There are cheaper hotels around the area but I chose to return to Manila Lotus Hotel as I'm familiar surroundings. Greeted by the security guys who double as doormen with a warm "Welcome Back Sir". Check in process went along just fine with the usual refundable P1,000 security deposit. Was assigned Room 318 (3rd floor) as the elevator was being serviced (it remained out of service for 3 days) Had help with lugging my baggage up to the room. Note, this is now a non-smoking hotel. Room Clean, bed comfy and air conditioner works fine. TV also works. Amenities Instant coffee and tea bags with sugar and creamer with a hot water kettle, small refrigerator. 2 glass tumblers and 2 sets of cup and saucer. Restroom Hand lotion and soap dispenser and Hair Dryer at the sink and shower had Bath Soap and shampoo dispenser. Toilet Paper and bidet available It used to be that the rooms also came with 2 bath towels and 2 face towels, now there's only 2 bath towels. Also little things like dental and shaving kits are only made available upon request from the housekeeping people of front desk. Food - Breakfast buffet that comes with the room is still good, but I did notice that they had cut back on food options. Didn't see any bacon during my whole 9 day stay. Also the iconic Mr. Vic is no longer there to greet everyone and anyone with his infectious smile and warm personality. The only thing that bugged me is that on 3rd Sept after there was quite a heavy downpour, I returned to the room late at night I found a puddle of water between the window and bed. Apparently there's a leak somewhere, the only thing that housekeeping could do was to towel dry and leave towels by the wall next to the window. All in all a good stay, but will be checking out other hotels for my next visit to Manila

I booked thru agoda but upon checking in they could not find my payment so until this was resolved they kept us waiting in the lobby. They first have to check with their sales dept and of course it all takes time. I asked can we just check in while they sort this out. Not possible the reception said so ask for manager. Well manager nowhere to be found. Kept waiting until they said its my problem and i have to deal with agoda though its their agent while i have a confirmation from agoda that its paid. I could not find the tel number of agoda so i ask the reception if they can contact agoda which they finally did upon my request. Its a bit strange as agoda confirmation said its paid and lotus garden hotel said its not paid. It should not be my problem. Whatever the issue is just let me check in. They dont allow. You can have my cc, id or whatever. No they did not let us check in. 1,5 hour later it turned out my cc was not charged indeed. But all the time they kept us waiting while we just could have stayed in the room. I understand there is a protocol but where is the manager. If there is an issue they just can call me in the room. Its also funny that i had to pay 15 pct more for the room than agoda confirmed to me as they swiped my credit card again. But after 1,5 waiting i got tired of the issue. If you expect some customer service better go somewhere else. The shower has no water pressure but i dont care about the room but an ear where i can bring up an issue. So i just talked to the restaurant manager ( nice person) but she is not in charge. Since i could not find anybody to talk to i have to resort to tripadvisor.

Booked in Februarry to stay in December 2020, flights cancelled as no overseas visitors allowed. Contacted hotels.com and hotel directly abiout a refund and was told, 'Sorry sir, special price no refund! ' the price I paid is more than the current advertised price. In the current climate this is very poor, I realise times are hard but do they really think I will lose the money then rebook? Also hotel.com must have influence on the hotels they promote, so its a big never again for these two. My advise is never book here, they are thieves

This hotel is a designated QUARANTINE ONLY hotel for transients. They will accept a reservation and payment, but you cant stay there. Good luck getting a refund. AVOID! It was a nice hotel when it was open to the public.

i was looking through hotels for the quarantine when i accidentally click on this hotel and prepaid the booking via Agoda. I immediately called to request for cancellation but the hotel didnt agree for a refund. Furthermore, the booking is for 5nights wherein the quarantine only needs 3nights stay. Requested for the extra 2 nights to be offset for meals, but hotel has also refused. Outside food deliveries are not allowed but you can ask for grocery item for delivery?? hotel is taking advantage of the situation to earn more. Agoda is willing to refund only if the hotel agrees with it but the hotel only offered an alternative dates of stay for cancellation request or for the unused nights. With the pandemic situation the world is facing now, no one knows when will this even end! Therefore, i am left with no choice but to push through the booking. Will be arriving today for my unwanted hotel stay, hopefully things will eventually come around coz im having negative views on my first impression!

We arrived in the early hours and were allocated a very basic double room. It was clean but small with an awful view from the window. Next morning we upgraded to a much bigger lighter room with 2 queen beds & a kitchenette & and we were much happier. The hotel staff were lovely & friendly. Buffet breakfast with Filipino & European food was good. Location was great for bars & eateries & a shopping mall. Good value even with the upgrade charges for a city hotel.

Stayed for one night, hotel is okey, room was nice and cozy, clean as well. Buffet breakfast was excellent, lots of variety. I enjoyed the filo dishes, fish, soups, pansit etc. the only downturn was the layout of the hotel.. it’s confusing as I get lost trying to find my way back to the room as I need to transfer from one building to another. That’s what I thought that is. Receptionist is so and so, can’t say much as they don’t really interact with me. Just took my ID And then gave me my room number. Overall, good enough for short stay. Best buffet serve at breakfast amongst the hotels I’ve stayed in my last visit. Great ambience in the breakfast area. By the way, excellent customer service by one of the guard on duty as he goes out of his way to help us find the Mall even though his already finish his shift. Can’t remember his name but he is the one residing in Tondo, he mentioned about the place where mountains of rubbish we’re damped. . Quite a nice gesture from hotel staff, highly commendable. Will stay again if in Manila

Dear MS Cherry C. I would like to thank you for sharing your experience with us after staying at the Manila Lotus Hotel. Our pricing is comparable to similar properties in the area and we feel we provide good value given our central location and inclusion on the room package. We regret that this was not your impression and offer our apologies. As for our service, I want to take this matter up with the concerned individuals and I would be obliged if you could send me a mail on hotel @ manilalotus. com so that I can correspond with you and get all the details about this incident. Once again, I sincerely apologize for the short falling that you experienced although this does not reflect the standards of our hotel. We look forward to receiving your contact details by email. Centrally located - minutes from Robinsons mall and US embassy - Walking distance. It appears that the hotel has recently been renovated as the check in and restaurant area had a new modern look. Check in was fairly easy - they offer SMOKING rooms for the smokers - a 1000 peso cash deposit is required. We stayed in the Superior room - it was clean and spacious enough for 2 - the bathroom was also big - they provided the usual amenities at request for free and provided replenishment of water bottles. They offered room service until 11pm and the service was quick. They provided basic cable service and standard WiFi - 10 mbs download / 3mbs upload. We avail the buffet package - which provided plentiful dishes (mostly Asian cuisine) and an egg station The security was excellent and the doormen were very helpful. Highly recommended if you plan to stay in the area - you wont be disappointed

My 'go to' hotel whenever I visit Manila. Although I've noticed a little drop in the service level from the reception/check-in staff. They don't seem as friendly as on my previous stays. Check-in was a breeze, when I got to my room, as usual I would check the locks and found that one of the locks could not latch on due to the misalignment of the door with the door frame. I informed the front desk and they sent the maintenance guys to check it out. Once they found that it could not be rectified, they informed the front desk who immediately reassigned me to another room. Daily buffet breakfast which was included in the price I paid for was very good a usual. Service staff had a greeting and smile for all the guest. And of course the 'iconic' Mr. Vic who gives his usual warm and friendly service to make you feel very comfortable. The only 'bug-bear' I have is that when I was about to check-out, I asked the reception staff if I could use the computer to do an online check-in for my flight back to S'pore since there was a problem checking in with my cellphone. The answer was that I had to pay for use of the business centre. Really?? A regular customer just wants to use the PC for a few minutes to check-in for his flight and you can't even spare that without payment??
