The hotel is located at the top of Aguascalientes, next to the hot springs. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. You won’t be crowded by all the other hotels, but everything is in walking distance. Nows the time to travel if you want to see Machu Picchu before tourism picks up again.
Suite with balcony had an amazing view of the town and valley. Staff was friendly and super helpful (great English), which was crucial in helping us keep ahead of the rapidly changing COVID-related government restrictions.
Stayed 3 nights at this hotel and relative to the area, this is definitely one of the best options in town! Maria at the front desk was always welcoming, spoke English, and was very knowledgeable. The gentleman who served us excellent breakfast and picked us up from the train station, was always so nice too. They both made sure we were comfortable. The location of the hotel is quiet, safe, in a little city square away from all the local commotion. Located on top of a hill, so the climb might be a little tough for some, keep in mind if you have any health limitations. The sound of the river was soothing. The large windows and the views of the mountain were stunning, each morning offering the freshest air. The room was spacious and had a quiet fan that helped tremendously with the humidity in the area. Everything was very clean and followed COVID safety protocols.…
Would recommend staying here, it is a very nice hotel with comfortable beds and clean rooms. The staff at the reception is very helpful and speaks English well. They can arrange massages for you (even in your room!) which is a great thing to to after days of hiking and camping. The only downside was that the curtains did not black out the light effectively. However, this isn't too bad as we were up early anyway to go to Machu Picchu.
Our guided tour to Machu Picchu had reserved a room for us at Taypikala. We got there and received a warm welcome from the reception staff. For no particular reason and without us requesting they upgraded us to one of the suites, which comes with a large bathroom, two large beds, and a jacuzzi. Unfortunately we were pretty tired and went straight to bed after a nice shower. The room was very nice, clean, and well stocked of all a travel could need. We had to be up at 4:00am the next morning but breakfast was ready. There was a large variety to food available for all tastes and diets. Overall, very impressed. We enjoyed our short stay and definitely recommend this hotel.
