This hotel in the heart of Ermita offers rather large rooms for a decent price. Rooms have all you need (AC, fridge, TV, good WiFi, hot shower etc. Clean rooms. My room did not have a great view but I could not be bothered as I was there only to sleep. Breakfast included ( egg station, some Asian dishes, bacon, fruit etc). The hotel seems popular with Philippino families, which gives it a nice flavor. Friendly and well trained staff. Large mall ( Robinson) within walking distance with many dining options although the hotel also a restaurant and a bar.

I have tried staying at City Garden Suites for 3 times already. I really loved the pricing for this hotel as it is very affordable but of course, you should expect that the quality of this hotel is quite equivalent with it's rate. don't exceed your expectations, you get what you paid for.
I do not recommend that you stay here during the holidays because it can really get crowded. Also make sure to check your rooms first because on our third stay, our room smelled like it lacked "humid" or air but to be fair our room was a smoking room.
PROS:
* Very affordable nightly rate * Very Fast Internet / Wifi Speed * Great shower heat temperature * Decent & Clean rooms * Good breakfast buffet selections * Great Location ( Near / 5 Minute Walk to Robinsons Ermita, Shopping Mall )
CONS:
*Hotel Staff still needs a lot more training ( The staff are quite unprofessional, You might encounter with them chit-chatting with each other in the Lobby or the Elevator or in the Hallways ) * Expect that you will not be assisted automatically with your luggage, I have observed that they prioritize foreigners with luggage trolley assistance. * Extremely crowded breakfast buffet during the holidays. ( When we went down for the morning breakfast, it took 30 minutes just to have our eggs cooked and there were no more plates or seats ) * Few space allotted for car parking which are always full, We had to always park at the other street where we were charged PHP 150 by those street beggars. * Do not expect hotel events during the Holiday. ( They just had a dinner available during new year but no parties or fireworks whatsoever )
This hotel is worth your money if you are on a budget and not really expecting a luxurious stay.

pros: free buffet breakfast is the best part! friendly staff. very convenient if your going around manila area especially parks , like luneta park, fort santiago, etc..
cons: room is quite dusty. beddings are old. pillow is dirty though. maintenance staff are cleaning the rooms everyday but seems not quite good enough ,spoke to the maintenance staff but no avail.

This event happened on 15 Dec 2023 at around 130-3 pm. I was appalled by the poor service from the receptionists at the counter. We have paid and reserved two (2) rooms (The Deluxe) with special request to have the rooms beside each other so we can enjoy our family reunion this December. The reservation and payment were settled as early as October 2023. However, upon reaching the hotel, we were only offered 1 room with 1 big and 1 small bed (The Deluxe room) - Rm 211, and the option of another room with 2 single beds (The Standard room or The Superior Double) because that is the only option available on that wing. Otherwise, the receptionist told me and my husband that the only option is to have a room at another hotel wing. My husband and I told them that we need a big room and beds because of our family's needs. Hence, we settled for rooms on separate wings, though we were not satisfied with the offer. We went up to check Room 211 and saw that is up to our expectation then decided to go to the next room. Upon seeing how small the 2nd room was though it has 1 big bed, I realised that we were offered another room that is not up to our needs and expectations (from my estimation, it is similar to The Superior room, which is smaller than the one we paid for). Hence, I confirmed the booking information with my relative, who told me that the rooms we should be given are two (2) The Deluxe Rooms (1 big bed and 1 small bed, room size 25 sq m). I don't understand why we were offered smaller options when we had paid for a big room TWO MONTHS AGO! When we approached the counter to clarify, the receptionists did the following: - Can't respond to my question whether a Deluxe Room should have 1 big bed and 1 single bed OR 2 single beds ; Instead of apologising to us, another staff at the counter called someone to check if we had already used the room or not and even said that "my husband had already sat on the bed" when we did not even stay for more than two (2) minutes in the rooms when we checked them ; Another staff quietly mentioned to another to "just offer the other room" ???!!! The receptionists eventually gave us two (2) The Deluxe Rooms (210 and 211) that are beside each other within around 10 minutes of complaining at the counter. The question is why were those rooms not offered to us, in the first place! It is extremely frustrating and disappointing to be treated this way. I felt that the staff attempted to cheat us off our money since they offered us smaller rooms, which are cheaper than what we actually paid for. Furthermore, the rooms offered to us initially made it inconvenient for our family to be together, on a very rare chance for us to reunite for the Christmas holidays! What kind of customer service is this! I hope the management of City Garden Suites Manila investigate this and ensure that this does not happen to any client again. I would like to be informed of the outcome of the investigation and any action on this matter.

It was a nice hotel for me because it's near to where i have my appointments, walking distance and so many restaurant nearby. They also consider early checkin (if there's available) which is a super plus points for me, because you can early rest when you came from along trip which we do at that time, so it was very nice of them to have us check in earlier that the standard time with no additional fee ( 3 hrs earlier) so thank you we really do appreciate that. staff was also accommodating, And Of course the room it was nice, clean. The room is so cold its just the blanket, it was too thin for me not the usual comforter but the bed is okay. But over all it was a really nice stay. Thank you.

Greedy. You have to wash your own bed sheets. Be very careful not to leave a stain on the white, precious bed sheets. Desperation is in the air in this facility. They charged me because there is a stain in the bed sheets. I dont think they wash the bedsheets here. Unbelievable.

I reserved a room for my 5 day quarantine. The employees were the best I have had ever staying in Manila. They are very accumulating to ones needs and will provide extra coffee when needed. I will make this my go to hotel in Manila during my travels! Thank you staff!

The city garden suites hotel is a good 3 star hotel. I have been staying there for years for my arrival night and departure night when I visit the Philippines. The hotel has good rooms with nice old style wooden floors. The showers work well and you have everything you can expect from a 3 star hotel. The hotel is safe with an in room locker and a security guard. The hotel really improved its breakfast (more choices and more fresh fruits) and it is close to Robinson mall and some nice night life places like Cowboy Grill and Calle 5. Furthermore it is within walking distance of Rizal park and the Roxas beach boulevard.

My Mom and I stayed at City Garden Suites located in Ermita Manila. I selected this hotel for our 10 days quarantine because I’ve seen good reviews at You Tube We really had a wonderful and awesome stay. From the day that we walk in till the day we walk out.and true to the blogger of which I’ve watch the blog ..the ambience of the hotel is welcoming.the food is good ..the Chef I think really creates a menu with love and passion. The room we stayed is clean a little outdated but has all the comforts u need.from the bed to the kitchen and to the bathroom.and overall the staff service is excellent and way beyond their work. My shoutout to Ms. Camille on the front desk,to Kevin who always smile when delivering our foods in the room,to Coco to Maine and John from the housekeeping dept. to Ms. Myra and Ms.Michelle for helping me with my hotel bookings.these 2 ladies gives fast answers to my query. YOU all made me and my Mom very happy with our quarantine stay..I’d rather say this hotel is highly recommended 5*rating..again thank you all very much .ABSOLUTELY on my next vacation I will stay here. Poor business practices.while on phone lady changes prices after I give her c.c. information.I asked to cancil,she hung and never call back.check in 20 min.1st time over 50 years ,they asked all 7 people i.d. booked 3 rooms.some dirty..charge 100 water in room.unsafe location,many beggers, hookers in area.breakfast good but food 90% filipina.poor policies and mangement.recommend city garden grand makati,close to same price, very clean safe area.great experience .

Sorry, we still do charge it as if you stay for 1 night. Our standard check in time is 2:00pm and check out time is at 12noon the next day. So whether you check in late your check out time is still at 12noon. We do allow late check out but subject for room availability. You may visit our website for further inquiry.
