Fortunately we were with a guide when we arrived in Huangshan or else we might have struggled to find this hotel as it is located down a dark narrow alley. It sounds ominous but felt quite safe. The little wooden doorway opened into a small courtyard and suddenly you felt you had been taken back in time. The whole place was lovely. If you want to stay in a place that has a traditional feel to it, then come here. The room itself was furnished in old dark Chinese furniture including a boxed in double bed. Maybe not for the claustrophobic though! There's no view and it's a bit odd having glazed panels to the ensuite bathroom, but that aside, it was great. Just a few minutes walk to Old Street as well. Breakfast was a tasty bacon sandwich.

We really enjoyed staying here. Our kids loved the antique box bed and we loved the location. So easy to walk right out to the old street. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. This hotel felt more authentic than a cheesy Western style hotel and you really just can't beat that location.

Quaint, traditional style accomodation. Excellent location, metres from “Old Street”, yet quiet. Room was spacious (we were on the upper level), with ante room with one bed, stepping down to a larger area with another bed and casual chairs. Largest room we had on our 2 week visit. Traditional wood/beam style. Small, clean bathroom. Helpful staff who arranged car transfers and suggested tour itineraries. Would absolutely stay here again. Western breakfast was very average - sweetened white bread toast, reconstituted bacon. Coffee was ok. But not a lot of alternatives around, the town is very geared to Chinese visitors.

Tucked away in an alley way near the old town. It takes some time to locate it as the entrance to the alley way isn’t obvious. It’s some meters walk so don’t be swayed by the ‘wrong direction ‘ analysis ! Once there, enter the main door and the reception is on the left . We got rooms - on the top floor and ground floor. Each has its own design but the beds - olden Hui and modern styles are available. Bathrooms are modern . And it’s clean . Breakfast starts at 7 am but didn’t try as we needed to head up to Huangshan early in the morning. Overall an experience and worth the opportunity to experience what’s kind of like to stay in old adobe .

Spent 4 nights at this Chinese-versioned B and B. If you are willing to sacrifice creature comfort and want to experience living in a historical type of house, this is for you. But for us, if creature comfort is a basic requirement, you may be disappointed. The internet and TV are intermittent. The shower is so so. The room is very dark and nothing much you can do in the room, except sleep. So be warned.

We stayed here for 2 nights recently & wish it was for longer. Hotel is full of charm, room superb, great staff, very welcoming. Assisted us from the moment we were greeted in the rain with an umbrella on arrival at midnight, until we left with left and were helped with luggage to the taxi on departure. Old town is charming & recommend anyone visiting the town to stay here.

We loved the place. It’s a true to the Chinese culture. We loved our room. The wood work on the bed was stunning. True ancient China. The bathroom was very clean. Bed was comfortable and big. This hotel is in a hidden alley we truly felt like we were in ancient China. All was very clean and tidy.

Very nice Hotel, like a Family Hotel. Unique living and sleeping like in ancient times. It is not luxurious but very charming. Situated in The Old street. Everything interesting is in walking distance.

Stayed at the Hui Boutique Hotel after a late flight arrival from Beijing, before heading the scenic area the next morning. It was a bit hard to find, tucked in an alley off the (carless) Ancient Street tourist attraction. Once there, though, we found a beautiful and relaxing oasis after our hectic stay in Beiijing. We slept better than any other night in China, with the peace and quiet in our closed-in traditional bed. The staff were kind enough to store our bags, and for 100 yuan let us shower and clean up after coming back from the mountains two days later before hopping on the train, despite not having a room rented then. Overall a fantastic stay in a great little spot.

The Hui Boutique Hotel is great. It is located in the old city in a quiet but central small street. Inside, it is truely authentic. The room is large and well equiped. The staff, they are very friendly. I will come back, for sure.
