Detailed Reviews
Not many universities in the Philippines have a hotel inside the campus... We booked an overnight stay here as our son was taking the UP entrance exams (UPCAT). Being already inside the campus, this ensured that my son would not be unduly delayed by Metro Manila's notorious traffic snarls
The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. The 3 beds that came with the room were comfortable. Though only having 1 pillow per bed, the pillows were comfortable.
Only soap and shampoo came with the room. No dental hygiene kit was included.
The hotel food outlet served tasty freshly cooked set meals (no Buffet) at very decent prices, though breakfast was not included in the price of the room.
The air conditioner and refrigerator performed well.
Here's a bonus: The hotel gave a 10% discount for guests taking the UPCAT and rebooking our room due to the postponement of the exam brought about by a typhoon did not incur any added cost. And to top it off, the food outlet opened early (430a.m.) to serve its guests taking the early morning UPCAT schedule.

This is the only hotel available to alumni and guests at the University of the Philippines campus in Diliman, Quezon City. It is badly maintained and very much mismanaged. The first room they gave us had NO Wifi and there was a dead roach in the bathrom. The towels were so ratty (actually had holes in them) that I had to call Housekeeping to change them. I also had to ask for additional pillows. Well, we were there on business so we needed WiFi. They transferred us to another room, with weak WiFi and no roaches so we decided to stay. After checking into this second room, we went down for dinner (food is nothing to write home about). A couple of hours later, my husband decided to go back to our room and work (I stayed downstairs with a group of friends). To his shock, the room was unlocked! Thank God nothing was stolen. Turns out the lock was not working. The maintenance guy could not fix it. So we packed our bags yet again and went into a third room. The Wifi was barely working here but outside, near the stairs, the signal was strong enough. Unfortunately there is no air conditioning outside the rooms. But we decided to sweat it out because we wanted to stay on campus, where I grew up. After a couple of days we realized Wifi is generally very bad throughout the Philippines. (TIP: Go to the UP Town Center's Globe Store and buy a pocket WiFi - about $50).
The one saving grace of this hotel is the staff. They are friendly and eager to help. It is through no fault of theirs that the hotel is in shabby condition. Over and over, as we faced numerous problems and several room changes, they were apologetic and eager to help. Bravo to the staff, who are all working under impossible conditions. I am SO disappointed at UP. It is unbelievable that this hotel cannot be managed properly. As one of the other guest said, "run it like a BUSINESS for heavens sake!" The best university in the country cannot even run a hotel ? No brainer here. Replace the manager. They cannot even manage decent Wifi - why not consult the academics at the Computer Science department?!

A simple and clean hotel. Suitable for people who are guests of university conferences. Breakfast was not at the cost of the room. The cooling system was also old. The pressure of the shower was also low. But the surroundings were beautiful and the hotel was calm. The restaurant's and balcony's atmosphere was fascinating.

Awesome experience. Pet friendly and very courteous staff. The security is perfect while ambience is far from the polluted city.
Lots of expats made stopover while the gazebo accommodated (20pax) my oldie friends.

I had asked my dad to turn up the thermostat of the aircon. We left it open at check in, and went to bed at 11pm, so it was really pretty cold already. This was on April 30, 2017. During afternoon, we enjoyed staying cool inside the hotel for the make-up and preparations for the up coming debut of my niece at night. Held in Balay Kalinaw. Just walking distance from University Hotel. We rented the biggest room good for 6 pax. Two rooms were joined by a connecting door that fitted us all. The restroom was smelling fresh. Included in the toiletries were shampoo and soap only. No toothpaste. P.S. I love the capiz chandelier in the stairway.

Forget about staying in this place. Rooms are old, musty and will poorly maintained facilities. Even shower supply was inadequate. The only reason perhaps to stay here is one has something to do inside the University. Otherwise, there are better options within the area.

Compared to other hotels even outside UP, the rooms are costly. The ground floor rooms dont have stable connection to wifi. Usually for this price, it already includes breakfast, but the accommodation doesn't offer free breakfast. The cafe downstairs however offer a good range of meals for an affordable price and good serving size.

The room was big, the bathroom too, there was hot water (unlike in the university hostel), small fridge, aircon. The staff is nice and helpful. It’s clean and probably the best place to stay on campus.

To say that the hotel is a bit old is an understatement. I couldn't agree more on the comment of the reviewer below that the hallway would make you feel as if you're in the set of a classic horror film. Haha!
Wifi speed is also a major letdown. I had to get out of the room and go near the router to get a decent signal.
You should bring your own toiletries since the ones provided by the hotel are inadequate. They don't provide toothbrush and toothpaste while shampoos come in tiny sachets. They also insist on making you pay for an additional towel if you need one since they only allocate one thin and worn out towel per guest.
Nonetheless, the rates are affordable, the front desk personnel are accommodating (especially kuya on graveyard shift on July 30, 2016 who was very helpful, sorry, I was not able to get the name) and I needed a place that would be within walking distance to UP-NEC, so I guess the hotel still deserves 3 stars.

generally, the place needs renovation... rooms are affordable and nice but along the halls, you'll feel somehow that you're on a classic Filipino Horror film xD but the location is very convenient esp if most places you'll be visiting is around UP Campus.
