perhaps, while in Chennai, no better. Attitude of all the staff especially, Mr Mani, warrants a special mention. So supportive & caring yet not intrusive. All this at a extremely reasonable rate.
