Our family stayed at this hotel for almost 8 months and during our stay Oscar and the crew made our stay enjoyable even with the ongoing pandemic. Oscar and staff go out of their way to make you feel at home and to make make sure we were 100% comfortable during our stay. They are very accommodating and made our long term stay excellent. When in Arlington VA the only place to stay is the Residence Inn Ballston. Top notch customer service!
We had two stays here in August while preparing for a move. It’s a good hotel for longer stays because you get a kitchen. Not a great kitchen but met our needs. We had two different rooms, both were studios with small yet noticeable differences. The bathroom in the first had an odd design. The shower door opened to the right making it awkward to get out. Second room it opened to the left. Both showers you had to be inside of to turn on, which was not the best design. Neither dishwasher worked well so just wash things by hand. You’ll have to bring your own dish soap. There are many restaurants nearby if you prefer not to cook. We really enjoyed the Sweetleaf, Lebanese Taverna, and Rustico. Plenty of options. The AC was the hero of our stay. The 90+ degree heat outside was not an issue with their superstar AC. The pool was closed because of COVID but the gym was open. Small but enough for cardio and some free weight lifting. Staff were all fantastic. Friendly and helpful. Parking was $22 a night. Good thing work covered the cost because it added up quickly. The tiny business center had problems. Scanner didn’t work and copies weren’t very clear. Better to use the FedEx store down the street.…
We stayed 2 nights visiting our daughter who lives in Arlington. The Residence Inn was a perfect choice. Very easy to walk to many shops, restaurants and the metro. Room was clean, spacious and quiet. I was nervous traveling in the midst of a pandemic but felt very comfortable here. Everyone was wearing masks, clear signage to encourage social distancing and hand sanitizer in the elevator. Housekeeping is on a request basis only which I appreciated as this shows concern for the safety of both guests and staff. If you miss breakfast like we did, there is a great place around the corner, Ted’s Bulletin, that has nice breakfast options. Be sure to try the Ted’s Tart. If you are traveling with children, there is a playground across the street, Mosaic Park, that is under renovation and looks like it will be awesome when complete. It will have a water feature. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.…
Walking distance to ballston center, super convenient location. Parking was an additional charge. Very nice room, free hot tea and coffee 24/7. Nice breakfast. There were yogurts, bagels, muffins, fresh fruits,.
I’ve have stayed in many hotels, including Residence Inns. This property has been the best so far. Very clean, helpful and friendly staff, great location. With dietary restrictions, we like to stay where we can prepare our own meals. There is a Harris Teeter a couple of blocks away which made it very convenient to stock the pantry. The breakfast that is included provided many options and was tasty too. I was not expecting daily maid service, but was happy it was provided. We utilized the laundry facilities and were happy to see they were well serviced and reasonable as well. I highly recommend staying at this property.
