I was attending conference for whole the day. Hotel staff was not very responsive. The AC did not work for the whole day. In spite of requests to Management and staff, management did nothing. We were told the AC works slowly as the rooms are at the bottom but never did. It was as if it was deliberately not started.
Bad service. Will not attend any event at that location.

Me and the missus stayed recently at this hotel in a standard room. .....it had a passable bathroom, Manilas oldest concaved bed with a somewhat dreary dated furnishings and a windowless view. ...even for the 1600 peso paid it was below par. Caveat emptor. ...There is a lot better around. .......next door for instance

I'm sure in it's glory days this place must have been wonderful. You can still see beneath the run down and well used exterior a once beautiful women of a hotel. A grand story of a Swiss man building a hotel in this tropical paradise to remind him of a chalet in the Swiss Alps. Much of the heavy dark wood funiture and a once great bar area still exsists. The staff is plentyful, friendly and always polite. I had an interior room with no window so I could not hear the outside noise. The only noise came from some children running around the halls. The room was clean and the bed comfortible. Clean towels and a decent shower. Make sure you walk around Paco Park and Cemetery located across the street. It's kind of cool and would be very scary at night.

Staff here are good at apologising with a smile. (I guess they are experienced at that.)
The room by Phillipine price standards was in the 3 star range at $48
I complained about the mouldy smell and the air con that sounded like a freight train. I was moved to another room Thanks.
But.
No internet
No drinking water
No in room coffee or any supplies.
No Jug
No shower hot water
Fridge was stuck closed by decompossed rubber seal. And not working
Television was 1970,s. 15 inch tube
Air con window mounted noisy old unit ( not as bad as the first room)
better value else where.

Go next door to the Oasis hotel for the same price especially the 5 star dining excellent value there.

We checked into 3 rooms to avoid the floods in the area. Left an ipad when we hastily checked out to avoid further floods. I reported the loss a little over an hour after check out. Staff got back to me MORE THAN AN HOUR later saying the iPad was not there (though the tracking said it was before it was shut off). Makes one wonder what they did in that hour before they got back to me. Beware of this hotel.

I stayed only one night in Manila in between my flights. The Garden Place is miles away from the airport and you need to take a taxi. The rate was set by the taxi office but my driver had no change and also the reception at the hotel had absolutely no change. So he got himself a nice tip.

The hotel staff was not very friendly. The room was okay but you can see it is a pretty old place. Breakfast was included but not really impressive, some sweet rolls and jam and tea in a rather dark restaurant.
The mouse that ran pass my bed was the highlight of my stay.

We tried to check in to 3 different rooms all where no good. First one the door lock was broken you could not enter the room. Second room you could not lock your door if you left your room. The third room the AC unit was pulled out of the wall. It is 6 days later and they still haven't taken hold of our stay even though we left with out staying the night. this hotel is at best no more than a two star but it is showing 3 stars, stay away

Besides the musky odor that other travelers noticed, I had a problem to take a shower when I saw how the electric heater was hooked up with the ground wire just hanging next to the plug. I know that there have been several fatalities under similar circumstances and I thought that a hot shower would be nice but did not want to get the experience of being electrocuted under the shower (Philippines has 220 Volts...)

Pool was closed for maintenance, I just felt uncomfortable from the first moment I arrived.

This place was not worth the $ 40,- that I paid. Spend a little bit more and stay in a decent place instead.

We stayed at this hotel when we had our practicum in Jose Reyes Medical Center 3 years ago. We stayed for almost a month and I could say that they have an average and good accommodation for guests especially they are catering more than a hundred nursing students that time. They have comfortable beds, nice lighting, average breakfast. In terms of hotel amenities swimming pool on the rooftop was under renovated that time so we were not able to take advantage on that. They also have a laundry shop nearby and resto. In terms of location, It is close to Robinson's Ermita, LRT station, Manila Doctor's Hospital..it is right infront of Paco Park wherein our National Hero Jose Rizal was buried. The only thing since there's a very old cemetery nearby..some of my classmates and professor had horrible experience with the ghost roaming around the rooms. Its true!

Sorry but it is not the hotel i would have wanted to stay. Dirty, dusty, musty and old, stained beddings. Absolutely not suitable for kids. Pictures on the website isn't true. I agree with the negative reviewers. It is true. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at any time.. Staffs though tried to be helpful.
