We were a family of 5, 4 adults and one child.
We stayed here two nights and shared a suite, sofa’s in lounge made up into beds, which meant some had to walk through bedroom to get to bathroom. Which was ok as we’re family.
Service was bad. Got the feeling that they were short staffed. We ordered french fries from the pool area where we were having drinks. We waited over half hour and when we went to make enquiries we’re told that they were very busy. (They had a large party going on in one area) When the chips finally arrived they were cold.
I found it sad as this is a very elegant hotel from another era. Beautifully decorated. Pity about service. We were there en-route so it was ok.
Staff all very friendly doing their best.

helpful & accomodating staff, the rooms are quite spacious, pool is clean which the children enjoyed, with nearby foodchains & convenience stores to choose from, walking distance to Taft to get rides anywhere.
aging facility including linens.
quite disturbing is the lack of cleaning done for all 3 rooms we booked--dusty furnitures & dirty floors.
although, will definitely come back but will surey wipe tabletops before letting kids roam the room.

Upon check in, this hotel didn't even bother to tell us that they have no free breakfast. Have i known such, wont have stayed in this hotel. I asked for a complimentary bottled water and they will charged me even if the five days stay was already paid in advance with a complimentary breakfast that was booked by my company.

This is the “Manila Hotel From Hell” I helped my sister with the luggage to the room but was told to leave unless I decide to pay for staying there. I have never encountered such crazy service. The security and front desk personnel were rude and unprofessional. The room was old and the mattress was dirty as if it was taken from the street. My sisters vacation was completely ruined and she wanted to leave but was told it cannot be cancelled. God help us!!

PEarl Manila's Hotel rooms begin on 10th floor, high above traffic noise. Each room has an in-room safe with digital lock with your personally selected code. Built in 1998, guests receive free breakfast buffet. Rooms are spacious (queen beds), free newspaper every morning at your door and others available at ground floor entrance. Pool on ninth floor. 3 internet cafes located within 2 min walk of ground floor entrance. About 10 min walk to huge Robinson's Mall Ermita (and its food court and theaters) on Padre Faura Ave. Is just over an hours drive from airport (as are many Manila Hotels).
Gentlemen seeking passion and pleasure at nominal cost at LA Cafe (a famous bar on nearby Del Pilar Ave) will find the Pearl Manila Hotel a great choice. Cab drivers can direct you to other passionate bars and clubs.

If your planning for a long stay in Manila, look no further! We stayed 16 days at Pearl Manila Hotel "center heart City of Manila" closed to Manila Bay, it was a pleasure and inexpensive place to stay. I have brought my teenagers with me and they have a good time, although there not used of the weather because of the heat, traffic jam & noises they managed to adapt the surrounding area and have a fun with it. Since it was five of us, we managed to be able to get a 2 bedrm suite in a reasonable price, the staff are friendly, great room service, elevator & bell boys are nice & server are great. For that price it includes all you can eat breakfast in the morning which they served Filipino dish, American dish & continental breakfast everyday. The area are walking distanced to shopping mall, money exchanged, Manila Bay in Roxas Blvd., and the hotel have computer internet station & arcade where kids can hang out. A lot of transportation are available in the ground floor like, jeepney, side pedal cycle, bus, taxi and LRT train station. There's also a familiar fast food like Mcdonalds, Pizza Hut, 7 eleven store, Chow King & famous Jolly Bee etc.. We also did a tour packaged to see some famous scenery. Overall, I highly recommend this Hotel especially if you are planning to stay for more than a week, because of the reasonable price their bedroom suite are the best for 3 or 5 people.

We stayed at Pearl Manila for almost two weeks. Good facilities, convenient location.

The main problem i encountered is that the reception/front desk people are very confused, dont know how to calculate, very unorganized and very problematic. Thanks anyways, to the hotel manager for upgrading my reserved 3 superior rooms to a penthouse suite during my wedding day.

Another problem with Pearl Manila is the traffic noice. Unfortunately we always get even number rooms, and these rooms face Taft Avenue. I advice future guests to ask for odd number rooms.

Fourth problem, the housekeeping is not so attentive. We always need to call twice before they come to clean the room, provide towels, tissue paper. The room service is also slow and forgetful. We asked for hot water that didn't come.

Fifth problem, guests are only allowed from 7am to 10pm. 10pm is little early i think to disallow guests. And they tell you beforehand that guests cannot sleep with you in the room or you pay Php650 extra per person. I think that is the biggest BS they can say to you especially for a balikbayan like me whose main purpose of visit is to be with relatives and friends for few weeks. Of course i wont be comfortable sleeping with dozens of people in my room, but they don't need to reiterate it grandly that way.

In terms of facilities, i have no complaints. As Pearl Manila is a fairly new hotel, all things are in good working condition, except for one incident which is the dripping air conditioner in Room 1212 which they fixed in one call. Kudos to the maintenance people.

We have tried all rooms of Pearl Manila, superior, one bedroom suite, two bedroom suite and penthouse suite. I love their bed which is very comfortable. I love the living and dining rooms of the suites. I love the bathroom in the Palazzo penthouse with only mirror cover, so while showering you see the view of whole Manila.

The breakfast buffet is good enough. Got sick of it though during the last days of our stay. But this breakfast is much better than other hotels. They have a small bar restaurant with band that plays till 11pm which is cool. It's small but cozy and good enough to meet and treat old friends.

For almost two weeks of stay at Pearl Manila, although, it caused me some headache and hypertension dealing with the front desk, thanks so much for the good facilities and convenient location, that matters a lot. The price ultimately didn't matter with me as during the last five days of my stay i stayed in a 2 bedroom suite that cost $110 a night.

Good part - I left my wallet with credit cards and cash; the housekeepers found it, called their supervisor and counted the money in front of him and they left the whole thing on top of my bed. Very commendable.

Bad part - I arrived tired, hungry and jet lagged; made an error in counting the duration of my stay. The women in the evening staff were mocking me for my error and were very rude and unprofessional. They need double doses of lessons in customer service or not be assigned to deal with customers, maybe move them to housekeeping.

Manager and rest of staff were polite and professional.

When I first stayed here, and I stayed here a lot, for long periods of time, I noticed, something was wrong..The place was in disrepair, public furniture was filthy, carpets dirty, rooms smelled of cigarette smoke and I was eaten alive by either flies from the dogs they allow to stay in the rooms, or from other bugs...This was the only hotel, where my legs were covered in bug bites...I had to have my wife clean them and apply medicine...There was a new hotel manager there, known as the Dean, and she was very good, but received to help from the owner...Step by step she remodeled rooms, made the service better, and painted some rooms, and repaired the leaky aircon..Furniture was being both replaced or cleaned...Sad to say, we were told she is gone, and I am sure she was asked to leave, because she worked too hard, was too good, and spent too much money to clean up the hotel...I told her to be careful, that she will not be backed up, and now she is gone...Granted, rates are good, but for what you got, rates were not good...Elevators were hot, very hot...Hallways and public areas hot, or warm, if the employees had the guts to turn on the water coolers...Thank God, rooms have aircon, but most of them, leak water on the floor...The public staff is wonderful, but the senior staff is protected, for some reason, and do very little work...There is a woman, older woman, who will go into your room and make sure you not have tissue for your nose, even though it is included, she wil make sure you not have extra rolls of TP paper, and some days, we noticed our TP paper was gone..We are not saying she took it, but it was gone, and we tried not to waste it...Finally, after running out, several times, my wife and bought our own...Once, we always had TP paper, they no longer gave us any, so we had to hide our paper...It was not the maids, they are very honest, but they are not allowed to give you a backup roll of paper...So, to get our ration of TP paper, we had to hide our rolls, in the closet, just in case we ran out of hotel paper...A couple of time, we noticed our shopping bad was opened, since we knotted it closed...Since we bought a large package, since we stayed there for a month, we are not sure if any was taken, but an extra roll of hotel paper, was taken, which was sitting on the safe in the closet...If you want a cheap safe hotel, this is good place, sort of like a motel 6, but more like a motel 4, and bring TP paper, bring pool towels, they will not replace them without a fight, or begging for dry towels, wear slippers always in your room, carpet is dirty, and do not eat lunch there during the buffet, it is super costly, and food was warm, to almost cold, but food tasted great
