The room was opened and both the air conditioning and TV were on when I reached my room. I was initially scared that somebody must be inside.

My beddings, AC, TV, shower, etc are all old and should be updated. It was slippery in the bath tub and I could feel a bump at its bottom area so I decided to quickly finish my shower. The cleaning of my room was not done well.

The neighborhood is composed of some high rise buildings, private dwellings, restaurants, vendors selling their wares, tricycle drivers waiting for their passengers, Pure Gold Grocery, etc.

I booked and paid for 2 nights, but only stayed for 1 night when my Korean Air flights were changed. Did not feel that I would stay here again when I visit Manila.

The hotel breakfast food taste good and the portion is big. No iron and blower was provided, they will charge 100 pesos per hour once you request for iron or a blower. The room is spacious, the water heater is working on and off even they fixed it, it will still be cold after some time.

My family spent 3 days and 2 nights at Paragon Tower Hotel in Manila sometime in November this year. We chose this hotel because:

1) It is very close to Rizal Park, to Ocean Park, to the National Museum, to Intramuros and to Dad’s World Buffet where we had a dinner reservation;
2) The hotel has very good reviews here in Trip Advisor;
3) It has a big room that can accommodate a family of six (4 adults and 2 young boys); and
4) The room rate is affordable (PhP3,500 per night or approximately $78)

When we arrived at around 11pm, I asked if I need to make a deposit, the hotel staff very nicely told me we can just go up to our room and rest and make a deposit the next day. Very thoughtful, right?

So here’s what I think about the hotel:

ROOM: More than enough to comfortably accommodate six people. The room has 2 king size beds that are firm, pillows are soft, the linens are clean. The room has a sofa, an LCD cable TV (not so big), a mini refrigerator, an electric kettle, a dresser, a coffee table with chairs, a big mirror and a big closet with plenty of clothes hanger. Aircon is working fine, just a little bit noisy but no big deal for us.The room did not come with free breakfast.

BATHROOM: Clean with basic toiletries, four bath towels, hot and cold shower, good water supply, a toilet and a bathtub.

SERVICE: Excellent. The staff are friendly and responded to our requests promptly. I booked this hotel online and exchanged email with their staff since August of 2014. They were very accommodating and courteous.

FACILITIES/SECURITY: Basic. It has one elevator, 24 hours Guard on duty, no in-house restaurant but not a problem for us since there are many restaurants around and there’s even a Ministop (a convenience store) in the corner that’s one establishment away (one hotel away, to be exact) from Paragon Hotel. You can make outside/local telephone calls for free (other hotels charge for this). Food delivery is also allowed. The hotel has free WIFI but the connection is a bit slow.

CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT: A breeze. They accept cash or credit card. Not sure about debit card, though.

LOCATION: It’s about 30 minutes away from the airport. We took an airport taxi (fixed rate) to take us to the hotel. The taxi driver did not know the hotel or its exact location but we had a GPS, so it was easy. FYI, there are many fruit and street food vendors at night, and street children, too.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at Paragon Hotel and we will definitely come back.

The first night we stayed there someone broke into our room and took all of our money and belongings as well as breaking all our suitcases. The hotel didn't take any responsibility and we were never able to talk to the manager about the issue. They never even contacted the police to make a report and we had to do that all on our own. They had the security images to see who entered our room but never showed it to us and told us they will take care of it. We never found out what happened. We didn't even get any compensation for our stay or anything else. They basically said we can't do anything about it and didn't want to take responsibility for their lack of security or service. I would never stay here again nor would I ever recommend anyone to stay in this hotel. Horrible service.

I've stayed at the Paragon Tower hotel maybe 5 times, and it's clean, quiet, "good vibe" and right in the heart of Ermita, the gritty, people-in-the-street neighbourhood of Manila. It's close to the famous and huge Robinson shopping centre, not far from the bay, near to the US Embassy, and also close to the train. The staff are extremely polite and helpful. I'd recommend it to anyone. Oh, it's not too expensive either, at approximately PHP 1600 per night.

This hotel is centrally located however this comes with disadvantages as the area is very seedy at night in fact the hotel recommends you don't go out after 10pm. So it was surprising to us to find out that this tower block is shared with a medical centre and other businesses meaning anyone can walk in and access your floor via a lift. Given that the locks on doors are very basic this is a big concern. The front desk staff of which there are many are only good for saying hello after which the most common response to any question will be "sorry, I cant help" no effort was made to lift a finger. On our floor there was a phone that sat opposite the lift which is linked to the reception phone so every time it goes off every room on the floor hears it! When you couple this with lazy reception staff it means there is plenty of ringing. Like others mentioned the in room ac is very noisy. To top everything off you room is checked by staff before you are allowed to check out, seriously they must get some dodgy guests if they do this for everyone!

I booked Paragon due to its location close to Intramuros and cheap price. The family room was spacious, shower was warm and beds were comfortable enough, but everything was old. The upholstery on the chairs and lounge looked like it had never been cleaned and there was some black goo stuck over the chair. There were cockroaches in the bathroom. The airconditioner was noisy. We also have some doubts as to security at the hotel. We discovered a couple of items missing during our stay and when we reported it to the staff, they were cagey about it, especially when we asked for directions to the local police to report the loss. They seemed more concerned that they were not held liable than investigating what might have happened.

If you're going to stay in the Ermita area, the Paragon Tower is a good choice. It's located on quiet Flores Street, one block from UN Avenue, one of the more upscale Ermita areas. It also a short walk to the big Robinson's mall. The U.S. Embassy is close, as is the Manila Bay Baywalk, Rizal Park and Intramuros. The rooms are large and nicely furnished. The bathrooms are basic but adequate. Ours had a new and fairly quiet Panasonic air con unit, not a noisy old rattletrap AC. The Paragon is not the Ritz-Carlton at a lower price but it offers decent, secure accommodations at a reasonable price. Our ratings compare the Paragon to other mid-price hotels, not the Ritz. Our floor (7th) had free wi-fi.

The hotel staff were nice (as most Filipinos are) but were not especially knowledgeable about restaurants. The Ermita area can be a little shocking to foreign visitors. The streets and sidewalks are rough, there are girlie bars, homeless people sleeping on the sidewalks and beggars. You may not want to wander around at night by yourself. Head one block north to UN Ave and the situation is better. If you walk in any other direction the neighborhoods are gritty. It's cheap to take a taxi to your restaurant or Robinson's Mall. Speaking of restaurants in this area, we like the Shawarma Snack Center, a Middle Eastern Restaurant on Salas Street, four or five blocks from the hotel.

In general, we find Ermita to be a little less dull and more economical than the more upscale parts of Makati.

You'll save money by booking your room through booking.com rather than through the hotel website. For example we booked a family room (two king beds) for P3,300 through booking.com whereas the same room at the Paragon's is P3,808. Both include breakfast. Ask for a room on the upper floors, 7th floor or above, and you may get nice views of the city and maybe even a glimpse of Manila Bay.

I found this Hotel by accident when I had to stay overnight while wating for the Superferry. The rate was around $30. The accomodations were excellent, clean, cool, and in very NEW condition. It had awesome elevators. The hotel staff was very helpful and polite. It is located near the US Embasy, a couple of blocks from some typical Manila bar entertainment, and also close, (three or four blocks), to the downtown mall which houses many American businesses, including a Mrs. Fields and a TGI Friday's. The mall is HUGE and it is VERY easy to get disoriented/lost in it. I will DEFINATELY stay there again, and would not hesitate to stay there with my family. A GREAT PLACE!

My family & I arrived early morning from Baguio & went straight ahead to the hotel with high expectations that we can be accommodated for early check in. We do know that check-in should be @ 12noon but since we arrived ahead of schedule, we tried our luck. Good thing the lady at the front desk was so accommodating also that she made it very easy for us & accepted us in. Of course with confirmation that since our reserved room is available, that's why.
And so we settled unto our room on the 6th floor (Family Suite) and we were so glad on how spacious the room was. So spacious that we would laugh on how many steps it had to take from the bed going to the bathroom. There were 2 big beds, enough to accommodate 4 "not so big" people. The sheets & pillow were clean also which we appreciate very much. The tv isn't so big though, but we didn't mind since we were out of the hotel for almost the entire day. Bathroom has a bathtub also which isn't dirty, making my kids very happy. There's a kitchen sink beside the sala set or living-room-like area, whatever you call it. In short, we like how everything inside the room functions: tv, mini ref, sink, desk mirror/office table.
Outside the hotel also you can find, a lot of food establishments, from a budget carenderia to restaurants, coffeshops etc. And not to mention, Ministop & Puregold Jr. is just beside the building. Transportations like jeepney, taxi & tricycles are very accessible too. Some shops are even just a walking distance like J.Co in Roxas Blvd. and also Luneta! LRT -UN Ave station is also very near, can be walked by foot or if you're too tired to do so, then by "padjak".
One thing though, taxi drivers are not so familiar with the location so make sure that you have the correct address so that you can immediately locate the hotel. Taxi fare going to NAIA terminal 3 is no more than Php 150.00 while MOA costs around 100.00.
We definitely loved our stay & would love to come back next time.

Oh, I actually had photos of our room, supposedly for my Tripadvisor review but I accidentally deleted it..my bad! So sorry guys :(

They dont have airport pick up. Airport taxi is yellow, and we paid 300 pesos going to the hotel, and only 200 from paragon back to the airport because it's just a regular metered taxi.
