The bedrooms needs to be renovated ASAP. We wanted to eat but the 2 sandwiches that were left at the pantry refrigerated case did not looks very appetizing and looked old . After mentioning our concerns to the front desk they told us that the cook didn’t show up for work. They suggested to us that we go the restaurant next door at the Hilton. When we arrived at the Hilton they told us that their restaurant was close ?
We ended buying a sandwich at the gas station next door !
On that same day that night while having a drink at the bar I saw a guest eating a nice kebab that smelled very good and looks very good . When I asked the lady bartender if I could order one she said that I needed to order it from a local kebab restaurant and they would deliver to the hotel. I wished the front desk had told me that before instead to send me to the close Hilton hotel next door.
I realized it was the day after Thanksgiving but the hotel should have a plan in case the cook don’t show up. It was obvious that the front desk and the bar tender couldn’t care less if we were hungry and this is very disappointing.
The shuttle to go to the airport also was not operational because the driver also did not come to work ?
Some training is needed with the staff regarding customers care .

Roger, Thank you for your feedback. I am relatively new to the property and was not here when you stayed back in November. That said, since I have come aboard I and the rest of the management staff have worked diligently to ensure that our customers are being given the level of service that they have come to expect from a Marriott brand. We are also finalizing plans for renovation to the rooms which will begin later this year.

HVAC system sounds like you are actually on the runway at Dulles... all of the rooms apparently share this same ailment. DO not ask for a second bottle of water for the coffee machine and all will be well... no food to speak of , but a decent bar and very friendly staff.

Only there for one night, but it was worth it! Echoing other reviews, the hotel is really clean, the staff was friendly, and we really liked the design and decor. Because we were only there for one night we didn't try out all the hotel amenities, but they appeared more than adequate. We were not there for the airport, so I can't speak to the shuttle or links to Dulles, but the location did seem a little isolated. It was a bit of a drive to get to anything in the area, but you could walk across the parking lot to Starbucks and a 7-11, which means you always had the essentials nearby. One extra benefit was the very reasonable dog fees. We had our two dogs with us on this trip and they seemed comfortable.

So I was hoping this hotel made some changes with new ownership, but it hasn't. I believe the new owners are Indian, and not a whole lot has changed. There are no microwaves in any of the rooms and the sole microwave for use by all its temporary tenants is hidden under a countertop behind cabinet doors. There is a nice (but filthy) popcorn maker for free popcorn but must be for certain occasions, I didn't see it being used at all. The gym was kept clean, and was not that busy.
The staff on the other hand, are wonderful. They are polite (even when bombarded with a line of checkins) and are courteous. The drivers for their shuttle were polite, friendly, easy to strike up a conversation with. The was one driver on the other hand that scared me a bit. The last time I was driven around like that was in Afghanistan, Mexico, and Thailand. I'm going to go out on a limb and make the assumption that because the southern border gate is wide open, he may be fairly new to this country, I just hope he doesn't cause an accident.
Rooms are very clean, beds well made, nice size shower ( its nice to be able to walk into a shower and not have to step over tub to get in.
The bar on the other hand, not sure if I'd order a drink or food from. There were two people sitting at the bar when I walked up and one look at the fruit used to garnish the drinks with, was enough to send me back up stairs and order an uber...

I have had three seperate trips back to this hotel in the last 2.5 months. Its understandable that the meal service has stopped due to covid, but during the same period I have stayed at 3 other Marriott brand hotels and they at the very least provided drinks in a sealed container of sort, pre-packaged muffins, cereal bars, fruit...Aloft on the other hand, use to carry those items, and were available to purchase if the $9 cup of potatoes and one egg didn't fill you up. Now though, there is nothing to purchase. The cooler that once had little food items for snack and desert have been replaced by a larger cooler that is about 25% stocked with nothing but drinks. Most of the really nice staff are gone, but there are two women there that have been there a while and are very helpful and more than friendly. From my understanding the hotel was to begin renovation in the March-April timeframe but covid has pushed that back. Not sure why though, you would think that while the hotel is mostly vacant you could get it done much quicker and avoid a lengthly renovation that would surely be a little annoying to those staying there... My biggest gripe I would say is the bugs. Bugs were on my desktop, on the vanity top in the bathroom during all 3 visits and were seen within an hour or two, and I hadnt even brought food in yet. I would leave a cup of water out on the nightstand to take meds in the morning only to find 8-12 ants crawling around on the cup. The airconditioning ran all day, and all night, only reason I could come up with is the AC in the main building had quit, The hallways were about 15 degrees warmer than the room was at all times throughout the week. I realize Aloft is part of the Marriott International brand, but its this site is NOT up to the Marriott standard.
I'm giving this a rating of two, if it wasnt for the pleasant staff, it would be a one.

Hotel was okay. We booked a block of rooms for our wedding in June. Due to Covid we had to reschedule to September we had an original price of $109 We find out that booking outside the block was $70 and no one told us!! We were told all the way up to 2 days prior that the bar was open and they would keep it open until 2am for us so that our wedding guests could come back and hang out. We had a bus drop everyone off and then the bar was closed and we were there’s nothing they could do. ABSOLUTELY unacceptable! That’s the last thing you want to deal with on your wedding night! Won’t be staying again!!

Our bar, even pre-COVID, was normally open until midnight, with last call being at 11:30pm. Wedding parties can pay to keep the bar open as late as 2am, but those arrangements have to be made and paid for in advance so that we can schedule accordingly. I hope that the wedding itself was as wonderful an event as you had originally planned for and we wish the Bride and Groom a lifetime of happiness together!

Staying at this location was a breath of fresh air. The front desk attendants (Graciela and a man whose name I did not catch) covered 12-hour shifts and they were both incredibly kind and helpful. Graciela was there at check-in and check-out. She seemed genuinely happy to have us as guests (including our pup!) and made me feel like we were in great hands if we needed anything. Our stay couldn't have been any better...and now that I've had a chance to stay at another Aloft property, I am even more appreciative of the support, care, and cleanliness provided by Aloft Dulles Airport North. Thank you for making the first stop on our journey a wonderful memory!

Room was a standard Aloft room; a little oddly set up (somewhat weird light switches), but satisfactory overall. The problem is that the bill themselves as an "airport hotel," when they are NOT capable of acting as such. We booked a room with them, as we were coming into Washington Dulles from Europe in the evening, and flying back home to the southwest US the next morning.

No one ever answers their phone after about 8pm or possibly starting earlier (8:15 is when we started to call ... nothing but ringing alternating with hold messages). We finally found out that their shuttle van runs once per hour, and we finally got on about 9pm, which I think may have been their last shuttle of the night. It appeared that they only had two employees working in the evening: the guy at the front desk who doesn't answer the phone, and the shuttle driver until his evening shift ended. When we got there and asked about a ride back in the morning, we found out that the airport shuttle only runs once per hour, on the hour, and it doesn't start until 8am. This means if your flight at the airport leaves any time prior to 10am, you have to take a $30-plus Uber or Lyft to get to the airport, if you can get one. Plan on adding a minimum of $30 to the cost of your room if you have a flight before 10am, and see if it's still a good deal.

That coupled with the lack of someone to even answer the phone tells me that the owner refuses to hire sufficient staff to be an ACTUAL AIRPORT HOTEL. We cannot recommend this hotel for anyone flying in or out of Dulles Airport.

My family and I have stayed at this Aloft Hotel many times when flying out of Dulles Airport. Every stay has been exemplary, and this stay was no exception. Carla B. And Michael V. went above and beyond during this ice storm. They not only helped us in sharing their recommendations for food delivery during the storm, but also assisted us in locating Covid testing sites, and navigating changed flights... they are genuinely kind people that went the extra mile to assure we had an enjoyable stay despite the stresses of travel during a pandemic and an historic ice storm impacting most of the country. I highly recommend the Aloft Hotel Dulles North for exceptional customer service. The room is clean, the beds comfortable. The pool was warm and clean and all safety and sanitation protocols were followed to a tee! Thanks to the staff at Aloft Dulles North and in particular Carla B. and Michael V. for your genuine concern of our well being.

Over the last several years my wife and I have stayed at this A-Loft probably 70-80 nights. This is near Dulles Airport so there are a bunch of nearby alternatives but we return here.

I like the simplicity of A-Loft. The lobby is informally appointed; a nice space with lots of comfortable seating, a bar and a pool table.

The patio is just as nice. During my stays I mostly work from my room and the patio is a great place to take a break, see the sky and get some sunlight. In fact, that’s where I am now.

Carolyn was at the bar. She’s a very sweet woman and a really excellent mixologist. Everything my wife and I had was very tasty.

It takes about 12-15 minutes to ride in the shuttle to the airport, depending on traffic. They share a van with a Hilton Garden which is next door. When we stayed there, the shuttle was quick to take you to the airport, every half hour, but we waited an hour for a pickup on our return flight.
