Sequoia Hotel Upon checking in, I was asked how many will be staying in the room and I said 3. The receptionist pointed out that breakfast is just for 2 of which, I didn’t have a problem with. He asked for payment for 2 nights which I paid using my card and asked for Php 2000 cash deposit which I said I’s rather be put on hold from my card. Oddly enough, we were only given 1 key. I thought maybe there was already a card placed in the card switch socket in the room but when we got there, there was none. So, was the assumption is that we each one of us open the door every time someone goes out and comes back? I requested for an extra key which took time so I made another follow up. After a couple of mins wait, someone knocked and I don’t know if they were trying to be funny but 2 staff were holding out 2 keycards when I opened the door. Seriously? Room was small but nice. There was an electric kettle and cups, the usual hotel set up but they didn’t have complimentary coffee and tea set up. A small thing for Php 4200 per night rate. On our second night, when we came back from a wedding, it was so upsetting to discover that our keys didn’t work when we came back to our room. I asked reception why and she said the key expired. Again - seriously? You get 2 nights room payment but cut the key for 1 night??? The lady didn’t even apologize but rather, said she will check on the person on duty when I checked in. Then - no updates already. After the key incident, imagine finally being able to access our room and discovering that it wasn’t cleaned. I called reception, spoke to a guy and again, I was told that “he will check on Housekeeping”. When asked if my assumption is correct that all our rooms remain uncleaned, he said “most probably, yes.” WHAAAAAAT? Waited and waited to nothing so I called again and a lady answered. She told me yes that they are already checking on what happened………….. so I asked her what I should do - am i waiting for someone to clean? Am i waiting for their feedback on what happened? Ang labo. Also reported na din our AC that doesn’t cool and is noisy. In fairness, Maintenance people went up right away. But they just told us that “every so often, when the AC / room reaches it’s max temp, the AC goes to eco mode”. What are they talking about? The AC never reached a cool mode since we checked in 24 hours ago. Room attendant finally arrived and cleaned our rooms one by one. Of course, we have to do room hopping while cleaning was on going. Convenient right? Not. Cleaning was so-so - used cups were not replaced. You’d still see a paper on the floor. Bathroom sink wasn’t wiped. But then, at least the room was “refreshed” for the night. Too many on duty on a Saturday at the front desk - apart from the 2 ladies (there was a 3rd too) at the desk. There were 2 gentlemen walking around the lobby, doing nothing. There was a time they were just standing with the bellman talking. When a lady (guest) asked for taxi assistance, all 3 of them went out to hail her one. I reported our AC once again - that it is not cooling (despite being checked the previous night) and is noisy. They sent someone to check it out while I was gone. No surprise that I still came back to a noisy and uncooling AC. That’s when I just got tired and decided this will be the first and last time we will stay in Sequioa. On Sunday, a guy in longsleeves and tie was casually eating chocolate while standing outside the reception counter. There is no management presence in the property. The room is ok but I believe you’d be able to get a better hotel for Php 4200.00 per night you’re paying Sequioa. They do not have a swimming pool and the fitness center is just a tiny room with treadmill. No weights. Apart from the faulty, noisy and warm AC, you will get 1 thin pillow and a lumbar pillow. That’s it. No dental glass will be provided so you will be forced to use the drinking glass provided. Our room had paint cracks and the bathroom door had a hole so we had to put tissue on it to cover the hole. One of our rooms was released with the safety deposit box still closed. So we were not able yo use it. Not an ideal staycation hotel.

They gave us, a family full of kids, an unclean and reeks so much of cigarettes we can't enter the room for another 6 hours. We begged them to just change room but they said its fully occupied and the manager was not present. No amenities that was promised were given and the toilet was clogged. Holiday is ruined for us. Not going to make the same mistake.

Stayed here for my quarantine till I received my swab test result. The hotel's not that new but the room is so clean, especially the toilet. The mattress is so good, too, for a budget hotel. Kinda got lucky to have the room on the 2nd floor with a little patio, I enjoyed my sunset sessions. Was impressed with how they handle the covid-19 situation, too. They even placed small tables outside each room for food deliveries (food is from their restaurant only, grab and food panda are not allowed to avoin contact) and they sealed the food so neatly, I loved it.

When i entered the room, i noticed minibar ref was unplugged, open and empty. No hand towel set up. But the room is clean. Tv is not user friendy. Housekeeping staff assigned in my floor(5th) was accommodating and friendly. I would like to commend the ladies and gentlemen in front who always keeps smiling and they always greet the guest. They know what their job is. Definitely i will be back.

Positives: Very courteous, helpful, and efficient staff. Excellent house keeping. Good breakfast. Good location. Burger King just across the road and Jay Jay's is next door. Victoria Towers, a small mall, is a 5 minutes walk, where Mang Inasal cafe is located. Highly recommended for cheap and good Filipino food. The not so good: Had a very difficult time as wifi was very poor, erratic and undependable. Also, there was not a single drawer or a closet in the entire room. Had to literally live out of my suitcase for the one week I stayed there. Poor drainage of water in the bathroom too.

This hotel is a good thing for a work-related/business type hotel. I really enjoyed the stay, however the food was so creamy which I personally did not like, but their desserts were on fire it was good.

Stayed in Sequoia for a 4-day, 3-nights workshop. The hotel looks small but is a good business hotel. Accessible, complete amenities, and good customer service. Highly recommended for small-medium size (and budget) functions.

Stayed here for 4 nights and 4 days for a training. Here are my observations: Registration (Front Desk): process wise a bit weird. It was my first time to have my ID as collateral. Normally they'll have it for photocopy or a cash deposit. Room: Mine was spacious and the morning sunrise view was awesome. However, i think the water (shower and faucet) default is hot; linen and towels quite old; and toiletries limited (shampoo, soap only). Training room: has good tables chairs and spacious enough. However, access to the restroom was a challenge in terms of distsnce especially for the physically challenge and senior citizen. We were at the loft area. Food: I was impressed on the selection and taste especially of the lunch and dinner. There was also balance of meat and vegetable. Service Attendants: This area was something impressive. The assigned food server and maintenance were attentive and courteous 😀

It's a very comfortable hotel with amazing amenities like a bath tub. The rooms were cleaned daily, the staff were friendly, and the service was good. It's in the heart of Timog where you can visit a lot of places.
