My husband and I stayed at Hotel Bocas Del Toro from October 10-15. We arrived several hours before check in and we were exhausted, we knew we had to wait until check in time to be checked in. The owner Carla was there and was very lovely she offered us some beach towels and suggested we take a water taxi to Bibi's and lay on the beach for a couple hours. We did just that. We had a great day laying in the sand, playing in the water and we met new friends. Upon check in we were greeted by Yacina at the front desk. We cannot say enough nice things about Yacina , she went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. We felt like we were treated like family. The hotel itself has an old school rustic Panamanian vibe to it. Phenomenal views of the sea. The housekeepers do a great job cleaning the rooms. The A/C is 10/10 and we were always happy to come to our chilled room after a hot day in Bocas town. The included breakfast was great , fresh squeezed juices , great coffee, amazing fruit, great crepes , eggs etc. all with that fabulous view! The restaurant attached coco fastronomy was also 10/10 we recommend the bapes. Live music on the deck often which we also loved. We cannot wait to come back! Thank you Hotel Bocas Del Toro for making our stay a great one, we can't say enough nice things about it. This hotel is also in a great location in Bocas Del Toro, central to many restaurants, shops , water taxis, and only 5 minutes from the airport!

This was my first visit to Bocas, Isla Colon! Hotel Bocas del Toro felt warm and inviting from the minute I stepped into the lobby.
The service by the staff at the reception was with a smile. The owner Carla was always present to guide or answer any questions that needed clarification.
The first stay I met up with friends and we were four in a room, and felt enough space and privacy in the large room with four beds. The rooms were very clean, and they even had ear plugs in the rooms. Keep in mind Bocas is a town with all age groups, partying and talking loud after a few drinks. Yet I loved the location of the hotel. I returned after four days in the jungle and stayed another four nights.
The hotel is central, with boat taxis, scuba diving, and coffee and vegan restaurants all a few minutes of walk.
In conclusion I will say that the location decor, setup, cleanliness, and safety of this hotel is a five star for me.

Bocas del Toro is a typical Caribbean Island town. There are plenty of tours to do. Recommend to go to Red Frog beach, in Bastimento Island a pristine and quiet Sandy beach, without hotels, busy bars or vendors selling you things. In town for accommodations in good quiet location suggest Aqua Point Condos. For food recommend Red Snapper whose lunch specials include red snappers from $8 to $16 depending on size. Al Ajillo was my favorite. Bars are plenty. Suggest Space at 3 street, where you can have $2 shot of Tequila and $2 Local Balboa beer. Taxis are hard to catch bc they make more money delivering food to tourists than with people needing a ride. For trips to the Island recommend Captain Rigo: phone 6841 2322 who is very reliable. Also Taxis Boats Valencia are good for trips to islands and beaches

We found the people here to be nice but the room was awfully small and cramped for 3 people, and had a view of the street (asked for water view, they said they didn't have anymore). The bathroom (toilet) was not well cleaned during our stay and you need to stand on a wooden pallet-like item in the shower that was not comfortable on the feet. On the positive side, they provided us with champagne for New Year and the lady (Jeneda?) who works at the front lobby is extremely sweet. They do lend you towels for the beach excursions. They should have AC or at least a fan for the staff working in the front lobby as it was hot and everyone was sweating. It is noisy 24-7 (some times more than others) but ear plugs were provided. A salsa bar is nearby, the hotel's bar is downstairs, and people are on the street having a good time.

Dear OnConrse Family, We are pleased you enjoyed your stay at our small boutique hotel over the ocean except for the Town Balcony Room experience. We apologize for not having an Ocean Room View available on New Years Eve since we were booked months in advance. Had this room type been requested with your agency we did have one available at the time of your reservation We advised our guests to survive New Years Eve in Bocas you must do your best to become Panamanian for one night. Panamanians are happy and love to have a good time especially on New Years Eve, thus excess noise. We are happy to know you enjoyed several of our courtesy services including a bottle of champagne with earplugs on New Years Eve, dinner reservations, and beach towels. Yacira, our Supervisor, of 17years, is always there to serve with a smile. Our neotropical climate and with this busy time of year everyone is running around which makes us all perspire more than usual, even with the ceiling fan and desk fan at reception. Though we are surprised you were not fond of our tobacco wood spa shower stalls, we assure you we have discussed the other issue with housekeeping. Our apologies. We enjoyed having you and your family as our guests. In the future should you return, do request one of our lovely ocean view rooms in advance. Until then, we wish you and your family a wonderful 2020 and may you enjoy many more adventures in Central America.

This was a wonderful 5 night stay. Hotel has small rooms but spotlessly clean and we had a room with a balcony overlooking the Main Street, which made for amazing people watching, and we were never troubled by noise. The restaurant and bar attached to the hotel were right on the water and we had many meals there because of the beautiful water view and excellent food. There are 3 water taxis adjacent to the hotel which made it very simple to visit islands. Carla, the owner was so helpful and such fun, plus she and all her employees could not do enough for us. A wonderful stay!

Our stay at Bocas Del Toro was fabulous! Three days before we were supposed to go to Peru we had to cancel our trip due to the National State of Emergency declared there. We rerouted our trip to Panama. The staff at Hotel Bocas Del Toro helped us with everything from trips to restaurants and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed the islands around Bocas over Christmas. Every morning we enjoyed having their delicious breakfast made to order overlooking the calm ocean and watching the boats come in and leave. The hotel is perfectly situated close to restaurants and its easy to take water taxi's to other islands to see dolphins, snorkel and see some incredible beaches with aqua marine water. I'd highly recommend splurging and getting the room with the view of the ocean and a balcony where you can sit and watch the boat activity on the water.

Great location, steps away from the docks and right in the heart of the city. If you are a clubber, this is the place to lodge into. Great staff, comfortable bed, good wifi (although not so good in the restaurant terrace).

Right across the street from a noisy night club (also, a noisy street during the night). The hotel freely offers sleeping earbuds (already available in the bathroom, near the towels). It might be challenging if you are looking for a quiet place to sleep, but don't forget that Bocas Town is known for its vibrant nightlife. Turn this into your advantage: do your clubbing during the night and afterward, you are steps away from your hotel.

We are installing a commercial router which will extend the wifi stream. The crown jewel of Bocas del Toro is Bocas Town. It becomes lively during the weekends, which was the time you visited us, and the town is vibrant along with the Casino nearby, restaurants, boutiques and bars. We hope you have an opportunity to visit us again and please let us know in advance so we may recommend a room more appropriate for your preferences. Stayed here one night during Bocas Days which had its parade just steps away. The Hoel exudes old world Bocas charm with a nautical theme. A great extra is that breakfast is included at no charge. The menu is varied, the food was delicious and the service was prompt and courteous. No better way to start your day off sitting at a table overlooking the water and the gorgeous views of Bahia Almirante.

I had arrived into Bocas del Toro the previous night after a 10 hour car ride in some beautiful scenic drives through the mountains. Then, after going to several beaches, I decided that the hotels in the area of Playa Paunch and Playa Bluff were not up to par.

I opted for something “better” and in doing so, chose the Bocas del Toro hotel in the center of Bocas Town.

On arrival, I was immediately shocked by the seedy appearance of the Boca Town streets. In fact, the car spent one night without any problems. I was given a room in third-floor and there was no elevator, refrigerator nor free water but thankfully there was an AC.

Breakfast began at 7 AM and ended at 9:30 AM. The crepes were very good but there was no Splenda. Tonight my wife found 6 small roaches in the bathroom. I guess management does not know they need pest control.

The hotel beach is nonexistent, there is just a large dock which holds the restaurant and apparently you are expected to jump directly into the water, along with the boat, fuel, oil, and other contaminants and who knows what else. Thank you, but no thank you.

This was supposed to be one of the highlights of our Panama vacation, I had actually been thinking of retiring in Bocas del Toro, but I do not like the place. I have seen better beaches in other parts of the Caribbean.

Dear Happiness13899629381, Hotel Bocas del Toro appreciates your honest comments. We are pleased to know you enjoyed your experience driving the scenic road through our primary rain forests, enjoyed great AC and our breakfast, other than the lack of an elevator nor beach. The Hotel does offer Splenda when asked, which you did. The Hotel is recognized for its clean rooms and all rooms and facilities are fumigated monthly. Unfortunately post pandemic there have been many unprecedented opportunities for the movement of species to new areas, all has been removed. The building is a historical wood building, over the ocean. At the time it was built elevators were not used in Bocas. Of 150 hotels in Bocas, only 2 have elevators, operating when maintained, including handicap rooms. Since your reservation was made in the early evening of your check in, had we known there was a physical disability we would have gladly referred you to an appropriate hotel. Though there are many beautiful secluded beaches, the hotel does not advertise having a beach. However, upon request, we are happy to recommend some of our favorites. We do not expect, nor want our guests to jump into the ocean off of our dock. We removed our ladder post pandemic since the addition of a convenient transportation company next door. Unfortunately, Bocas del Toro was not one of the highlights of your Panama vacation. You are correct, Bocas is not for everyone. We are sorry you traveled so far to be so disappointed. We hope your next vacation offers you the attributes you require to be comfortable, as all vacations should be enjoyed. Until then we wish you many splendid vacations ahead!
