We were a team of 3 families, all including kids are thick friends and were on for some good time to play, sit and relax. Elixir was beyond what we expected. A large property with a contemporary and nature friendly construction.

Room: We booked 3 deluxe rooms. Our rooms were near to each other. Each room had 2 wash rooms (which really helped since we have kids), a living room and balcony. All were clean with luxury fittings. The balcony was big and had great view, where we can sit for a coffee and enjoy the wonderful view of nature.

Food: We reached in the afternoon, and so had to order a la carte for lunch as kitchen was almost closed. The food was tasty except a Fried Rice. While finishing the ex.chef (Mr. Chandy) inquired about the food where we pointed about the Fried Rice. He happily offered a new one which we refused as we are almost done, later we knew that the fried rice was excluded from our bill. While lunch the ex.chef came to us discussing dinner and after dinner we discussed about the next day breakfast. All were buffets and were prepared to our request and delicious. The restaurant was near to the pool and kids play area, which escalated the ambiance and accessibility.

Place: It is one of the biggest property in Munnar (more than 200 acres as we came to know), so beautiful, calm and scenic with swimming pool, indoor games, kids park and a wonderful, rare to find natural water falls at the back. Lots of landscapes are there where we can hang out, with small huts to sit and camp fires upon request.

Service: Apart from usual I wish to point out a few good gestures from the elixir team. We had an issue with one of our cars which we came to know after check out, the next day. The security and staffs made arrangements and helped us to rectify the problem with the car. It took a few hours for our car to get repaired. To make us happy in these hours, the team offered us fresh juice and a free ride in an electric golf cart to see the inner beauty of the resort which had a tree house as well and brought us back when the car was ready.

conclusion: a hand shake of satisfaction and contentment to the entire team of elixir. we will definitely be back. I have and will recommend to many of my friends and relatives.

We were celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary and had chanced to select this resort. The prime reason was that we got to know that resort was over 10 kms away from the center of Munnar town and deep inside acres and acres of natural environment. While the drive into the resort a good 30 mts we passed to beautiful locale before an awesome desent to reach the place.
The moment from touchdown, one could feel the warmth with the authentic Kerala style welcome while check in procedures were on. We were continiuosly kept engaged with enqiries on how our drive was with the front office inclusive of the Security guard esuring we had a soomth and seamless entry into our room.
The whole resport is so much self contained that you have all facilities to not venture out but relax and enjoy their service. Right from the beautiful done up reception lobby , the large sized swimming pool, the play areas and the honeymooners midnight huts one has no bounds of enjoyment.
Capping it off was thw 1 hr Nature treckking walk where in addition to the untouched forest we came across beautiful water falls through rocky faces. Youngsters am sure would leave aside the swimming pool and bath in this crystal clear natural free flowing water.

The food was awesome with well laid out spread. We had the opportunity to have the buffet breakfast and dinner on two days and were treated to the variety of dishes - i let my diet control regiem down and just indulged into uncontrolled feasting. Surprised to see their Chef Chandy helping guests with choices and suggestions on how to go about onces indulgenses.

Celebrating our 38th annivessery the staff led by thier GM, Jacob John joined us for a breif cake cutting and our froliking. What followed was a candle light dinner arranged in bed of flowers which transported us back to our younger days. i told my wife even seniors can relive their honeymoon with such experience. Cannot forget Linsee who was at our service all through making it memorable.
When we returned to our rooms to find our bed flower decked with 38 inscribed in a heart - all with roses.

We have been fortunate enough to have travelled the world, this being one of the best.

The room was spick and span overlooking the pristine lush green forest in which this resort was llocated. What suprised us was the classness of the bathrooms. We had chosen one with a jacuzzi. Looked as if this part was almost the size of our bedroom and left a lasting experien

Thought 100% customer satisfaction was something that is unachievable in a service industry till date. But when you experience a single day stay at Elixir Hills you would reiterate this statement. No wonder this resort is one among the top world rankings for best customer service and facility rankings. The property construction is so unique and resembles a beautiful design on the slope of misty mountains of Munnar. Reception is on the top floor and rooms are on the bottom floors along the slope of the mountain. Hence you would need to take a series of lifts to reach your room which is kind of unique and won't tire you since the pathways to the rooms are very beautiful.
There is an forest track and waterfall inside to the resort. Its a unique experience and you would love it especially with kids in the group.
You would be greeted with very polite reception staff. The reception itself opens to the beautiful valley view. All covid protocols are being followed strictly which instills confidence.
Rooms are very luxurious and to my knowledge all the rooms have beautiful valley views. The one point that you would notice everywhere is the excellent service the staff provide. All staffs from the cleaning to managerial staffs were so kind and helpful and repeatedly enquires and ensures whether we are comfortable and happy.
Pools are slightly warm and can be used on the allotted time with advanced booking due to covid restrictions. We can engage in indoor games, cycling and camp fire arranged by the property without additional charges.
Couples should defnitely book a candle night dinner here. The candle night arrangements and vibe were so romantic.
Food was so delicious with zero flaws to point out and restaurant area excels in hospitality.
I highly recommend this property for everyone visiting Munnar. Double recommend if you are on a honeymoon.
Thanks to Ashish such a special treatment

We are a couple and booked Honeymoon suite with Jacuzzi in Elixir Hills. There was a major power drop/outage multiple times in the resort and even there was no generator backup. Check in/out took too much time and we waited for more than half an hour in the front office, because room was not ready. There is no mobile network coverage but resort provided wifi. We found used food packets in the room which shows lack of hygiene and cleanliness. No washroom slipper and you will get half used toilet paper roll. Unprofessional staff with poor customer service/guest relations and its simply overpriced. If you are searching for a luxury resort experience with calm and quiet atmosphere, stay apart and this is not the one recommendable unfortunately. Way to the resort from Munnar town is another hectic with very bad road condition.
We stayed in the property on 06th December 2020 and room is sought to be sanitized. Restaurant serve buffet dinner and breakfast, but timing for dinner is odd and it start only by 8:30 PM in the evening. OMG when we enter into the restaurant it was full noisy and crowded, no social distancing or masks while people come to serving counter and there was no proper staff to serve or manage. Fish market is better than this. Finally I got a big hair from the food.
I don’t understand why they call Luxury 5 star resort, even Elixir can’t meet the basic requirements. Too much crowded and noisy. Overall rating is very bad and disappointing!
I reported this to Elixir Management and there is no response and am sure that they will not respond – unprofessional people . This is not a reputed brand its simply a homestay without having basic amenities.

The property is at a stunning location. Hospitality from welcome to checkout is good. Staff is customer oriented but due to lack of maintenance I’ve reduced a star. The rooms are spacious but could’ve been better in terms of cleanliness and interior. The reception is extraordinarily done which raises the expectation of the room. We were In the Jacuzzi suite where the major disappointment was unavailability of clean towels. The housekeeping never pick up the phone but then reception staff covers for it. In totality if you want a good location this is THE place. Consider it for the hospitality of staff, location , swimming pool and space.

The Elixir Hills is not a good hotel. I'm not clear how people have given it 5* reviews - I can only assume that they have a much lower expectation of the hotel. The pictures on websites seem to have been taken when the property was first built and these do not reflect the lack of maintenance that is apparent.

We stayed for 2 nights in a suite. We rejected the first room offered and in some time were given another. Both rooms were well sized. We weren't happy with the 2nd room either however the hotel was full and there were no other rooms to place us in.

The key issue in the hotel is lack of maintenance. Rooms are extremely damp with mold patches on the walls and curtains. Due to this the rooms smell (and can't be in anyway healthy). When alerted to this the hotel staff proposed air freshener which doesn't really resolve the issue.

The hotel is approx 20 mins from Munnar town. Although not the responsibility of the hotel, the road from Munnar to the hotel is in awful condition and makes for an uncomfortable journey. The hotel should make some investment in improving this. 20 minutes out of Munnar also means that once you are at the hotel you are unlikely to pop out again for dinner, etc. Our future preference would be to stay in Munnar town.

The spa was relatively cheap however very basic. Dirty, damp treatment rooms and then at the end of the treatment we were told that it was cash only.

Food was very average. Staff in the restaurant were helpful.

We couldn't wait to leave this hotel.

Location: Location of resort is very beautiful. it is bit far from munnar town in midst of forest. There is beautiful waterfall just 5 mins down from resort. one can spend 1 full day in resort. Also a note ensure you reach resort before 7pm as resort on elephant trail.elephants usually come in night and it is not suggested to drive after evening on way to resort
Hospitality: All staff members were very helpful and courteous
food: Food was simply delicious. Thanks to executive cheff Mr. chandy and Rinson for his service
overall it was a pleasant stay with Elixir.
just small suggestion D.suite walls needs makeover as due to water i think walls for all rooms have stain mark which is only negative point.
Rest all good and waterfall 5 mins of walk from resort is the main highlight.it was beautiful. Thanks

As soon we entered the reception to check in, we were welcomed by warm Munnar tea and wet face towels.
The resort had a very warm and welcoming theme and the suites we stayed in were comforting and had a modern touch to them.
The staff was very friendly and courteous. The food was delectable. Other than the restaurant, we dined in the mini-hay huts beside the pool to enjoy the weather. There are so many more reasons why we enjoyed our stay in this resort. One of my most memorable stay in a resort.

My 3 children and I stayed here a few nights in the first week of jan. it is quite out of the way but ideal if you want to be one with the nature. It does take about 30 mins to get through the roads damaged by the flood.
We had a fabulous room but a few things were very disappointing. When we stayed at the resort, it wasn’t sufficiently staffed during this very busy holiday period and the service didn’t live up to our expectations. For example, we couldn’t even get a coffee without being sent to several places from cafe to restaurant and finally to cafe again and still no coffee.
Food was the most disappointing part - evening meals was always buffet and very expensive and not of the best quality nor was it refreshed when food ran out. Meat dishes especially were of poor quality with barely any meat but full of bones. Although a la carte was available, kids meals took far too long to arrive.
And finally as the hotel pool is shaded by the vegetation, which is great, the pool was always full of leaves which wasn’t cleaned up regularly and the pool was too cold for the kids to use which was one of the reasons for electing to stay here. Maybe should consider heating it during certain periods?

I am sure during less busy periods it would be a great place to stay.

Elixir Hills, the name sounded exotic, the location 12 kms away from the town centre, didn't seem far but the winding road with blind turns and bad condition made the journey longer than expected. Also as it gets pitch dark in the evening, we had to rush back to the hotel before evening.

The reception staff on arrival made us wait for half an hour as the room was not ready, at 4 pm, whereas the check in time is 1 pm. We were exhausted from a long drive from Kovalam but had to endure the wait.

The digital buttons outside the door to request for room cleaning was not functioning ( room 2002 ) so the next day again had to wait for the housekeeping staff to clean it after returning tired from sightseeing the whole day.

The only compensation for all the unnecessary waiting and irritation was the excellent service from the restaurant staff, they more than made up for all the drawbacks.

I hope they iron out the glitches as soon as possible to give a good experience to the tourists.

Dear Ms. Yashodhara, Namasthe! We extend our warm gratitude for your kind review on us. We are extremely sorry for the delay occurred. It’s in fact due to back to back turn around that happens at times that we are forced to keep our guests waiting before the rooms are made ready for them, especially during seasons when all rooms are occupied for days together. However, we do understand that we can’t raise it as an excuse and the black patches you mentioned in the review need to be addressed with immediate effect. And we do regret the inconvenience caused. We have taken corrective measures for sure and see that such errors are not repeated again. Further, we are delighted to hear such fabulous words about our restaurant and production team... Looking forward to see you soon again and serve you better... Best regards.. Team Elixirhills..

There are a few other resorts around but we didn’t check if they had restaurants, they probably do. The road is not as bad as I thought, it takes 40 minutes to get there from Munnar, narrow road and a bit bumpy at times but not too bad.
