My friends and I decided to find a hotel in QC near Tomas Morato because we were going to attend a special occasion somewhere in morato, I found hotel rembrandt through browsing on web coz' i remembered one of my friend saying "i check mo online yun hotel rembrandt". at first I was hesitant there website is ok somewhat helpful but the pictures are not as inviting as the other hotels room pic. i was still looking at other options but when i checked their rates it was really affordable and it was at our budget range. so to make sure that they do really have an online booking i decided to call the hotel for further inquiry. i was pleased with the way they answer my inquiry it was really helpful and detailed. the girl from the reservations that answered my call is really friendly and said to one of my inquiry that it's up to us.
that's one of the reasons we chose hotel rembrandt.although they don't have a swimming pool but they do offer a family suite (good for families and barkadas) which other hotel around qc doesn't have, one of our main concern is the head count in my observation they are not strict for us it's not really a big deal and is a plus because we don't have to be concern with regards to hotel charging for extra persons/heads. although some of us may not have a free breakfast only 2 persons per room has free BF. it's not really a big deal because they do allow room delivery just call any fast food chain give the hotel address and room number then you have instant breakfast in a much lower cost ( in our case we called jollibee). when we got to the hotel i wasn't expecting much because of the reviews some have bad comments of the smell and how old the hotel is but when we arrive in our room which is room 421-422 (by the way they combined to rooms to make it into two bedrooms) not a big deal for me. it has a door inside that connects the room from one another. the way the room is very clean and also the T&B is clean. it has 2 cable tv, 2 mini ref.,2 T&B. the room capacity is 6 pax due to it has 3 double beds but in our case we are actually 10 adults & 1 child and we fit in this room. i was expecting an old hotel room with old furnitures and etc. but NO it was renovated as my friend told me which is a good thing everything in the room is ok like other hotels that i have been in it's the same NO smell, the aircon is ok. at night we decided to have a drink in our room the 7eleven is very near it's just walking distance from the hotel, when we got back to the hotel the horror the 7eleven lady didn't put the bottle opener we have purchased how in the hell are we going to open the bottles of san mig & tanduay ice then we called the hotel service and ask for bottle opener the room boy got up and said they can't let us borrow the bottle opener but he told us he can open all bottles and he will give us ice, extra glasses for our drinks and plates for our pulutan with spoons n etc. no charge! yes thank you! hotel rembrandt with your good service. well yes the hotel at night is somewhat near the noisy bars & etc, we expected this already because we are familiar with it's location. overall our stay in hotel rembrandt is verygood like our other hotel overnights i will never forget the experience.

The surrounding of the location is away from a noisy, busy streets in Metro Manila. Nearby is a line of comedy bars and the two tv stations of the country. - ABS-CBN and GMA. Riding a taxi to SM North Edsa, Trinoma and Robinson's Magnolia is more or less Php 150 (about 3.50 USD)

This mid-range hotel had a smell of an old building but the services of the staff is kinda great. Slow food service yet polite food server

First you have to keep in mind that this is a 2 star hotel. The hotel was built in the 70's and have some renovation made in the basement bar and lobby. The rooms are old but have modern furnishing. However you will get the same congenial hospitality from the staff as you would get in any 3 to 4 star hotel.

What I liked about the hotel:
1.) reasonably priced
2.) provides a great Filipino breakfast selection Free
3.) friendly and pretty staff

My chief complaint with the hotel are as follows:
1.) the room smells like a sweaty gym socks
2.) the AC is loud and the thermostat is broken.
3.) the refrigerator has mold
4.) the hallways are dark and outdated

WiFi doesn't work in the rooms, everything is dated and quite old/dark. Good TV channel selections and good breakfast.

I prepaid for 3 nights but only needed 1 night/2 days. I asked to refund or provide a future credit for the 3rd night but they wouldn't budge (non-refundable rate) even though I told them they would lose future reservations but management didn't care. "Couldn't see the forest for the trees" ... if they provided 1 night future room credit, it would have paid off for them in many more room nights ... instead, they lost a lot more in future revenue. With the current world situation, you would think they might have some compassion for their guests and provide good customer relations as an investment.

Do not stay at this property, especially with WiFi not working in the rooms as promised.

My wife had an absolutely horrible experience at this hotel. After coming from a long flight and being stuck in heavy traffic for hours, the front desk ladies took a very long time to check in my wife even after I already paid for the hotel in full prior to check-in. Even after showing them a copy of the reservation on her cell phone, they still wanted a hard copy or email copy of the reservation. They took a very long time to give my wife her room just because of this issue. After waiting for almost an hour to get to her room, her stay in her room was terrible. The TV was not working and the Wifi connection was not working for her entire stay at the hotel for 4 days. She asked numerous times from the front desk to fix the TV and fix the Wifi internet connection. They told her each time that the engineer will fix the TV and the Wifi connection but nobody ever showed up. Also, the room was filthy with dirt coming from the aircon. She found black residue on her bed after waking up each morning that came from the air conditioner. Plus, the carpet was dirty and stinky due to over use, which triggered her asthma attack combined with the black residue from the aircon. She also tried to eat downstairs for the breakfast buffet but it didn't look clean and so she left. One time she tried to eat dinner in the hotel but didn't like the food and so she left to go to another restaurant outside called Susie's Cuisine. While eating there she noticed that the females working at the front desk at Hotel Rembrandt were dating old men inside Susie's Cuisine while on duty wearing their uniform. I'm sure if my wife was one of these dirty old men staying at the hotel that she would have gotten the VIP treatment instead of being treated like an underclass citizen. Her stay at this hotel was horrible with poor quality service from an uncooperative and snobbish female front desk staff, and with malfunctioning TV, no Wifi, dirty looking food, dirty carpet, and dirty air conditioning. I made the mistake of reserving this hotel for my wife for a couple of days which I will make sure never to do again. There are plenty of other hotels in the area to go to that are much better than this. I regret wasting my money on this hotel and I feel sorry for the terrible experience my wife had to endure.

We checked in this hotel last April 14, 2013 because our reservation to the other hotel was cancelled so we didn't have any choice but to try to checked in here since this was the closest hotel to ABS-CBN. So they gave us a room on the 3rd floor, the lobby, the elevator up to the hallway was smelly its like I'm walking on an old shabby building. There is some kind of shaking in the building as if some one is drilling the place, then we found out that the air-conditioned on that room was broken so I called the front desk and asked if they can fix it or if they can transfer us to another room.

At first it was an old guy who introduced himself as Engineer went to the room and check on it. However, the same issue occur. We again called the front desk and ask again regarding the same problem. This time we overheard some rude reaction from the front desk and felt like the girl we're talking to is not interested to help us anymore. Then he ask a bell boy (if I'm not mistaken his name is Aries) to check on the room. however, this bell boy seems treating us sarcastically.

So the bell boy went and accommodated us to the room on the 5th floor..,he looked disappointed (I don't even understand why would he react like that) so I apologized to him for the inconvenience, but he just answered and reacted in a very sarcastic way. Their staffs especially night shifts are not approachable. I will definitely never come back to this hotel and I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS hotel especially to my local friends. Nightmare!

Whilst the housekeeping was good, the facilities has not kept up to at least a 3-star hotel standard. Hall ways are always dim, gives one the feeling walking thru the valley of death. Room was provided with two bedside table lights for the night and one downlight on the the doorway. Heavy drapes are always drawn due to the absence of other privacy media, as lace curtains, blinds or glass tint. (People can see you clearly from the road). Toilet leaks everytime you flush it. Shower screen leaks and wets the floor cloth whenever one showers. When using the room telephone, the user needs to steady the wiring to the mouthpiece to hear the other end. No tea/coffee in the room (guest is required to get them from the dining room). As to breakkie, I've seen to better places. (Don't expect continental). BTW, no health facility either.

Been here a couple of times already, last month was the most recent. The renovated rooms changed everything. The first few times I was here, it was already ok, since I'm not fuzzy when it comes to room details. But soon as I saw what has been improved, I thought to myself, I'm glad I didn't give up on this hotel.
WHY?
MY FIRST TIME: I just walked in, they were so accommodating even if I told them that I'm just inquiring, they let me see their rooms in an instant, it's not that the hotel is not busy, alot of people were in the lobby that time. They showed me TWO ROOMS to be specific, talk about service! Then I told them I'll come back and check other place first, I received nothing but a pleasant response.
With that, they already caught me. I stayed for a night, then extended for another 3!
The room service, the reception, the housekeeping staff were all very efficient.

LOCATION: So near to everything, bars, malls. pretty convenient for a night life, then soon after you want to retire, hotel is accessible.

Will def stay here over and over again!

Not having been back to the Philippines for almost a decade, nor having stayed in a hotel for almost 2 (as I usually stay at parents'), this review wont be in comparison to other hotels ie will just stick to what it is.

Firstly, the reason we stayed here was that we had to be in this district, ie Quezon City, to have quick access to certain places, avoiding traffic, and of course it was recommended by our travel agency.

Secondly, I found it very difficult to get in touch with the hotel directly, by email ie first there was a problem of trying to locate the correct address, then it was trying to get a reply, in vain. I had to call long distance to get answers on queries prior to arrival ('Thanks, Bea!'). I'm not sure if their technology/online faciltiies is to blame, but that area of service could use some improvement, especially for overseas guests.

It's not too far from the airport, less than an hour, WITHOUT TRAFFIC, During our 4D3N, we either taxi'd or UBER'd in and out, but for both modes, theres no difficulty in the drivers finding the hotel. Theres a TGIF next door and down the road, a bit of a walk if you dont mind that sort of thing, are restaurants, a mall and grocery. Convenient for where it is.

The reception/lobby is small, as the rest of the area is occupied by the main lobby restaurant where meals are served all day.

Check in was smooth as rooms were pre-paid; there is a nightly deposit, for incidental charges required, refundable (less charges if any/optioned) upon check out. We had reserved 2x rooms, which ended up to be connecting, which was actually what we wanted when we booked but was informed it wasnt upon confirming reservations. Lucky us!

I saw/used 2 pax lifts, small but fast.

The hotel itself is old, as such the room condition,eg furniture, carpeting, etc, which was fine, for the purpose of the trip ie this was not a leisure/vacation stay. Theres the complimentary coffee/tea bar so that's always a good thing in my book; requesting for more sachets is not a problem

Towels &or beddings are changed as per your requirement ie theres the usual offer to help save water. Housekeeping/cleanliness is acceptable, although my wife did cut herself on a piece of glass(?) in the carpet, which we reported to Front Desk for further/thorough vacuuming while we were away, as no MAJOR injury resulted anyway, and no similar accidents occured.

Beds were comfortable, queen sized for all rooms, including the twin room ie the rooms are actually quite big.

Lighting was adequate, bright enough, ie nothing like what I read in previous guests' comments here. WIFI is free but unfortunately we had a problem connecting for most of the trip, even after reporting the problem; technical problem I'm sure that wouldve been solved had we stayed longer. Luckily we had our own portable WIFI so it wasnt a big problem for this trip.

One of the rooms had a problem with hot water ie n/a, but was taken care of after reporting to Front Desk.

The rooms' aircon system is old and noisy, in general comparison. Doesnt really make the room COLD, but was acceptable vs the hot weather outside.

The thing I found strange was there was a wardrobe in one room but none in the other. Four people had to share, and thus the need of ordering extra hangers.

Room service is 24hrs. Options are alright, but portions are quite big, so that was a plus for 4 hungry adults in the middle of the night.

Breakfast in the lobby was a mix of filipino and american/continental. Limited seating, especially if theres groups/functions staying in-house. But our schedules had us come by/before 0700 so we always had seats.

One suggestion I would make is that the chafing dishes be lit earlier than opening hours so that the food will be warm/hot by the time of serving. There was also a problem with egg supply (for omelettes or fried) at the eggs station, besides the cook forgetting orders when overwhelmed with such. Maybe create some kind of system convenient to guests, the cook and restaurant staff for better communication/service? But we were satisfied with the options, especially the filipino food choices, but special mention must go out to server TRISH, for her service and attention to her guests, our table and others in her station, besides having to go behind the bar for other sideworks as well. Her kind/helpful demeanor always made our breakfast sessions all better in the end. 'Salamat, Trish!'

There's also Jasmine, and the ladies at Front Desk, Bell Service and the security guys who were always ready with a smile &or greetings, whether late in the night or early in the morning. 'Bravo, girls and boys! The service you provide is the backbone of your establishment, taking away any negativity from the quality of the hotel's old/dated structure, facilities, etc, so you should be proud of yourselves! Thank you!'

Overall, I'm sure the other newer hotels nearby or elsewhere similar would have a higher rating than HR. But as I said, it is what it is. We read up on the hotel's history/background and knew what to expect more or less. It wasn't a pleasure trip, for the short period, so the quality and facilties offered is actually acceptable, for the price and location especially. But as I've previously mentioned, being in the hospitality industry most of my career, I always pay attention to the staff performance, no matter how many star ratings the hotel claims, ie if a hotel fails to provide good customer service, no glamourous or high-tech facilties will entice me to give a good review, lest return or even recommend to others. I'm glad to say that this hotel's customer service is alright, can always be improved as it is in CS, but acceptable.

Hotel Rembradt is what it is, quaint...typical of its kind...totally... 'Thank you for having us!'

My friend and i stayed overnight due to an event nearby and its just a walking distance, In terms of service and location, its topnotch but the facilities and cleanliness needs huge improvement. I'm sure I asked for a nonsmoking but the whole floor and our room smells. There's no pen nor box of tissues available (unless you asked for it) and the food we ordered for room service and buffet breakfast is so disappointing. If we weren't that exhausted and pressed for time we can opt to go to other restos near the area. Such a waste since the place is too near ABS and other great places in QC
