The rooms are clean and well appointed, and the beds are comfortable. Hotel is near restaurants, CVS and is just a short distance to Metro. We had a great stay. Extra special thank you to the manager, Angel, who helped us navigate a mistake we made in our booking and even gave us a room upgrade. What could have been stressful was instead a blessing, thanks to Angel. I would book this hotel again for sure.
We made a reservation through a third-party agent while on the road for Thanksgiving. Upon arrival, the desk clerk noticed that, though we booked for four people, the room given to us had only a king bed. He immediately put us in a suite with two rooms and two baths. It was wonderful. He also made sure we got our parking validation and checked on us to make sure the room was great. We asked in the morning for his name and the morning clerk said it is "Peter." So, hats off to Peter.
Room size: 5/5, cleanliness: 5/5, kitchen (not kitchenette): 5/5, water pressure: 5/5, Amenities in room: 5/5, water pressure: 5/5, shower: 4.5/5 Very nice size room great for couples. Comfortable mattress that’s not too firm or too soft. Three pillows with extra blankets in closet. All amenities such as hair dryer, iron and board, kitchen accessories, and good drawer space with closet and 10 hangers. Laundry and dry cleaning service from room. Great shower but no shower wand. A tall 6.5’ person will have no problems. Shower Head does not have different settings but does move well for those of us that like to rinse the soap off the walls. Breakfast was very good with what looked like real eggs and good sausage. Plenary of other options like waffles, yogurt and fruit. Has gym and second floor pool that are more than adequate. Very good access to mall, restaurants, and shopping. Parking on site. Very close to the Foreign service institute and other businesses. Highly recommend…
Our son moved from So Cal to Arlington last fall. We have visited a few times and always stay at this location. We bring our teen son and get a king suite room, so he gets the sofa bed and his own TV and we get our King/TV. Makes life much easier when traveling with a teen. Love the kitchen for heating up leftovers or just snacks from the store. This hotel is about a 10 minute walk from out son. There is a grocery store two blocks away and so many fabulous restaurants just outside your door. Only a few blocks from the Metro that will take you nearly anywhere you want to go. Staff is pleasant and the breakfast is hearty and plentiful. Nothing bad to say about this Marriott location!
I had no complaints with the Residence Inn Ballston, which is unusual for me. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The hotel was very quiet, which surprised me being right in the middle of the downtown area. There are a number of restaurants within walking and the area felt very safe. Two metro stops are about .5 mile walk. Breakfast was basic, but the staff was always available to clear away dishes, replenish food and make things orderly.
This hotel was perfect for our family of three. Having stayed at a few hotels post COVID I can say that this was the most pleasant stay we've had recently. The staff were incredibly friendly and the rooms and facilities were very clean. Breakfast was plentiful but there are a lot of fantastic places walkable nearby as well. It is also a short walk to the metro. There is also a cute playground and park across the street Now for the bad. This place needs a face-lift. It doesn't even look dated but some of the furnishings are in disrepair. Both dining chairs in our room had holes in them, and you could tell that the cabinets were extremely cheap because they were all chipped and some were even water damaged. That aside, I would still stay at this location and recommend it due to the convenience of having a full kitchen and being walkable. …
Residence Inn by Marriott Arlington Ballston Arlington 851803627 Situated in a great area with tons of restaurants within walking distance. Easily accessible with a nearby metro stop. Front desk & cleaning staff was very good. They always responded to our needs. Breakfast was good too, varied every now & then. Breakfast ladies were very efficient esp Mariela who always did her job with a smile. During our weeklong stay, we found 1 incident of a dog poop in one of the 2 elevators. And it was left un picked by the owner. Hotel finally attended to it but it was a horrible sight. It's a pet friendly facility but the owners need to consider other's convenience as well. Otherwise very pleasant stay at the hotel.
This is a convenient hotel, especially for families and pet owners. It’s near a park, a library, numerous restaurants, and the metro, and the suites have convenient kitchenettes. Unfortunately, it’s clear that standards are falling. Cleaning is more every other day, and our room was missing basic items like dish soap. The breakfast is not as generous as it used to be. The patio is in a state of disrepair, full of weeds and broken glass, and we even saw a dead rat. Some laundry machines were broken.
We stayed in the property knowing this is not 5 or 4 start even. it accommodated us and had to call everyday to make sure someone came and made and cleaned the rooms. even then some of the utensils were not so clean. that all I was still ok with because of location and the fact we had two connecting rooms for myself my husband and my family and of three daughters. What I found completely and utterly unacceptable is this. when we check out on the 15ty. of July my family and I left two swaddle blankets for my 10 year old daughter which are her security blankets that she never travels without as well as my poncho. i called them and reached out immediately early morning the 16th and they said they never found anything and I asked for them to check again. they asked me to call again. i called again and they kept on telling me they never found anything and that they tried everything ( clearly not) I remember leaving that poncho and I know exactly where I left it. We remember leaving other stuff in that room that we didn't want. apparently there wasn't anything to report. No swaddle blanket no poncho no sneaker ( the ones we left on purpose) no shampoo and conditioner ( new bottles only used once) nothing was found according to them!! let me say this.. it easy for you to stay and it's an ok lace with mediocre service but make sure you get everything or else it's lost forever!!! Never staying there again. EVER!!! i never wrote reviews but this time from that kind of response I got for following up on this I just had to! i mean my stuff was gone even though we were nice to staff and tipped well! it was still gone!!! unbelievable!!!!…
3-year-old granddaughter, who swims multiple times per week at both indoor and outdoor pools without incident, slipped and fell at this property’s pool. Split skin open by her eye. EMS was called. Taken to Children’s Hospital Emergency Room where they put in stitches. Front desk was VERY unhelpful. Didn’t know location of nearest hospital, vague about location of nearest urgent care. Happened on first night of 4 night stay. No one followed up to see if she was okay. Marriott blocked my review on their website. No foul language. Nothing but facts. VERY disappointing!
