Family of four with two kids, 12 + 8. We stayed here for one night, however within two minutes of checking in we wished we’d booked for longer. This place is breathtaking - the view out across the pool looking down onto the river below is absolutely unreal, a picture can’t do it justice. This is a small boutique hotel run by a lovely owner. It’s incredibly peaceful, somewhere to come and get away from it all. The food was incredible, and you can walk right into the kitchen and speak to the chef, even watch and learn how they prepare the food should you wish. Location wise it’s perched up in the hills above Kandy, a short drive down to the town - and perfect in that aspect as there’s much to do and see in Kandy. The hotel also offer a free Tuk Tuk service to take you down to town, you have to find you’re own way back up mind! This place made a huge impression on us. Highly recommended. Had a pleasant two night stay at this hotel It is a beautiful colonial.house. We were in room 3 in the main house The main house rooms have the best views over the river Our room did not have a television but was large. There was not much storage to unpack our clothes Tea and fresh coffee facilities. Desk and wifi. Lovely large bathroom with bath and shower. We didn’t use the bath as we found the hot water in the shower ran out fairly quickly and didn’t want to risk running a bath The pool was the highlight and in fact why we booked this hotel. It was new having been built within the last year. Fairly chilly but refreshing. And those views !!! We felt this hotel’s pricing was a little on the high side for the facilities but having the pool area, for us, made up for that. Not a huge choice of Sri Lankan food choices for dinner if you are staying here for a while but plenty to please if you are only staying a few days. Good service.…

My boyfriend and I stayed for 3 nights at this lovely hotel which overlooked Kandy. The staff were so helpful and friendly and the food was delicious. We arrived at night, so it was a wonderful surprise to wake up to the amazing view, which I enjoyed painting (sam1_olivia on insta if you want to see more of Sri Lanka) A very peaceful, comfortable stay and would highly recommend.

What a beautiful retreat this is, perched at the top of a steep hill, overlooking the river and far from the hustle and bustle of Kandy city centre (which is a short 5-10 min drive away). We slept so well on the 3 nights we were there and, after afternoon and evening rain, woke to the sun peeking through the early morning mist clearing above the river. The pool was lovely (if a bit “refreshing”! first thing). We chose the Sri Lankan breakfast each day, and ate in the hotel one night. The food was delicious. Our room (no 4) was upgraded as the hotel was quiet, so we had a huge bedroom and bathroom with tub. The service was polite and discrete. It was hard to leave.

We absolutely loved this friendly boutique hotel which was so warm and welcoming. The location is high above the city yet near to the centre. The views are beautiful. The service is really personal. We were upgraded when I mentioned to the friendly owner that it was our anniversary. The food is very good and the setting is very romantic. I would highly recommend this place.

My husband and I stayed in the amazing honeymoon suite on our recent motorbike tour. WOW there are no words for how truly breathtaking this place really is. From bathing outdoors, to stunning views, to gorgeous wood furniture, great staff that took amazing care of us, and the Buddha out the bathroom window.

A highlight of our trip, this gorgeous boutique villa was a favourite. The host Volker is so welcoming and accommodating and the service from the staff the best in our trip. Special thanks to Dillon who took care of us so well. Beautiful Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner, and stunning infinity pool overlooking river, away from hustle and bustle. Rooms very authentic and charming. Amazing sunsets. A must stay when you are in Kandy. Thank you so much ❤️❤️

We arrived at Villa Rosa at the end of July 23. A family with four children to celebrate my 40th birthday. The place is perfect! The view is breathtaking! Ilanka the cook cooks wonderful food according to the guests' request! and hosted us perfectly with personal attention. He picks the ingredients from the large vegetable garden on site and prepares simply divine food! He prepared vegan Western food for the children and for us an excellent vegan Sri Lankan meal! You can connect there with nature, and the Sri Lankan story. The pool with the beautiful view was my children's favorite place in the hotel. This is a boutique hotel with personal attention.
