So pleasantly surprised with this hotel. We had stayed at the adjoined/sister property about a year ago and it was disgusting. I was nervous about staying here bc I figured maybe it had the same management and cleaning staff. The reviews are still kind of negative even after the renovation. Both visits were due to hockey games in the area and we do not get to pick our accommodations. But, this hotel ended up being great! I’d stay there again without hesitation. The lobby is pretty. The exercise room has everything you could need including a wide range of free weights. The free breakfast was one of the best we’ve had. There was a buffet of fresh fruit, sausage, scrambled eggs, French toast, home fries, and even a made to order omelette station. The man working that prepared a delicious egg white omelette with all the veggies for me. The renovation here was extensive. You can tell the bones and design of the hotel are older but the decor is very modern. As some mention, the aesthetics are a bit strange….not sure why anyone would knock a review score down for it… it’s just some color clashing. I actually appreciate the attempt and some of it works quite nicely…and some not. Whatever. The room is spacious and has a nice couch, chair, ottoman, and desk. There is a large wall mounted tv with all the connectivity ports you could want. There are outlets and usb ports galore. Lots of lamps, and bed lights, etc. The blackout curtains are true blackouts. There is a small fridge and microwave along with an extra sink and counter space. The bathroom is very well done. Nice marble/tile, lighting, etc. The beds are comfortable and the linens are nice, too. And there is another tv in the bedroom. We were happy all around with our stay here. Just be sure to stay on the Embassy Suites side and not the Homewood Suites side….it is night and day.

Hotel's Favorite
The location of the hotel was great. It's located about 10 minutes from Dulles Airport and within 30-45 minutes of downtown Washington, DC. There is plenty to do around the hotel, including some restaurants within walking distance. There were many other positives about the hotel as well. The room was quiet and the beds were very comfortable. The pool area was nice and the gym seemed to be very nice as well. The breakfast in the morning was very good. The biggest issue was simply the hotel was showing it's age. The couch in a room was ripped and not comfortable even to sit on. The light in the bathroom over the shower was dark so the entire bathroom did not light up very well. The refrigerator was not overly cold, although it did the trick. Even the ice machine in the hallway was very slow. There were areas of the hotel that needed attention, including a piece of fruit that was placed in fountain in the lobby that was there for our entire stay. Overall, it was a fine place to stay, and I would stay again in a second, but it would be great to see some minor upgrades to the furniture and some attention to detail would go a long way.

I picked this hotel because it was supposed to have a free shuttle to and from the airport and a restaurant onsite and sure to my medical condition didn't want to travel far. After I called and booked the room for the night, l found out there was no shuttle. Ordered an urber. Upon entry of the hotel, I was greeted with a sign saying I had to go to the Homewood suites for check-in next door. I had to walk next door to check in only to find out i had to walk back next door because one was Hilton and the other was a different hotel but one person was checking in people for both hotels. It was a long walk, and the check-in person didn't offer to help with my two bags of luggage, weighting over 78 lbs between the two. After check-in, I asked where the restaurant was and was pointed to the bar area. There was a very limited selection of food. I ordered wings, and 30 minutes later, I finally got my food in a to go box. There were three orders of hamburgers that came out after my order was placed. They had a managers site reception, which gave you two free drinks. The bar tender was more interested in flirting with the guys during the thirty minutes it took for my did to come up. I asked if there was water in the room and was told to ask the front desk person. I went to the front desk and no there was no bottled water in the room so it was a different check in guy who ran to the other hotel to get me a bottle of water even though it says there is bottled water in the rooms. The room was amazing and comfortable with a few hairs in the bathtub. I didn't expect that out of $120 room. When I started eating my wings, they were horrible. I couldn't get meat off the bones and no taste to them at all. Definitely not worth the $15 I paid for them. I informed the check out keystone at 3:00 am and all she did was say I'm sorry. I asked if they could refund me the $15 but she didn't give me an answer. She said she was running reports and could not give me my invoice yet because the computers were typed up. I let her know about the hairs in the bathtub. She said they were working on a new cleaning crew. I called another Uber to go back to the airport. Worst customer service ever.

Everything was good except in the morning on January 17 there was no hot water in the shower. It's not that it was warm or lukewarm, it was cold. On departure there was no one at the front desk to complain to.

I am a Embassy Suites traveler. This one is not bad when it comes to cleanliness and price. The $10 parking is a scam. The customer service is just awful. The breakfast is awful for an embassy suites. When asking for toilet paper or towels, the room service will never come. We have stayed here three times. Each time they have started the process of cleaning the room while we were at breakfast on checkout day. They do not give you until 11am to checkout. I would pay $95 a night for this place

No one monitoring the check in desk in the evening, No shampoo in the rooms, no one answering the phone at the desk (I had to wait 2 minutes before someone answered), and when I requested shampoo, they told me to come down and get it (even though I was in my underware) or wait 30 minutes for housekeeping, then asked for a manager who was never provided. You have to pay for parking at this hotel ($10 a Day) which is never communicated on the website for this hotel, very much a deception tactic, the food at breakfast is cold, even if you are there 5 minutes after they open. And the list goes on and one.

I am sitting in the room now writing this review. I would not normally write a review, but I can’t help feeling swindled, and I have neither the patience nor tolerance to continue conversations with the front desk when they offer nothing but excuses and blame me and the third party. I don’t blame them, both persons I spoke with were pleasant and professional and repeated whatever management told them, which is where they have a problem, if management does not trust their employees enough to empower them to resolve a problem, then the uppermost management is lacking. And as I sit here, the room is nice, clean-ish, and relatively spacious, we had some snacks at the managers hour, which were very limited, but of a reasonable quality, but still not up to the standards or variety I’ve had at other hotels within this chain. Above all please be ware for patronizing incompetence, we reserved a particular room set up, and they gave me somewhere different than I expected. The front desk tells me the room I expected was sold out. So they acknowledged that they do exist. Front desk sent me to adjoining hotel, again front desk representative repeated the same. I even offered to pay for a second room, and while they would agreed to move me, they were not empowered to give me the full value of what I paid because reservation was made on third party site. Which they continued to tell me that due to recent renovations, the third party site was full of errors, that they could take up to a year to correct. So to them the 2-bedroom suite I reserved and the available 1-bedroom suites are identical, it’s just that they are marketed and obviously priced differently. So I am feeling swindled, and recommended everyone be ware of their bait and switch tactics. We are only here for one night, so I will put up with with their nonsense, but do not accept it, nor can I standby and not inform fellow travelers of the poor management here. Don’t let yourself get swindled like I was.

Not at all what I would expect from Embassy Suites. Quite annoyed about $10 parking when there is a very large surface lot. Very difficult to find someone at the front desk - at one point I had to walk to the adjacent hotel to speak to someone because I couldn’t find anyone or get anyone on the phone. Although the rooms are updated, I found 3 hairs in the room upon my arrival that were not mine. Also found a blood stain on the sheet. I asked for housekeeping every day while I was there, but it was never done until day 3 when I pitched a fit to the evening manager. He finally sent someone to clean the room even though he had promised the night before that it would be done on day 2. I also saw the same staff working breakfast in the morning and the bar in the evening. When the bar was busy, the counters and tables were filthy. Not enough staff to keep it clean. I’ll never stay there again even though I come to this area regularly to visit an ill family member.
