My partner’s birthday was just around the corner. So, we decided to celebrate it by having a 2D/1N staycation in Le Meridien. I wanted it to be surprise. So, I had emailed the Hotel to check whether it was possible to have an early check-in as it was for a birthday celebration. Unfortunately, there was no reply from the Hotel. Hence, we checked-in at 3 pm. The check-in process was smooth & easy. My partner sat while I took charge. I had also informed the staff regarding the email which I had sent & did not receive any reply to which she apologised profusely. She said that I should have called them directly instead of emailing. We went straight up to our hotel room. The room was smaller than I expected. Also, we were pleasantly surprised when we saw a “smiley-faced” balloon tied to a box which had a chocolate fudge cupcake inside. There was also a card next to it from Le Meridien. Behind it were 2 bottled water. That being said, I supposed my email was received in good faith & they had acted upon it. So, in short, although we were a little disappointed by the size of the room, the Hotel’s thoughtfulness made it better. We were both very happy & grateful. It made the day even more special for us. The mattress was firm & good for my back. The side tables were different on each side. On my side of the bed was a small & round size side table. On it was a console switch box which controlled the air-conditioner, service display, clock & lights. On my partner’s side was a rectangular side table with a lamp & phone on it. The room was equipped with many types of lightings for in-house guests to play with to suit their mood. The TV was a good size & we had satellite TV Astro. The work table had a glass top & the safe was located at the bottom of the table. I didn’t mind doing work on my laptop as the work chair was so comfortable til I felt that I wanted to buy it! WiFi was complimentary as it is expected in most hotels. The AC’s blower was strong & the room became cool very fast. The iron, ironing board & torchlight were safely tucked inside the wardrobe while our prayer mat was neatly packed inside a plastic bag. Unfortunately, it didn’t smell very good when we opened it. The view from our window was very soothing. We could see lots of green amidst the many tall buildings in the background. My partner said that it was the Botanical Garden of KL. I just love the bathroom. The marble walls were my favourite as it made the bathroom looked really posh though I suspect they were actually tiles. The rain shower was a joy to use together with the handheld shower as the water pressure was really good. The marble seat in the shower made the experience even more spa like. The WC had an internal bidet instead of the usual external one. Le Meridien chose US Malin + Goetz unisex bath essentials for their in-house guests due to the evocative ingredients & effective formulations which complement any skin & haircare regiment. They also smelled very nice & opened up our senses. Best of all, we called up Housekeeping who was kind enough to replenish the few sachets of ground coffee which we had thoroughly enjoyed using the French press. My partner had also requested for another pen as a souvenir from the Hotel. For tomorrow’s breakfast, we were required to tick or check the relevant box on the breakfast card, indicating our breakfast preference & time for it to be brought to our room. We handed the card over to Housekeeping. On that day, we had an early dinner in the room. My partner had ordered a cheeseburger which was very tasty & filling. We had an early night & woke up early the next day to check out the gym. The SOPs were in place. We were told to scan using the MySejahtera app & our body temperature were recorded. We were quite impressed with all the gym equipment as they were the latest in technology. I was on the treadmill most of the time. The treadmill was a joy to exercise on. I was able to watch my favourite movies while exercising. There were also water cooler systems for customers to quench their thirst. Overall, it was quite a huge gym but rightly so as I believe it was shared between in-house guests from Le Meridien & KL Hilton. After hitting our goals in the gym for an hour or so, we felt it was time to leave. We had to pass the swimming pool on our way back to our room. The swimming pool was also shared between KL Hilton. It was a huge area but we weren’t able to use it much to our chagrin. There was also a pathway which resembled a cave & a small manmade waterfall. To our right was a zen looking Japanese pond garden. It was really very peaceful & tranquil. Our breakfast spread was supposed to be in our room but they were not there. So, we called up Room Service to check on the status. We were told that the staff had knocked on our door but since we were not in the room, they had returned the buffet spread back to the kitchen. We were late by a mere 5 minutes. Nevertheless, we were very appreciative with their actions. Overall, the American breakfast was absolutely divine & delicious. The only thing different was the meat that we had chosen. I opted for beef bacon while my partner ordered the chicken salami. The mixed fruits were not the same for the both of us, too. My partner did not get the white coloured dragon fruit. They had also forgotten to give us the fruit juice & coffee. I had to call them back & they delivered the missing items. Unfortunately, they did not give us the missing white dragon fruit which was a disappointment because we really enjoyed it. Check-out was fast & smooth. Parking was free too. We would definitely come back once things get back to being normal again. Can’t wait to use the pool & the gym. We would probably try out the more premium rooms to gain access to their Club Lounge.

First off, this is a review for their food delivery and not dine-in nor stay. Service: Order was placed online with a 48 hour advanced notice required. Packing: The entire set arrived in an impressive box with each item individually packed with re-heating instructions. If you think you can’t finish the food in one setting fret not. Re-heating was for cooking dummies like us. Take a pot of hot water, pop the packs in & presto! Starters - Santapan Muhibbah Set Menu 3 (RM 80) (Flavoured Malay-Spiced Porridge with Chicken & Shrimps) The porridge had a very nice texture to it & was absolutely delicious. However if you add the garnishing provided, it might be a little salty Bergedil Daging, Tauhu, Tempeh, Kuah Kacang, Sambal Bawang (Potato Croquet, Flavoured Minced Beef, Soy Beancurd, Fermented Soya Bean Cakes, Peanut Sauce) The potato croquet was flavourful but a little soggy probably due of the peanut sauce which wasn’t packed separately Mains - Le Méridien Nasi Briyani Kasmiri Hariman Air Mawar (Le Méridien Briyani Rice and Rose Water) The rice was flavourful with a light touch of rose flavouring which went perfectly with the accompanying dishes Briyani Ayam Kasmiri bermadu Haruman Pudina (Chicken Briyani, Honey and Mint Leaves) Our personal favourite! Very delicious, tender & moist within. We absolutely adored it. Murtabak Dadar Rempah Masala Bersama Udang, Sayuran dan Telur (Egg Murtabak with Prawns and Masala Vegetable) It was a little soggy but flavourful nonetheless Jelatah Nenas–Mentimun (Pineapple-Cucumber Pickles) Absolutely refreshing and crunchy Desserts - Puding Susu Badam–Buah Peach (Almond Milk Pudding with Peach) The pudding had a very nice texture & wasn’t too sweet. The fresh fruits gave it a refreshing twist Kurma (Dates) All in all, very intuitive packaging and a delicious meal. Our full review is on Instagram (@monk3yseendo)

There's a sitcom in the 80's about a bar...and the song is rather catchy. If you know this wonderful sitcom, well you can skip this update but if you don't read on! Because to me Le Meridien KL reminds me just like the atmosphere of that famous bar...*enter piano intro...:) I checked in for a night stay with my mate and thank you for the upgrade to your wonderful Premier room despite last minute booking of mine and my check in was exceptional with Mr. Raynor whom I had the pleasure of knowing how is name and mine has a similar origin, only that his has a more unique story. I just love the way people here open up with much candor as it makes a big difference in today's hospitality business..yes? And it does end here, the same candor is felt when we went for breakfast as we were greeted by Rose and later looked after throughout our time at Latest Recipe by a group of very attentive team (thinking its a new Covid SOP) and found out that they were interns/part timers whom were trained with the same high standard of guest hospitality and kudos to them for again their candor and willingness to learn and live up to an already high standard. Dinesh PT, Dinesh 3.0 and Hari, you guys will do well and I sincerely wish you success. And to the Latest Recipe team, breakfast spread was great as usual and thank you for taking good care of us. And oh we enjoyed the goodies in our room too. Thank you Mr. Front Desk Manager for the treat! And if you are guessing about the sitcom, folks its CHEERS! Where everybody knows your name...well done Le Meridien KL. Cos a room is a room is a room, but it becomes a stay to remember when music starts playing in my ears.
