I brought my granddaughter to DC for the weekend and chose this hotel because they had a hot tub, pool and full breakfast. The hotel was in a quieter area and it was easy to get around. The buffet breakfast was very good (eggs, waffles, cereals, bagels, etc) and the dining area was very clean. Kudos to the employees tending to this area. They were friendly and did a great job. Parking was $25 a day and the parking garage was not clearly marked as to where to park for the hotel. Check-in was fine: not a warm greeting, but adequate. Hot tub was super foamy. My complaint is this~ Who goes to DC hotel on weekends? FAMILIES. Why do families chose this hotel? For the accommodations. So why in the world would you have the pool and hot tub open after 11:00am on weekends, when checkout is noon?!? Breakfast ends at 9:30, and if you want your kids to be able to swim, you basically have to wait until 11:00 am on weekends to let them go for a quick swim AND be out of there by noon. My suggestion-On weekends, to accommodate families, open the pool at 9am. …
Located right above the Court House metro, this hotel is in a really convenient location for access to DC and Northern Virginia. There are tons of restaurants and shops nearby too. The staff was helpful and friendly. Currently, they are cleaning rooms every other day but would be happy to provide daily service if requested. I would say the room was comfortable and well-organized. It’s especially convenient to have a full-sized fridge with ice maker. It would have been nice if they provided dish washing liquid. (They likely assume the dish washer is sufficient!!) But the bed was comfortable and the kitchen/bath modern. The breakfast was far more varied and of higher quality than many hotels at this price point. The gym was good and clean. The pool and hot tub were great but the hours are somewhat limiting for anyone wanting to use it for morning exercise.…
Stayed here to fulfil a wish from my last trip to Arlington. The neighborhood is lively and accessible. 4 mins from the metro, it is handy for shopping, dining and entertainment. The side entrance leads directly into the plaza. The room was spacious and clean. All amenities that come with any Residence Inn facility were available. Service was great, will definitely recommend.
Stayed at this hotel recently for an NFL Commanders game. Many hotels have a roundabout where you can drive up to the door to check in. In front of this hotel, however, is a recessed curb that can only accommodate about 3 vehicles at a time. Other than that, you may have to circle the block or park somewhere you're not supposed to until you can pull up to register. If you are using the parking garage under the hotel, take your time driving in. The entrance is on a steep decline somewhat, and it also curves. The room was great, comfortable beds and pillows, plenty of towels, nicely appointed. The breakfast was also well above average. One of my pet peeves is over-scrambled eggs, but these eggs were scrambled nice and fluffy. Also, there were fresh fruits, pastries, chorizos, sausage, bacon, etc The hotel is less than a 60 yard or so walk to the Courthouse Metro Station, super convenient. There is an AMC movie theater that is even closer. Overall, it was an excellent stay. I'd stay again.…
Convenient, well located hotel in Arlington. The room was spacious and well appointed - with the kitchen having everything we needed for our 2-night stay. Our only issue was parking - the hotel offers paid spaces in its very small underground lot. On our 2nd night, we drove down into the garage, only to find out it was full. Backing out from the very full garage was a treat. It would have been helpful to know the lot was full before entering. Other than that very minor issue, the staff were lovely - including the very cheerful housekeeping staff - and we felt very welcome. There is a happy hour cash wine/beer tap in the lobby, too, which was a nice touch. And again, location was perfect for our stay.
I recently stayed 2 nights for a business meeting. I checked in online and my room was ready when I arrived. I had a studio suite, which was clean and well equipped but somewhat dated (textured walls). The AC unit was somewhat loud. Only one small bar of soap is provided. There are bottles of liquid in the shower, which I don't care to use. The hotel provides a complimentary breakfast, which was pretty standard. There was a fitness center and indoor pool. The fitness center is a little small for the number of people who use it. The property is located conveniently in Arlington, within walking distance of many restaurants.
Marriott needs to ensure there is appropriate staff assigned to their properties. When I arrived for check-in at the Residence Inn by Marriott Arlington Courthouse, there was an angry person ranting about their reservation error to the beleaguered front desk attendant. Unfortunately, because he was apparently the only person working that day, there was no one else to handle the long line of people trying to check in that began to stack up behind the angry person who didn't have the decency to step aside. If there had been a second person working, it would have been easy enough to keep the line moving and deal with the angry person's problem. Instead, those of us who just needed to check in quickly had to wait 30 minutes while the person who'd booked at the wrong hotel and was upset about her own mistake ranted and raved at the poor desk clerk. There should never be just one person working. The room was fine. A little dated, but quite spacious and totally serviceable. The hotel is walkable to downtown Arlington and the subway, and thus very convenient. It was quiet and I slept well. Unfortunately, the only thing I will likely remember about this hotel is the scene at the front desk and the long wait to get to my room after a day of travel.…
My wife and I spent 3 nights. The staff was friendly, location was very convenient to the Metro and other decent restaurants. I rated this a 3 because despite multiple complaints we could not get the shower to work. Hot or cold nothing in between
We stayed here during my business trip to DC in early April. The location was convenient to my meeting venue and to other DC sites. As a titanium elite member, I requested an upgrade to a one bedroom suite but was told there was none available. I asked if there was one available at any point during our stay and was given one after our third night. I am allergic to down feathers and bedding so I always request feather free rooms. The first room they gave us was fine but the second room was not feather free so we had to wait a little longer than expected for the room to be ready. We were able to work remotely from our room as it was relatively quiet and comfortable. Kermit Turnquest, the operations manager, was very welcoming and accommodating upon check-in. He made sure the pool opened at some point during our stay as I informed him that one of the reasons we selected this property was because it had a pool. Overall, I recommend this property for its convenience and comfort, especially if you work remotely during your stay.…
Stayed here in Apr 2022 with my wife and toddler. Overall we had a nice stay in a 1 BR suite here. Standard Residence Inn amenities of what you would expect. Here are the positives/negatives: Positives: -Very convenient place to stay near DC - Metrorail is right there (Court House) and there are tons of restaurants to walk to along with Whole Foods and the Market Common (Apple store etc) all right there. -Breakfast staff were very friendly and made sure the food was fresh throughout the morning service. -Clean rooms and bathrooms with a Keurig in the kitchen Negatives: -Very narrow underground parking garage -Not specific to this RI, but I really don’t like the bathroom setup where the toilet/shower are separate from the sink - in other words I want the toilet/shower/sink vanity all in one place behind a door so I don’t wake anyone up when using the sink -No bathroom fan -Smallish fitness room but this is balanced out by being in a walkable neighborhood with lots of opportunities for outside exercise weather permitting. -Ice maker was broken - didn’t pursue maintenance just bc we didn’t want anyone in the room -Last night sink overflowed and the garbage disposal was broken - I did call front desk at 8pm and they said maintenance had left for the day - again I didn’t pursue it since we were leaving the next day. I see there are a lot of negative reviews for this property and I’d say give it a try - especially for a family coming to DC and needing a suite hotel with a kitchen that’s metro accessible and close to lots of stuff like Whole Foods. But of course a business traveler on their own might be a little more happy at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View where I typically stay (needed the RI bc I was with my family). That Renaissance has a great restaurant, concierge lounge overlooking DC and the river, great fitness center, etc. Just comes down to what you need.…
