I am so thrilled to write a review for Admiral Hotel Manila just like what we’ve felt as we enter into this hidden gem along Roxas Boulevard.

The moment we step foot inside their lobby was truly a different story. The interiors are full of charm and character and every spot is visually appealing, ‘instagrammable’ indeed!

A warm welcome was given to us by the staffs from the front office, concierge and most specially by the duty manager Ms. Jillian(I hope I spelled it correctly). Kudos to all hotel staffs that we’ve met as they really know how to build a good rapport with their clients. Each one of us were given a cold towel, a glass of mocktail and complimentary massage vouchers, indeed a unique gesture to welcome their guests. We were escorted by Ms. Jillian from the lobby to our room and gave us a brief overview of the property and we were surprised that each room has its own unique theme!

The room may be quite small as compared with other luxury hotels, but its interiors is an epitome of grandeur and sophistication. Our room (Executive Room) faces the breathtaking Manila Bay Sunset. The bed is comfortable and the linens are spotless. The Smart TV is huge and equipped with top-end Bose soundbar(perfect if you love watching movies). They have welcome fruit basket, a small cake (as we are celebrating a special occasion), TWG teas and a Nespresso machine. They also offer turndown service during the evening.

They offer wide selection of pastries and sweet treats at the lobby lounge made by Kevin Ong- a renowned patisser. The dinner buffet at Admiral Club is superb with vast selection. They have a pool bar at the rooftop, perfect spot to watch glorious sunsets while sipping a drink.

Currently, the hotel is still on its soft opening stage and some of the facilities/restaurants are not yet fully operational, still it managed to deliver to our expectations. We will DEFINITELY come back!

I stayed for two nights together with a group last September. It was the day after a super typhoon. I was glad to have arrived safely and was rewarded with a warm welcome by the doorman and the lady at the front desk. That was after the stress I endured during the flight to Manila.

The lady who checked me in deserved more than thanks for accommodating me so early in the morning (7:30 AM). She was friendly, pleasant, and very eager to know my needs.

During lunchtime, I ordered room service that arrived in less than 30 mins. The server (unfortunately, I forgot the young man's name) was very polite and helpful. He even managed to offer a bucket of ice for my drinks.

Breakfast was great! Tables are set apart and generously spaced, giving you room to move (they have your safety against covid in mind). The choices of cheese were plenty. I especially loved the blended milk cheese with mango chunks. Happy to know that most of the cheese items they serve come from a local supplier. GO hashtag #local! The chef walked around to check if all the diners were happy with the food.

I was presented with a colorful and tasty salad with burrata during dinner. The servers knew what they were serving. They politely introduced the food and drinks I was having and answered all my crazy questions. The service was very relaxing and informative. You will never feel bad for asking too many questions.

The pool on the 9th floor offers an alternative area for lounging. Close to it is a bar that serves refreshing mojitos. Best to visit around dusk to enjoy one of the best views of the bay.

The hotel offers so many selfie spots. I would want to come back on leisure, to take some new ones soon.

Beautiful hotel. Upon check in, the bellhop dressed in traditional uniform loaded all of our bags for us. Loved that we were served fresh calamansi juice and cold refreshing hand towels. The bellhop also gave us a tour, described the art installation in detail, and where the speakeasy was located. Room is modern with shower and decorated in gold fashion. Loved complimentary tea, coffee, and water in room. Great customer service. Staff was always present and willing to open doors, pull chairs out for us, and housekeeping service. Loved the business attire mix with some traditional attire by staff to make a great atmosphere of old and new. It is definitely pricey, no meals are included. We did take advantage of the lunch buffet which is pretty close to USA pricing. We will definitely be returning!

Everything felt so luxurious! Rooms smelled great, very clean, high end complimentary tea and coffee (TWG and Nespresso), memory foam pillows, complete sanitary and hygiene kits, etc. Service was superb as well from front office, to all F&B staff and even housekeeping. Breakfast buffet was good too!

Whatever happens, dont allow yourself to be assigned to room 819. The a/c is defective and electrician claims the filter is clogged and full of dirt. The room also is located beside a door with access to the pool area which allowed us poor sleep as it kept making loud banging noises everytime someone passes by.

Front desk staff didnt even give us a warning of the room’s location and never offered a room upgrade (considering I am a loyal Accor member). Was it because I used some of my reward points for this stay? My kid who has special needs definitely did not feel at ease with our set up since the room had no view.

You also cant rely on them when asking for feedback about things you left inside the room. I remembered leaving something behind and asked front desk to contact housekeeping about it. She tried to call them, but to no avail.

Also, their mobile contact numbers rarely get answered. Dialling them or sending text messages dont seem to work. Management needs a lot to work on.

Buffet was so-so. It wasnt even spectacular during special ocassions like Christmas and New Year.

There was also lack of communication and information among staff members. We asked about the application of discounts and dining privileges but they had conflicting answeres. Same with hotel events. Seems like nobody had complete information about holiday events which does not help the guests at all.

If the hotel wants to survive, management needs to act on it.

The room was kept very neat and clean. Details are on point and the amenities well maintained. The buffet area offer limited but satisfying choices. Best was the pastry section. Best of all, staff are all courteous and provided world class customer service from lobby, housekeeping, room service and admiral club staff. Sweet surprise of a stay.

Check in was difficult, they didn’t have the full details of my booking that included breakfast and dinner despite the fact the booking was made on their own website, also a hefty deposit ($750) was required which I though was excessive, then none of my cards would be accepted as they required a credit card, probably the worst check in experience of my life. We then got taken to our room that was upgraded to executive room, a nice gesture, we then had a bad sewerage smell in this room possibly due to some construction work they were having in the hotel at the time. Following this we were upgraded again to the executive suite, this was the nicest gesture i had ever received from any hotel, this suite was amazing. Unfortunately my trip needed to be extended by 2 days for business reasons, the hotel management then gave me the full price for the suite which was $400 per night instead of either giving me the option to go back to a standard room or keeping the extending suite upgrade gesture (which I didn’t expect but would of been nice) because of the last minute extension and using a reason that they were fully booked so the prices had increased I believe they took full advantage of my predicament instead of trying to help, they delayed responding to me for a full day about a negotiation for a fairer room rate which pushed up the prices of all the hotels in the area, eventually I left and went to another hotel to stay for the rest of my trip extension. Nice staff, very nice small hotel, excellent restaurant and food but i felt let down by poor management.

We stayed either side of our tour of Palawan Island. Both times we were upgraded due to our Accor member status. Our rooms faced Manilla Bay across Roxas Boulevard. View was great and earplugs dealt with the traffic noise. The breakfast buffet was fabulous, as was the service throughout the hotel. Room décor was lovely, and beds were very comfortable. All staff wore earpieces, so you did not have the walkie talkie noise in the corridor from housekeeping. They have dress standards in the public dining and bar areas, so thankfully there were no silky PJs, robes, or slippers at breakfast. We highly recommend this hotel.

It was our family's first time to stay at Admiral Hotel. The staff was very accommodating, check-in was fast. Our room was clean, with comfortable beds and pillows, room temperature just right. The housekeeping attendant, Arjay, was courteous and would always greet us with a smile every time we met him at the hallway. Our room was kept tidy every day.

The hotel's food selection was also varied and delicious. Love the overflowing coffee, there was even a Nespresso machine in the room! 🙂

The best part was the swimming pool, which our daughter and I frequented while the husband was at a convention. The magnificent view of the Manila Bay sunset can be appreciated from the pool deck.

One minor downside of our stay though was the unavailability of a spare keycard since the hotel was fully booked. Other than that, we had an enjoyable experience.

Has anybody used the club lounge? What are the snack and drink options like? Do they do breakfast in the club lounge?
Answer from Val M

I didn’t make use of the lounge. But it is located as a reserved section of the coffee shop in the lobby. It’s not like on some separate room or floor so there is no privacy like your typical lounge. I caught a glimpse of a liquor cart with usual line-up of alcohol. Not sure though which ones are available for happy hour.
