This is the 2nd time I stayed at Rothman. This time I booked a king room because I need a lot of space for my graduation preparation. This is just 5 minutes away from PICC (drive) and also very accessible to Robinsons Manila (jist a few mwters away) There are lots of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Banks are also present around the hotel.

The king room has a separate area for dining and it has a ref, water kettle, pitcher and 2 glasses which arw wrapped. No coffee/tea/creamer/sugar but we won't be using them anyway. We asked for cups and teaspoons. The toilet has a very good water heating system. It also has a bidet.

I planned to get my hair and make-up done at Rob. The ceremony was moved from 1pm to 7am so I hired an HMUA who came at 4:30am. It is good that the dresser is wide. The room also has a hair dryer.

There is a big LED in the room with cable channels. The management could improve the watching experience by providing a channel guide.

If you are planning to have a late check out time, inform the front desk ASAP.

I keep coming back to the Rothman to stay when I'm in Manila, because of the price and comfort. At around $50 AUD, it has always been good value. I noticed however on my last stay that extensive renovations were being done and that renovated rooms were around P3,200. So in the future maybe the value won't be there anymore, will depend on the quality of the reno I guess.
I have always had a good size room there and a very comfortable bed, the staff are always very friendly, the breakfast is reasonable. Easy to get a taxi in front of the hotel, I nice easy walk to Robinson's Mall.

I stayed at Rothman Hotel from 13-19 January 2013, and I enjoyed the stay.
I took the rear room (smoking room) which is quieter. The lights are not that bright but the room is cozy enough for me. Nice, strong shower with hot and cold water. It's an oldie but goodie hotel - good location - and only a few minutes walk to Robinson's Place shopping mall. Roxas Boulevard is about 15 minutes walk away. My initial email enquiries were answered very promptly. The hotel staff work hard to make your stay an enjoyable one. Thank you to everyone.
I will definitely stay here again.

Spent 12 days at the place this month. Today when I asked for a late PAID checkout for tomorrow i was told i would have to wait until tomorrow 2 pm and could only get a late checkout if the room was not rebooked by then. It took the involvement of the manager to stop this moronic behaviour. They really got to lift their game.

Well, to start with, this is a hotel providing very cheap rooms. I did not expect a lot from it. The room itself is very clean even though very old. Don't be misled by the pictures. Both the outside and inside of the hotel are very very old. The nicest and newest area is the lobby of the hotel where you can enjoy the free WIFI. The room got a very weird potato smell when I first got into it. The smell was even stronger in the corridor. The situation did improve the next day.

The check-in counter is efficient and the receptionists are very friendly and polite. The other staff and janitors are very nice and polite as well.

The location of the hotel is excellent as it is right next to the huge mall, Robinsons Place.

The hotel is not really for couples and families as I could see a lot of Japanese men coming into the hotel without their wife or girlfriend. I could also see a number of pimps in the hotel lobby.

In conclusion, the hotel has great staff but prostitution and nightlife is not the type of holiday I am after. For me, it is a NO.

Thank you for pointing out the excellent value that we offer. We pride ourselves in offering budget-friendly rates, large clean rooms as well as friendly and service-oriented staff in an unbeatable location. Due to our location, being in the center of the Manila tourist district and close to the different convention centers and embassies, we get a lot of travellers who are here for business hence, travelling alone. I assure you that we do not condone prostitution and most definitely do not allow pimps to hang out inside hotel premises.

The jury is still out on this one. On one hand the reception staff are friendly and very helpful, the rooms are clean and the location is very good. On the other hand the "executive" rooms simply have an additional stark room with a table and fridge (where the "executives" will have their meetings i suppose). There is no free internet - you have to buy internet cards and the signal is not that great in the rooms. The breakfast must be the meanest i have encountered in years. You get ONE toast, ONE butter, ONE jam , a forkful of overfried bacon and a spoonful of scrambled eggs. Anything extra you pay for. And while you are eating the glorious breakfast don't forget to admire the plastic flowers - same one on each table (a bulk purchase obviously). The rooms at the front are noisy so ask for a quiet one. What can i say, i would stay again only if i had to. "For a few dollars more", as the famous film goes, i would rather go elsewhere.

A staff named Ella didn’t give the card key to me even i paid for the room. She was so uncooperative and did not make effort to solve the problem. I ended up staying to another room sharing with another person. I paid for a room but i was not allowed to use. Then later wanted to give the cardkey and apologise after making my bood boiled. What an incompetent and dumb staff.

Booked two standard rooms and stayed for three nights. My uncle was a bit concerned with the area because we arrived quite late at 1am and he saw women on the streets. I told him it would look better in the morning and not to go out at night to avoid these women. When we entered our rooms, both my uncle and aunt were impressed with the receiving room and the large bedroom. 24hours room service was highly utilized by us. In the morning, we found the area was okay and it was just a block away from robinsons manila where we had some of our meals. The staff were all so accomodating - from the front desk, restaurant staff, bellboy and security. We hired a grandia van to take us to terminal 3 and we paid only p600.00. Wifi connection was great too. Rate is affordable as we were able to avail of senior citizen discounts in one room and my pwd disount on my room. All in all, we had a great stay.

It's still save in this area, and next to the Robinson Mall, where you get everything (food, internet, cinema, groceries). Rooms are ok as is the bathroom. WiFi is at an additional cost per hour (you have to buy a card at the lobby) and it is not always working. Try to avoid floor 3, because of the dancing noise on floor 2.

On arrival at the Rothman I was slightly disappointed as it didn't look like the pictures on here! The rooms, although good value, were very dated and dark. Our standard room was clean but looked so old and dingy, it made me want to get out and stay out for the day.

Sometimes they will take an early check in but only about 1 hour early. I like it there and have stayed there many times.

Yes we do as long as you have already checked into the hotel and there would be a limit to how long you can leave your luggage.

The hotel usually has a high occupancy rate, so to cater to a AM to PM stay may be a problem. But the hotel staff is great and if possible, they will work it out for you. The price range runs from about P1,800 to P2,500 depending on room selection and other requirements you may have. The current exchange rate is about P50 (pesos) to the one U.S. Dollar. Hope this helps.
