We booked three nights for a family event, on the rec of a family member who lives in the area. I regret that we didn’t spend more time reading reviews and exploring alternative options. When we return to the area again, we’ll stay somewhere else. There are so many hotels in this area; something has to be better and Crystal Gateway Marriott should DO better if they want to stay in business The Pros: Proximity to metro Proximity to restaurants Proximity to CVS for water, snacks Free regular airport shuttle, even on Sunday Water pressure The Cons: Random charges: check your bill thoroughly. We were charged for daily parking though we were visiting from out of state and had flown into the area. It was addressed, but an unnecessary hassle and did not inspire confidence. Towels: check before you use! We’re so glad we did. One of ours was covered in brown streaks, one had someone else’s hair all over it, and these were the “clean” ones in our bathroom when we checked in and when we used the app to ask for extras. Thin walls: we felt like chiming in the casual conversation happening next door it was so clear. Less so, the late-night show. Sloped beds: super uncomfortable. Mushy and seemed to slope so that when you were laying down your feet were higher than your head. Airport shuttle: while free, it makes several stops at other hotels before hitting the airport, so plan your shuttle departure time accordingly…
Stayed here for one night as I had an early flight from Reagan National. Not much to complain about. Hotel foyer is quite large and spacious. There is even easy access to the Washington Metro line through an underground walkway. The walkway has a number of shops and restaurants though most of them close early. If you plan to drive your car or rental here; keep in mind parking is not free. It costs about $ 42 per day though with In/Out privileges. Also, the underground parking structure is not suitable for large vehicles such as large SUVs or pickup trucks. I had a hard time maneuvering around the parking lot in a Toyota Tacoma rental. Thankfully the lot was not filled with vehicles. Airport shuttle is free and does fill up quickly. While the shuttle going to the airport does not stop at other hotels; it does so if going from the airport which explains why it runs every 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can take the Washington Metro line and get off at Crystal City station, then follow the pathway to the front desk. If you plan to pickup an Amazon package using the lockers at the Embassy Suites Crystal City, it is about a 5-7 minute walk from the hotel.…
Wonderful place to end a visit to DC and stay overnight before heading to the airport! The M lounge provided a great place to relax and unwind after a long vacation. The lounge staff was extremely friendly and accommodating to all patrons. The breakfast amenities in the lounge were also amazing. The room was super clean and so were all the hallways and common areas. This hotel is situated over a tunnel that includes a mall with a lot of local businesses as well as direct connection to the Crystal City metro station. That was a very convenient feature. The only issue I noticed with the hotel is the front desk staff could kind of care less about providing you any information upon check in and aren’t very helpful if you want to schedule a car service to go to the airport or ask simple general info items. I was a little surprised by this.…
My wife and I stayed at this hotel from November 28 to December 3, 2022. While the hotel was extremely busy and while most of the staff were difficult to engage, we nonetheless experienced one of the most tradition bound and most courteous service in the M Club. That was all due to Ms. Cynthia Garcia with her down to earth mannerism and easy to approach posture with genuine desire to make guests happy. We had a distinct privilege of experiencing her outstanding service attributes which are rather rare these days. Ms. Garcia, was most personable, most charming, hard working and most efficient M Club staff who from day one continued to give us royal treatment in the lounge and continued to make us feel like we were the most important guests. She made sure that we were always well taken care of by her despite lounge being extremely busy. She became our Ambassador for spoiling us throughout our stay. She was full of smiles and cheers and that truly brightened our day. We are very appreciative for her special attention and special service. Ms. Garcia represented a perfect art of brilliant service. We thank her for her exemplary service and wish her well.…
Facility is very clean and a very professional staff. Beds were very comfortable. I was on business travel and would definitely stay again. Conveniently located to nearby shops and eateries and in close proximity to the airport.
Stayed here one night for first time in many years. Nice price on a weekend. Hotel is easy to find. We used self parking, lot was underground, narrow, and not easy to navigate. Hotel interior has been maintained well though and staff were all helpful. Grand common areas, nice rooms, concierge lounge had nice evening appetizers and a very good breakfast buffet. We would stay here again if the opportunity arises.
We stayed in the Arlington Tower on the 17th floor for 4 nights. This hotel is extremely convenient if you plan to use the Metro. There is a clean and safe tunnel that connects to a nice Metro stop. (Crystal City - blue line). You do not need a car to visit the attractions in DC. The blue line goes directly to stops on the mall. Many excellent restaurants are also within blocks of the Metro. The Metro felt clean and safe and we were impressed. This hotel is also one Metro stop away from DCA. We had a very late arrival and a very early flight. The Metro was not running at those times but we easily found an Uber within 5 minutes at 3:45AM. The ride cost $14 from the hotel to DCA. As for the hotel itself - we were impressed again. Very clean and new feeling. Very comfortable. I would absolutely pick this hotel again for a DC visit. We had a great trip and a big part was the clean and pretty hotel combined with the metro proximity. It was lovely not having to deal with a rental car and parking in a major city.…
Please make sure to credit the housekeepers on the 12th floor on November 8th. They were super nice. This a good convention hotel. You can reach it from the Metro though the signage could use some work, and dont make the rookie mistake of going to the Marriott Crystal City instead. The bedding was quite comfortable and the climate control allowed for more cooling than most hotels. The fitness facility was excellent by hotel standards. Has the usual very good-but-not-great Marriott breakfast buffet with an omelette station. The shower pressure could also use some work. Caveat: ask not to face the Potomac side (east). You'll be right on a major highway. The soundproofing is good but not so good that it can drown out sirens and diesel. And as noted below,
I stayed here after a late night arrival at DCA last week. A few observations: 1) The rooms are in great condition. The furniture looked to be recently replaced, everything was clean, and there were ample outlets. 2) The Wifi was fast and reliable. 3) The shuttle was too full to take all of the guests when it picked me up from the airport, resulting in having to leave some guests behind to wait another 30 minutes. The shuttle bus was quite small for serving 3 large hotels. 4) The lounge looked to be newly remodeled and gave access to the full breakfast buffet that came in the restaurant too. It was well equipped with lots of hot and cold food options. Overall, this is a really good choice for a late night arrival or an early morning flight out of Reagan International Airport.
The bedding in my double room was super comfortable. Great toiletries included. The room had more lighting than most rooms I've stayed in. The hotel staff was great and was willing to work with us to make sure our meeting was successful.
