Stayed for 1 night and was glad it's only 1 night. Main complaints :

1) given the room on 1st floor, the music from the lounge keeps you awake. At night, there's some party going on till 12 mid-night.
2) water supply was cut off for about 1-2 hrs at night without warning.
3) Bathroom floor was dirty though room is clean.
4) Hot water is not available on the basin, for the bath it took about 5-10 mins for hot water to be hot.
5) Breakfast was terrible with limited choices. Juices are not cold and the waiter just serve me coffee without asking me what I want.
6) Airport transfer add another PHP$1000 'cos it took more than 2 hrs to reach the hotel. Total PHP$2200 one-way I might as well book a luxury car.
7) When checked-out, ask front-desk for an envelope to keeo my receipt. The lady just searched her area and said out-of-stock without asking her colleagues if they have any.
8) No kettle provided and no outside food allowed. To get the menu for room-service, need to call and they will deliver the menu to the room.

Stay at your own risk.......

Nice hotel with very eccentric, classy design. Beds were nice and food was excellent as well. The location was perfect for our purpose which was to take an exam at the nearby philippine lung center. But until the last part during check out wherein they held us for missing hand towels. They didn't check it thoroughly because we didn't take any. We might have placed it at another area within the room but we did not take them! why would we, it's just a towel! So insulting! They made us sign some promissory note that we did not take it! Never going back there again.

I was with a group of 18 people in Manila. We wanted a moderate, safe and clean hotel not too far from where we needed to be for meetings and excursions. After finding the Sulo in "Lonely Planet" and getting confirmation from a couple of Manila residents, we booked.

We arrived and the check in process was slow and arduous, though we had reservations and confirmation numbers for everyone in the group. The lobby is deceptively beautiful. My roommate and I got to our room and were severely disappointed. It was run down and grimey. The counters and fridge were broken down and old. The carpet looked gross, and the room smelled weird. The bathroom had broken and patched trim around the door. Though we paid the same price for all our rooms, several people didn't have blankets or bedspreads in their rooms. We were told this was standard practive, but no one could explain why. We saw roaches in the rooms and hallway, and there was one (unsubstantiated) report of a rodent.

Breakfast - in the lovely lobby - was good, but given the unclean feeling of the hotel, it was less than appetizing. We were very glad to leave this hotel! It is old and run down and not well cleaned. I suspect that those who said it was a good choice have only attended receptions or events in the lobby & restaurants, and haven't actually stayed in the rooms.

My wife and i spent our honey moon at this hotel i opted to upgrade our room to a suite and i had already paid for the first night they would not refund my money or credit what i paid so we were stuck for 2 nights because i wanted a suite for our honeymoon. the first night no hot water and construction behind the hotel all night making noise they are building a hi-rise so they will be there a while for future reference. The pool is covered with a platform half way and is 8 foot deep where you can jump in my wife cant swim that well so we could not use the pool no shallow end. What a disappointment this place was and the staff at the front desk had and attitude. When i asked for a manager to talk to it took 6 hours for him to contact me. Anyone would be well advised not to use this hotel its overpriced for what you get. Dont waste your money here.

This hotel scammed me! The website offers deluxe rooms - they are a pit! They quoted a US$90 rate less a 10% discount and they billed the equivalent of US$110 in pesos. The website offers a welcome drink and fruit basket - Ha! Nothing. The hotel was under renovation and they should not have taken reservations. The bars were closed, and the restaurant was a buffet in the lobby. The noise of renovation was obscene. This is a typical foreign tourist scam where they offer one thing and deliver another, so anyone reading this - be careful!!
I called the hotel about the bill when I recognized later that the rate was higher than quoted and they asked me to complain through their website - I did and received no reply. This is the sort of place, apparently, that you find in third world areas where they suck you in with a good website, hit your credit card and get you in after an 8,000 mile trip, and you find that you are stuck in a hole .
Their website offers parking and internet without quoting any cost, suggesting that they are included in the room rate, but they charge big prices for both.
I am bitter about this experience - I feel that they had a contract to provide a level of service that was promised through their website, and I found that the place was an absolute pit! And then they lied about the rate! Talk about seduced and abandoned!

I had a meeting here and I booked one of their function rooms. Although the function room is relatively old compared to newer hotels, we had all we need. A good sound system, good tech equipments and even nice internet connection in the room itself. Staff was very attentive to our needs and made sure all our requirements are answered. Food was good. Special mention to their courteous staff Edwin, Mark Edison and Kenvin who made sure our guests will have positive experience in the meeting by looking after their needs.
Overall, I had a nice event and I'll definitely book their function rooms again

I made reservations here because I had an appointment at the Philippine Heart Center and they are located across the street. The hotel caters to high ranking Philippine government emplyees. There are more than 40 Dept of XYZ offices near by. They have thousands of Philippine people lined up at their offices trying to get exit visas to go overseas and work. The government employees that stay at the Hotel don't care about the prices; they get reimbursed from their jobs. After our bussiness at the Hospital we checked into the hotel and went to their lunch buffet; P800 per person for very low class food. The room has a price list on the dresser if you take a towel, pillow, or anything else you shouldn't. I had to sign a statement saying I would be charged $300 (USD) if I was caught smoking on the premises. I told the guard several times about people smoking in the lobby but he just smiled. They do have several chain type restraunts near by; however the hotel always no food to be brought in from any outside source. The TV cable service did offer several channels but only a few were clear enough to watch. It's an hour drive by taxi to the airport so we had to leave before their 6 am free breakfast. They said they'd pack us a bag to go, it was two manaise sandwiches with terrible smelling green meat. The bread was not wrapped and was rock hard, plus two apples and two hard boiled eggs. I suspect the meals were made a few days ago and the meal sat in a styrophone container on the warm counter. We opened the meals when we got to the airport but the smell was too strong to do much with except throw in the garbage.

I wonder why there were so many negative feedbacks on this hotel. I have been staying with this hotel in Quezon City time and again and I don't find it deserving of those bad comments.
People should not expect a 5-star hotel amenities for a 3-star hotel bill. The hotel is not one of the cheapest in Quezon City but I think it is the best 3-star hotel in this area. Its location is very good considering its nearness to the city hall, park, malls, hospitals and even churches.
Me?, I would rather stay in Sulo hotel than any hotel in the area.
I have been to lots of hotels around the world, (I am a contributor of TripAdvisor) and I think some evaluations are unfair to Sulo hotel.

for a 4 star hotel they don't train their waiters very well. They don't show respect to women. When we were eating in the breakfast buffet I was going to get some cereals, but the dispenser was broken so 2 waiters helped me and I thought wow the waiters here are very helpful they even poured milk in my cereal. I thanked them for the help and left afterwards, but I overheard their conversation saying "Are you horny" like wow it's impossible that they are both gays, show some respect to women please especially that I'm at the age of 17 and they're like what? 20 above? its very disappointing how the waiters are 2 faced employees.

I visited this hotel in Dec 2015. I had a horrible experience with the management and the environment of the hotel. While the hotel was absolutely gorgeous with great food and staff, it went south at night. There was a wedding party at the party room which was located 3 doors away from my room. I called the staff at 10pm, 11pm, and they assured me the noise would be reduced at 11pm when the wedding is over. I kept calling as I could not sleep, the karaoke, the loud noise of people was very frustrating for a traveler in Manila. The staff did not know what they could do for me. At 12am, the noise was subdued. But there was still a thumping sound outside, which the staff explained to me was due to a club outside the hotel. They then agreed to move me to a quieter location on the other end of the hotel. After the move, I was able to sleep.

The next day, I spoke to the manager about the situation and while he apologized, he would not give a discount or any compensation for my grief. While he apologized, I don't think he really cared that a customer could not sleep at night and said they offered me a room at 12am. I don't think it's fair to expect a traveler to only expect to sleep at 12am. I told him I would write a bad review on social media and he said "ok." Very shocking.

So -- if you are looking to sleep, I would not ever recommend this hotel. Ever. If you are looking for a hotel with a management that cares about your needs, I would not recommend this hotel. Ever.
