I have stayed at this hotel when in Manila for the last five years. I always get on the Internet and check out other hotel reviews and always end up back at Las Palmas. The same happen this time and I have no regrets.

The hotel is always clean, furniture is dated, but in good condition, air condition works well, plenty of hot water, convenient to U.S. Embassy, Robinson Mall, Baywalk, clubs (all walking distance) and Mall of Asia short taxi ride about 50 pesos.

If you been to the Malate area before you know there are beggars so if you cannot contend with that you had better stay in Makati.

Staff of Las Palmas friendly and helpful. Restaurant okay, but nothing to rave about. I eat there when I am tired and do not want to go out. Room rates are good. If you do not smoke be sure you request a no smoking room.

I was a walk in cause first hotel I had messed up my reservation and next I tried was Quarantine ONLY. So hotel is modern, big rooms, I had a balcony so all good but lots of good concrete hotels.
What stood out was the efficient friendly staff. Doorman/Bellman "Jade" was the best, 100% on the ball. Made sure I was squared away. On the front desk "Cel" & ""Carla" both excellent nice efficient. I am sure other staff were good but these three shone. They are the kind of staff every hotel wants. Yes next run to Manila I will stay there just for these folks.

When I first got off the plane in Manila, suddenly this lady runs up to me and convince me to stay at Las Palmas Hotel. This is One of the worst mistakes I made in my life. Every Time I turned around the hotel was charging me for everything from dirty towels to guest who would visit me etc. The hotel Staff was rude and disrespectful! My Filipino friend came to visit me at the Las Pamas Hotel, and she says the concierge and staff always talk bad about there guest to every Filipino who comes and visits them, and give the guest a really hard time. They Charge 1300 peso per visitor. Me and my guest almost got into a fight with the Concierge and Staff, because they were being so rude to me and my guest! One concierge called my friend a wh@#* and fat and other thing horrible things in there language, she did not want to tell me everything they said. I could not believe it! I did not come here for that. I came to relax and enjoy myself. I stayed there for a week and had to clean my own room and change my own towels because the hotel staff just did not bother. Everyday you step out the hotel lobby doors you are bombarded with dudes trying to sell you girls for the night, and they do not stop harassing you, they just sit their in front of the Las Palmas Hotel and wait for your return to Harass you even more! Please DO Not Stay at this Hotel.. You will come to regret it , as I did!

I stayed there for 8 days and all I can say NEVER EVER. It's a hotel on street cross section, you can hear during all night car horns, so ear plugs are must have. The guests doesn't follow any sleeping hours policy, so expect to be awake several times during night hours. There was a strange smell in my room, probably due to humidity and mold and dust, couple of my colleagues including me got sick during stay. The food in hotel was terrible, no any international food standard, poor way of food preparation, the breakfast was fair however. Hotel needs renovation badly and more professional staff.

Dear Dino O, We would like to thank you for taking time to share your review through this site. We are very sorry if your standard were not met while staying with us, as we understand that we cannot please everyone. As for the location of the hotel, it is a fact that we are located in the busy district of Manila and another factor that we are very close to different entertainment establishment and different tourist attractions. We do take note of your comments about the room and the food. But we really every guest we have to call our attention particularly while still at the hotel so that we could do the proper checking of the room if there’s something room and same with the food to avoid further concerns. Nevertheless, we still want to see you again on your next visit, for you to see how we improved. Thank you so much and hope you will be back here. Sincerely, Elliessa Maclang-Marantan Hotel Online Supervisor

Don't leave cash in the safe deposit box behind the front desk. My friend left $1200.00 in USD, 100's 50's and 20's. When he checked out and cleared out the safe deposit box everything was there, passport, wallet with Credit cards, but $800.00 of the $1200.00 was missing. They have keys for it, so be careful. Everything else was just fine.

This hotel was pretty much average for the price and for the neighborhood. We have stayed all over this area over the past 12 years so we have some experience with the area. Though the nightly rate was reasonable everything else in the hotel was exorbitantly priced, but that’s also pretty much average for hotels in this area. WiFi was almost triple the cost of other hotels we have stayed at in the neighborhood. The one thing that really stood out about this hotel above and beyond every other hotel I have ever stayed at in Manila and around the world was that they inventoried the towels in our room while we waited downstairs to check out. They then instantly accused us of taking a cheap wash cloth and tried to make us pay some petty amount for it (in the neighborhood of US$1.50). It was then my responsibility to go all the way back up to the room that I had already departed to prove to the hotel staff that I did not steal a cheap wash cloth from the hotel. The wash cloth was of course in the room. I really could not care less about $1.50 but for a hotel to so quickly make accusations and try to shake down their “guests” for any amount is absurd. Stay here if you want, but we never will again…

I have stayed at the Las Palmas several years ago and it remains the same place I knew back in 1999. It is in an unattractive area with a less than desirable ambience. Safety and sightseeing are not big priorities in that part of Manila. The hotel itself is tolerable and for an overnight stop you could do worse. The Price is not as cheap as the decor would suggest it should be. I am not trying to put down the hotel you just pay more than the value of the environment would seem to warrant. I have stayed in some fairly low budget hotels in and around Manila and this is nothing special; nor is it horrific. So I believe the are better option the Bayview Park Hotel is close by and only about $25 dollars more. I guess I won't stay there again for it has naught to recommend it. I choose ity again think it would be a cheap alternative to some other around, I was on business, but for the price difference I would sleep better else where. Staff was courtesy ands the room were semi-clean.

This hotel needs a renovation badly, although from other reviews it seems like this is happening in some rooms already.

The room I was in had a window that opened on to a fire escape, and the window couldn't be held closed very well so not very safe for leaving valuables.

The service in the restaurant is very poor, once a colleague waited for 25 minutes after ordering a steak only for the waiter to come back and say there was no steak (there were no other customers other there has our table). I also got food poisoning so stopped eating there.

There was no kettle in the room, just a flask which housekeeping would put some warm water in if you asked.

The tap had some sort of flow reducer on it which created a fine mist that sprayed over the area around the sink, including my clothes.

The laundry can take a few days to be returned.

The breakfasts were cold, if there was any think left when I was there.

The walls are paper thin and you can easily hear the people in the surrounding rooms. There's also a lot of noise from outside.

On a positive note, the staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful, and the wifi was (normally) very good. The car to collect me from the airport was on time and the assistant waiting exactly as planned.

Dear JJJamieson, We would like to thank you for taking time to review your stay with us. We feel sorry that there are areas which we did not meet your expectations. We do understand that different guest has different standard when it comes to hotel accommodation. But rest assured that all those feedbacks were given attention for the better. As for the food, no record of food poisoning was reported. Hence, we could have done the initial and necessary investigation if this was relayed to us on right away. Also, we would just like to inform you that some room amenities is actually upon request which will require you to contact the concerned department. With regards to your laundry, we are sorry if it takes few days to be delivered as this could really happen especially if we have lots on queue. Same with the noise, due to the hotel is located in busy streets of Manila; a quite surrounding is not a guarantee. With all those inconvenience that you have mentioned, we do appreciate the positive feedback about our front desk staff, the internet connection and the airport transfer service. We still wish to be of service to you again in the near future. Again, thank you verymuch. Sincerely, Elliessa Maclang-Marantan Hotel Online Supervisor
