There is no restaurant on this hotel as promote don its website. It is a pity because when its raining the streets are all under the water and going out when its raining is unpleasant. It looks like the guy in charge does not like to work/help, he is an italian whom does not speak english or spanish. Communication was difficult. As a good thing I can say the place is clean ans we slept well! The lady in charge or cleaning the place is very kind!
I loved my stay in Bocas, the hotel was placed at a good location, walking distance to everything, the staff is super nice and service minded and the beds were really comfortable. The hanging area, super super nice and it’s right by the ocean so you can bath whenever you want, fun to jump from the second floor🤪 I would recommend the hotel to everyone!
The hotel is stunning! The room is very beautiful, clean and spacious. There is a air conditioner in the room and the Wifi is working great. The locations is very good, close to the center and to a big grocery shop but in a quiet place. Dani, the hotel owner is very kind and helps with everything you need. Also, there is gorgeous view to the sea and you can see from the hotel the most beautiful sunsets. Very recommended!!!
If you are used to staying at the Hilton, then this is not right for you. But if you travel third world countries much, then you have experienced much worse than this hotel. Hotel Olas is all you need in Bocas Town, They have daily maid service, plenty of hot water in the shower, breakfast on the deck overlooking a gorgeous view of the Bocas Marina, and a perfect location for exploring the rest of the town, or booking adventures "under the sea" at several businesses only blocks away. The AC worked perfectly and the bed was comfortable. What else do you need?
The rooms are fairly small with weird sewage line smells. My boyfriend could barely sleep because of the strong smell of cat pee constantly irking him. The beds are really uncomfortable. Our sheets were clean which is a good thing and the air conditioning worked. The WiFi was not working very well for me though. The fire alarm had been taken out and I guess they put like toilet paper in it for some bazar reason which was a little concerning. It was clean but most certainly not worth the $50+ price.
Had high hopes for this place, but they were definitely not met. Would have been satisfactory at hostel prices, but not at hotel prices. Young man at reception one evening was friendly, as well as the ladies running the kitchen for breakfast...others were quite short and seemed inconvenienced by anyone approaching the desk. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. Whole room smelled like an outhouse if the bathroom door was not kept closed. Sheets and towels were stained and bleach spotted, and sheets were not changed in our 4 day stay. Breakfast was ok, but they were out of some of the items for multiple days. The night “guard” slept on the deck and didn’t even flinch when we walked out there in the early morning, and all guest room doors are accessible without any key or code (each door has a key, but no entryway). Had we not been propositioned for “Smoke? Blow? Good weed, good coke” every evening within steps of the hotel (as well as all over Bocas), maybe this wouldn’t be as much of a concern. Close to the main strip without the noise, otherwise I would not call it a good location. The bar/deck area over the water was the one possible redeeming feature, with a view toward the sunset with many boats in the bay, and a few hammocks to use. However, this is quickly ruined by the smell of sewage coming in with the breeze. Even if one can get past this, a peaceful evening is broken up by the on duty reception staff person watching tv/videos at full volume on a phone with no regard for guests attempting to relax here.…
This is an okay place to stay. It’s really close to where you want to be and is right on the water with some pretty awesome views of ships etc. it is very clean but a bit run down. Clean towels and room make up if you want. We stayed 5 nights and was very quiet except for our last night which was a Saturday night. Air conditioner was bang on no complaints at all. Hot water was hit and miss but even on a miss it was still useable. Not overly helpful staff for the most part except for housekeeping. We had google offline translator so we could communicate with her and she was pretty awesome. Breakfast was good $6.00 and you got two eggs, thick sliced warm baguette, two pieces of plastic cheese cut into triangles and fresh cut banana and papaya. Cheaper breakfasts on the main drag. The area is a bit sketchy at night but there are tons of police around. As far as a bar/lounge go that is a bit of a joke. There is wine. No gin as advertised. No bartender as far as that goes but just talk to the girl at front desk. She is normally back there on her phone or some days if you are really lucky it will be the phone AND some vigorous nose picking! All in all not bad it’s a pretty busy place. …
My wife and I stayed there for five nights. Had a great time. Not too busy, not too helpful, but ok. We enjoyed the breakfasts and the the views. Hot water, working wifi. All in all, ok, but not more. We like it simple as this.We stayed october 2016
Everything worked, lots of hot water, a/c could give you icicles it worked so well, good beds and quiet at night. Staff were helpful, friendly and just kind to everyone...they made my stay great. Breakfast was exceptional and a must.
We reserved a suite for the weekend but when we showed up, they said the suite was no longer available. The lady asked us to follow-up the next day but because we asked too late in the following date, they gave the suite to someone else. First come first serve? There was no note of this during our reservation process! Argh :( With that said, the staff is friendly and our room was clean enough and tidy. Cleanliness is A- but the free breakfast and seaside location made for a reasonable experience.
