A wonderful family in a beautiful place, took care of all our needs. Happy to assist with planing the day trips and tickets reservations. Good English! Fish dish is the Best !! Central location - few minutes walk to the valentines valley, close to the nine dragon waterfall, 10 minutes drive to the bus stations for the yellow mountain and hot springs. Highly recommended 😀👍🏼

The service here is unbelievable: This hostel is run by a very friendly family, who also lives there and they assisted us in every imaginable way in helping us to plan our Huangshan trip: they handed us out a map of the scenic area and discussed possible hiking routes with us. And on the next morning they personally drove us to the bus station, where they explained us where deposit our luggage, where to buy the bus tickets for Hangzhou for the next day and which bus to take to the telpher. Thank you so much for having made our life (ok, I mean the Huangshan trip ;)) so much easier! In a nutshell: If you want to visit the Huangshan Scenic Area by yourself, but are a bit unsure, how to organize it, start here!

How we got there: We came directly from Beijing to Huangshan area via Highspeed train. The train stops at Huangshan North, which is around 40 to 50 mins away from the area Mount Huangshan and the guesthouse. There is a bus going to the city (20yuan) where the guesthouse is located. The Bus terminal is to the right after you went out of the train station. We arrived late so we had to ask for the private pickup service provided by the family. Cost: 220 yuan per (small) car from huangshan north station. Location: -The Guesthouse is located in a somewhat new villa area -There are alot more small guesthouses and kitchens around -only small grocery shops 10min by walk towards the city (but the guesthouse provides the most stuff u could need in their own small shop) -9 Dragons Waterfall 5min by car with the free of charge shuttle service -Emerald Valley 5 min by foot away -bus to the mt. Huangshan cable car stations 10min away with free of charge shuttle service Kitchen/Food: -The breakfast choice is limited and pretty basic (15 to 30 yuan with some addons) -They serve a small choice of food with so so to good quality (dumplings for expamle are deep cooled ones) Rooms: -Are kinda basic but totally okay for the price we paid (16€ ~120yuan) Hospitality: -The family is very kind and helpful. We felt very comfortable during our stay. -They will help you planning your tour and drive you to the different locations -We had a great feeling there -Just a small reminder: Its a chinese family. So expect them to watch loudly videos on their mobile during your lunch/dinner/breakfast while the TV is on. Expect that they will smoke everywhere in the building. For westener that may be offensive and rude, but its just how the chinese culture is (more or less). I guess if you aks them to stop smoking when you are around, they would do that without hesitation. They are really nice people, so just dont let cultural differences get between you :) We would stay there again and we recommend the place :)

We stayed here two groups of 5-6 for 2-3 nights. We had a good stay, the family took us around where ever we needed to go, they had a decent priced restaurant on-site and room was clean. Would recommend if you are spending a couple nights to visit the area

Our group of 9 people spent two nights with Sean and Mrs Sean at the Villa. In that time they did everything for us including arranging transfers from Hongcun ancient village and to the Huangshan train station, buying tickets for various hikes and tours, even arranging an evening of tasting the local teas. We also ate all our meals here. The villa was fantastic value, clean and very affordable, however the highlight was how well we were looked after and how much Sean was able to make our trip to this area so easy. thanks very much

We travelled as a family (2 adults and a toddler). We chose this hotel because of all the positive feedbacks we had read. And, indeed, this family hotel and the family itself are friendly. But be prepared for: 1) living in location where there is no public transportation at all and where taxis charge you higher than in most of big cities in China and where you can hardly find any taxi. That's because the hotel is located out in the boonies. So, if Sean or anyone from his family is busy with other guests, you just walk long distances to where you wanted to get till you wiped out like hell; 2) finding dirty linens in your bed when you check in; 3) finding insects in your room that fly right from the outside; 4) finding dust and uncleaned utensils in your room and in many other places of the hotel building; 5) taking shower in that simple Chinese village style (with the hole in the shower room); 6) finding margarine instead of the butter on your toasts. That's just because neither Sean, nor his wife see the difference between butter and margarine and they believe all foreigners can eat any yellow-colored stuff on their soft bread which they call "toast"; 7) being woken up early morning or even in daytime, if you decide to nap shortly, by loud beeping of cars of Sean's family; 8) enjoying extremely slow wifi in your rooms which you can't use even to go to yahoo. Other shortcomings are there too. Tourist infrastructure in Tangkou area is also very much underdeveloped compared to other places in China. So, basically this hotel is good enough for backpackers or those who really don't care what they get for what they pay for, even if room rate is quite low.

we were at fulilou villa 6th july 2016. very impressed with the owner Mr. Sean and the wife Mrs. Xiao Xiao. both of them very helpful and quick response. and the best is they can speak English. since we were doing our own trip without tour agency, we probably give up without help from Sean. attraction location not far from his villa. worth to stay. and Sean can give you guidance how to make your own tour. maybe only one thing must be improved, the bed sheet must be prepared well before check in. I suggest you to make a phone to Sean, requesting to clean up the room 1 or 2 days before you arrive. other things great.

I stayed here with a friend last week when we did a weekend trip to Huangshan. The couple that own the building are lovely and very helpful. The husband's English is good and the wife has enough to help you with anything. They picked us up from the train station and drove us around to several places throughout the weekend (the waterfall, the mountain, bus for the spa and also the bus to Hongcun). They paid for everything including booking bus tickets for us and then we paid everything in our total bill upon our departure. This was nice and they even met us at the bus station when we got back from Hongcun so that we could make our bus back to Shanghai and not carry around our luggage all day. The husband helped us plan our route for the mountain as well and explained everything we would want to see with distance, times and prices between all the different points on the map. The location is perfect and has a really nice view of the mountains and is walking distance to Emerald Valley and some restaurants. They do have a restaurant and a convenance store within their villa so you could get drinks, candy, bug spray, etc. and then also a full menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner which you can pay when you leave. The food was pretty good and they had a lot of options for dinner with photos available. This was really nice having that after a long day. The room that we had was also very nice and spacious with 2 double beds.. My only complaint is that they may have been a bit hard for my liking, but that's common! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Huangshan or any of the neighboring ancient villages. It was a really good price, a nice place and the nicest people!

We stayed here early in our trip to China. Communication was great before our visit everything was comfortable, the home cooked food was delicious. Shom and his family were very helpful, going out of their way to assist us. They made our Mt Huanghan experience easy. We got them to meet us at the airport, and also drove us to Hongcun via the Mukeng forest in a very comfortable car at a reasonable cost. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank you so much.

I stayed there two nights with plesant. Shon and his wife were very kind to me. They picked me up and dropped me off since the house is about 7 mins from the bus stop. Shon gave me good tips how to plan hiking around Mt.Huangshan. The room was good and clean with hi-speed wifi. I felt like a home there honestly
