In the middle of chaos and life called Metro Manila, PHILIPPINES, a diamond in the rough. Not so much as far amenities but for what they have, they deliver big time. I know there’s other places but this one is just right. A recent family tragedy, wake and burial close by and this hotel is god-sent. A place to rest, unwind, sleep. Period, job well done.

We stayed here earlier this month and we had an awesome stay! The rooms are nicely clean and well-maintained. What I like most is the lovely outdoor swimming pool where we spent most of our time during our stay.

Horrible place to stay. Roaches everywhere and dirty room, dirty pillows and linens. Hallway and walls dirty. Will move out of here ASAP! This place used to be clean. In dire need of updating! Not worth the money. I cant even say i get what i paid for cause this hotel is beyond horrible. Will not come back and will not recommend

LOCATION
This hotel is in a central location. It is off a main street, and there are a handful of restaurants within walking distance, as well as a supermarket. The main shopping centre chain (SM) is also within walking distance; SM Centrepoint. Location wise, there are plenty of tricycles parked near the entry, but you must check the prices first because they will ask for higher than average rate to take you close distances!

We stayed here because it was the recommended hotel for a wedding we were attending. For future though, I would stay at a different property.

HOTEL
The overall appearance of the hotel was quite tired. The customer service was very minimal, and the “foyer” furniture had small tears in the seats. The hotel has no elevator and I would not recommend this hotel to travellers that have elders with them, as there are a number of stairs and long corridors.

The hotel does have a pool. Again, this area is quite tired. The seated area with tables and chairs had umbrellas that had tears and there was no staff manning this area at the time.

Our room rate included breakfast, but it was a very limited breakfast - no fancy buffet arrangement with meal choice. We ended up ordering Jolibee (Filipino version of McDonalds) to be delivered to the hotel.

ACCOMMODATION
I believe we were staying in a Deluxe Room.

The main room entry door is the standard push lock key type (not swipe card keys), and I was a little disturbed when we first arrived. Our room had an odd smell, so we called for the staff to assist and she advised us they just sprayed the room with insecticide!

We did ask for a different room there after, which they were happy to provide, but following that comment it did dampen our stay for the remainder.

The room however that we did stay in was quite large in size. The air-conditioning was not centralized, but it was the click dial box version near the edge of the window / wall. The room also had a very small 34cm box TV at the opposite end of the room. The bathroom was very basic.

SERVICE
The service was quite poor - very limited. It felt that the same person that was making coffees was also the bell-boy and then attended to other duties as well.

OVERALL THOUGHTS
I’d stay elsewhere. Since we weren’t familiar with the area and this was the recommended property, we were relying on those that suggested this hotel. However, better luck next time!

TIP – Definitely eat at the local restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. As long as you’re not by yourself, the area has busy traffic, and the shopping mall would provide you better comforts.

Tonight, I am meeting my friend from abroad and decided to stay in this hotel since it is closest to where my guy friend was temporarily staying.

Here's what I have to say:

Pros:
Spacious room and rest room
Very good airconditioning
Cable TV
Closest to the mall and other restos

Cons:
No elevators. Not advisable for elderly, people with disability.
You will hear the outside world from your room. Right at this very moment, there's a man singing as if he owns the world and I can literally hear him even with the TV on.
The TV is just too small for the room.

Lastly, it has not been an hour since I checked in and my legs and arms are already full of mosquito bites.

Mosquitoes everywhere! The 2090 rate per night is just not enough for the money you'd pay in the hospital because of Dengue.

Won't stay here again. I won't recommend it also.

Of course the hotel was chosen because of the strategic location. The room price is fair and also comes with breakfast. You just have to be patient in reviewing which agency to contact because the hotel does not have an official website. For three days, we stayed at the studio room at the third floor only to find out they have a mezzanine floor (which houses students on internship). That technically places our room on the "fourth floor" and we had to go through these flights of stairs because they don't have an elevator! Another that might tick you off is the service. It took us almost an hour waiting for our breakfast composed of bacon, tocino and eggs. On the second day, we decided to place our order before going down so we can have our meals on time. However, it took them longer. We even have to hail several times at the wait staff to serve coffee. Reminding them to prepare your bill and receipt before checkout is useless. If you book this hotel, reserve for a room on the first or second floor especially when traveling with children or senior citizens.

I have been coming to this hotel for the last few years now because my Dad is familiar to the area. We stayed for 6 days here to spend time with them and the place is maintained, cleaned, and staffed well. I do not smell the strong insect repellent spray along the hallways anymore, the mosquitoes have diminished in the lobby. The floors are mopped clean on a daily basis. The staff members are always smiling, attentive and ready to help.
Breakfast is good for the price you pay. I hope they can make better coffee moving forward. Maybe we can start with French Coffee press? I don’t mind an extra charge for it.
The rooms are cleaned well and housekeeping is responsive. The concierge/security staff are helpful and friendly as well.
On this latest visit, I have noted a sense of pride on the staff members and this gives me joy and confidence that I can come back here for service that will only improve, and most of all a safe place where my Dad can come and rest well.
Congratulations to the team. Mabuhay!
