You have to remember what you are paying for and where you are, different countries have different ideas about service within the service industry. With that said, I cannot say enough good things about the staff at stonehouse, friendly and sincere people from top to bottom. The hotel is meticulously clean, and the food in the restaurant is as good as you find in the area, breakfast was particularly good. I will be back there everytime i go to the philippines, and i look forward to seeing the staff again and again.

My fiance and I love B&Bs and we always try to find a new place whenever we are traveling. We've stayed at 4 or 5 B&Bs in Metro Manila during different visits and have enjoyed them all. But when we decided to get married in Manila, we chose the Stonehouse Inn for the ceremony and the reception. We'll be married there in July 2010.

Not only was the staff wonderful when we stayed there in 2008, they have been very helpful in arranging our wedding.

The bar/restaurant was great. Several nights during our stay they had a live band. It was a nice, cozy environment, and we ended up returning to the Inn for dinner just about every night. The complimentary breakfast was such a good deal that I had to leave extra large tips so I wouldn't feel guilty......lol.

I would recommend the Stonehouse Inn for business, leisure or family gathering.

We stayed at this hotel because we needed a place to stay that was nearest to the hospital where a family member was confined in. I didn't really expect much since we only needed a simple room to stay for the night. Check in was a breeze and the hotel staff were pleasant and accommodating. They showed us the rooms to help us decide where to stay.

Unfortunately I was not able to sleep much that night with the aircon that sounded like a generator. Water pressure was not too strong and you'll have to stay closer to the shower head. I am not very squeamish, in fact I have stayed in B&Bs much smaller than this in local travels. But expectations are a bit different in the Metro.

We paid P2k for a room that is good for 3 pax. If not for the location (and the traffic along Tomas Morato Avenue), we could have stayed in other hotels/ B&B in the area for the same price. I just hope they can do major room renovations, re-modeling and major cleaning. The hotel should not settle for something basic and "can-do". StoneHouse has made a name in QC and they should be able to keep up with the growing number of hotels in the area. Also to capture a wider market while still being able to provide affordable hospitality.

I'm optimistic... never mind that they put the dessert on top of my rice. Or that I killed a mosquito the size of a coin inside the bathroom. Stonehouse should be put on top of the list again.

We booked a room in this place last 16th of October via booking.com.

The place was nice and the room was really cozy and comfy to stay in.

Sadly, when we went down to the breakfast lounge (their restaurant), we were served COLD corned beef, COLD scrambled eggs and COLD fried rice, as well as freshly-made pancakes. My boyfriend and I ate half of each dish.

Three to four hours later, both of us started to experience really really intense stomachache and severe diarrhea. We couldn't go through with our date anymore, because of our plight! We went to the hospital and had to get treated there! I spent around 4000 pesos for the hospital bill, while a room in this place cost 1500 pesos.

Overall a great place to stay in, BUT DON'T EAT THEIR FOOD IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HAVE FOOD POISONING.

Aircondition sucks big time.
Room service as worst as the aircon unit.
Restroom is as old as the aircon.
Stonehouse equates into Stone Age of hotels.
Sogo hotel is a better option
Would not recommend the place to a weary traveller.
Comfort is not at in their definition. Nor is quality customer service.
If you call them to inquire for room reservations you are directed to online booking where you will be charged more for online booking service. Front desk staff are not at all attentive.

Unfortunately, it seems you came at a bad timing. No excuses will be given since I do not fully know the circumstances behind the clients stay. Admittedly, the pass few days have put a strain on everything mechanical and electrical due impending heatwave. It was not only our establishment that experienced aircon failure. Places like cafes and retail store even at greenbelt are sweltering in this heat. It seems budget hotel is not the preference of this client based on history but if customer service is what is in question this needs to be addressed. Your comment though has been noted. thank you.

Very affordable with staff so very accommodating. I would never change it with other hotel. Bar is very okay. Jazz music is a destressor. Location is a big plus. Very near St. Lukes Hospital. Also near in Tomas Morato - nice place. Really a home away from home.

I did not like this hotel, and found the pictures on their website very misleading. It is not a very nice place, and it is located in a not-very-nice neighborhood. I reserved the Diamond Suite, which was advertised as having two queen beds big enough for 4 adults, but the beds were only about 140cm wide, which is not queen size. Consequently, it was not big enough for my family, and we had to change to get two rooms instead, which of course cost more money.

The rooms weren't very clean, smelled strongly of old cigarettes, and had a very noisy and old a/c that kept me awake at night. I would definitely not stay here again.

We are sadden by the thought that you did not like the location. But that's where it is. Others have explored the places around it and enjoyed the experience especially the night life. I guess if you asked they could have directed you. With regards to the bed this is queen size in local standard. I guess you are actually 4 full grown adults. Quite a number have seen the value of this room. But if you will find same prize for 4 adults you really got a better bargain. Good luck and thanks for the visit.

This hotel provides all of the necessary amenities, even in its cheapest rooms. My wife and I had a more-than-satisfactory stay for sixteen nights, in this establishment. The street was central and reasonably quiet; the room was very cozy, with perfectly-functioning air-conditioner, toilet, shower, and cable TV (which provides a wide variety of local and international-based channels); the room cleaning and maintenance were flawless. In addition, the complimentary breakfast was always wonderful, with a buffet added onto the fixed menu choices (sometimes, when there was a crowd in the restaurant, breakfast servings had to be slightly delayed, but this was hardly a major issue for us). Free wi-fi was available in the restaurant, too, and the evening entertainment was mostly good, as well. The complimentary juice-on-tap in the reception area was another nice touch. What made the stay great was the staff, who were all very efficient, very obliging, and extremely friendly at all times. When combined with the room prices, this place provides excellent value for money, and it just might be the best budget hotel in the Metro Manila area. All that I must add for the benefit of potential guests is - please don't expect a five-star hotel with five-star amenities/facilities, but please enjoy the service and the prices! (By the way, this was our first ever stay in this hotel, but we would dearly love to go back to it, whenever we visit the Philippines, again).

Thank you so much for the wonderful response that you have provided us. Having stayed with us for 16 days and complementing the service our staff has provided you is very useful to inspire them to even do better at their work. They truly are the key factor to the success of a humble accommodation like Stone House. They adhere to our mission which is to make Stone House your "Home away from home". While I admit booking only through online references, I will NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. My family was staying there because we needed air con for the 10-month old, but when my wife took a picture of the room as a remembrance of her trip. The staff went nuts and insisted she delete the picture immediately. Kind of stupid, if you ask me, since there are pictures all over YouTube of their facility. There are too many good hotels in the area to put up with this kind of nonsense. I called and asked the staff what the problem was, and they just said "security". Like I said, absolutely stupid because of all the pictures on YouTube. The family is checking out in the morning, and will move to a more accommodating hotel. Stupid, stupid, stupid rules...

It took a while to respond to this feedback only to find out that there was a miscommunication. Taking photos was never a problem in our hotel as proven by the photos taken by other travellers. The concern was after checking out customers are no longer required to go back to their room and lock it out from staff due to SECURITY reasons such as vandalism.

I stayed for a pleasant 2 weeks, I had a room on 4th floor which was quiet and cleaned daily if required. Roof top terrace was lovely. Nightly entertainment was wonderful. No complaints for the price I paid. Looking forward to visiting again.

Yes there are smoking ang non-smoking rooms. Just tell hotel desk to give you a non-smoking room or request your room to be cleaned properly removing smell of smoke. There are stubborn guests who smoke even on non-smoking room :-)
