Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
I stayed in a private room as i was traveling by myself and the location and amenities were great. Not a fan of only having one toliet per floor though as there are 3 privates and one mixed dorm for like 8-10 people. The wifi was great and the location was extremely convenient to get around.

Plus: - cosy dorm and bed, with curtain and electricity plug - good wi-fi on every floor - nice common room with tv, sofa, free coffee and tea and ok kitchen - staff helpful - was sent here by LP-hostel that had no vanancy - location good, close to amerika-mura, but quite 'far' (10-15min walk) from subway - clean showers and toilet, free soap
Negs - was in the sixbeddorm windowside without curtain (nice view though). Plus quite a lot of noise from the airco-fanthings outside - went over the day before i would go there to make reservation, had to pay straight away, which I did, good that I asked a receipt because they asked to pay again the next day. Not that they want to rip you off, just some communication error which could have been annoying if i didn't have a receipt.
Typical quality cosy Japanese hostel. They do it right.

Stayed 2 nights as we chose the hostel for its excellent location; right in Dotonburi, famous for its Glico Running Man, good food, shopping and entertainment. Chose the double private room with shared shower and bathroom and it turned out better than expected. The room was furnished with a bunk bed and a small sofa and coffee table. There were 3 private rooms on our floor (level 2) and a shared dorm but we never had to fight for shower / toilets although the hostel was full. Toiletries are provided (they use large sized Shiseido products 😁) but towels are extra- rented out for JPY100. There's a washing machine you can use (chargable) as well as 2 PCs with internet. The kitchen is large enough for guests and there's a small library, mostly travel guide books. We wanted to continue exploring Osaka after checking out and they happily kept our luggage with a reminder to pick up by 10 pm (doors close then).

Close to Namba Station, with friendly staff with good English. The Wi-Fi works well. Real bad value for families; perhaps okay for a person by themselves, if nothing else available. Our 4-person "private" room was basically 2 bunk beds on a plywood floor in a small closet that had a few windows that didn't close completely. Once we figured out the remote control wall mounted HVAC unit - either roasted or froze - no in between. Room was so small that I couldn't approach getting into the bed other than by turning sideways - the wall was too close. My mistake was paying for 4 nights in advance on registration - they wouldn't take credit cards and wouldn't give a refund. (120,000 yen for 4 people - much more expensive than other quality full service hotels in the same area).

Spend one night in hostel Q during the trip to Osaka, it has a very good location. Located in the heart of dotonbori area, where you can see the dotonbori river from just your room window! And the amazing part is take a little step to reach the famous dottonbori glico sign.
unfortunately the facilities are less satisfactory as I expected. The air conditioner isn't working while I checked in, and also it has a thin mattres that makes you feel a bit uncomfortable, and no access card to your room. Need to upgrade those facilities would be a better idea :)
The receptionist will be closed by 10.00 PM, if you want to go outside after 10.00 PM use the side door and you need to input a code to unlock the door.

Great location in central Osaka! Near Dottonbori and the Running man. Service is good, however the sleeping areas are very poor. Rooms are not very clean, nor do they have typical amenities (plug built into your bed ect.). If you are just looking for a place to leave your stuff and maybe catch a couple hours of Zeez's while your out partying in Dotonbori, this is definitely the place.

Very convenient position for nightlife (right in the dotonbori neighbourhood, which means shops, restaurant and a lot of people). Closest jr station is Nanba, but quite tricky to get there from Kyoto using only jr pass. A few rides with the metro may be required to see the main attractions of the city like umeda area and osaka castle. The staff is VERY friendly and helpful, but the structure is a bit old and the general idea is that it's not that clean. Anyway I stayed there just one night and had no problems at all.

I am travelling alone, so my priorities in a hostel are good location, cleanliness and good wifi. This hostel offers all three. It is the location that makes it 5/5, it is about 2 mins walk to dotonbori and the same to Namba station. The hostel is clean (the staff start cleaning at 11 every day), the wifi connection is strong, it dropped one night but I told the reception and it was back on by the time I came back after my day out. The staff are really friendly and happy to help out. I will definitely be staying here again when I am in Osaka.

We have stayed here for 3 nights, and the main reason is it location and price, not too far from Namba Station, Shinsaibashi Station, Dotonbori and the main city center area (shopping street/arcade Shinsaibashi). The staffs were friendly and not much of issue in term of english. The room has a very thin wall and door, so you can hear sounds like door closing/opening, footstep, people talking in the other side of the wall etc. Also, be prepared to wait for toilet or shower room in the morning and in the night.

Hostel Q the location close to Shinsaibashi and the Staff are friendly. The issue only less toilet paper at night. I've stayed there for 5 night in the Female dorm. The bathroom has a hot water and running 24 hours also strong water, no problem with that. I may come again when visit Osaka. The best thing is the wifi very strong into the bedroom so we can browsing while lay on the bed. Even my brother so amaze because I made a call via kakao talk and no disturb call.
