Hotel's Favorite
The customer service is very good. Check-in went smoothly and we are lucky that we are able to check in in the morning. Staffs are very courteous. We tried the breakfast for one day and we really enjoy the food and service. Food spread and quality is good.
Room is excellent. The condition of the room is very good and clean. We were luckily to get the 31st floor and we were rewarded with a great view of Osaka city. The view span beyong Shin-Osaka area. The bed is very comfortable and I love the fluffy pillow.
The hotel is located very close (5mins) walk from Hotel New Hankyu, where the airport limousine bus stops. There are plently of restaurants located just next to the building and it is really useful if you are tired after a long day exploration and want to find a nice restaurant close to the hotel.
We will definitely stay in the hotel in our next vist to Osaka.

I have stayed here from between 2 and 5 nights ten times over the last seven years. It is not a budget hotel but well worth the money. Breakfast is expensive but again worth it at least once during the stay as it is a very clean buffet with table service too.
The staff are always happy to help and the location is max 7 minutes to the various station platforms in the local area.
It is a quick hop to the airport buses too.
Lovely pool and very good gym. Bathhouse is good too.
The beds are fantastic I keep meaning to ask them what the mattresses are because they give me the best sleep despite the Time difference. BOSE sound bars in the room that can connect via blue tooth so you can listen to the BBC while relaxing in the fantastic baths.
My only complaints have been once in 2018 they would not let me in the bar as they had a private function for the Japanese Rugby Team and the second week of Jan this year I could not get a room and ended up staying at the New Hankyou; never again neither New or any staff saying Thank you.

Intercontinental Osaka! Japan is my 142nd country and Osaka was my first stop. I’m really glad that Intercontinental Osaka was the place I stayed in. As I arrived at Kansai Airport, I rode an airport bus going to the bus station then the hotel’s Range Rover (yes, a range rover!) picked me up there. How amazing is that? When I arrived at the hotel, the staff welcomed me and showed me my room and wow! The room is so luxurious. I was really expecting that my room will be elegant but didn’t really expect that it would be THIS elegant. The room is totally clean and the ambiance is very nice. The bathroom? I’ve never been to Japan but I heard a lot of people saying how awesome and “unique” the Japanese bathrooms and toilets are. And they really are! Just wow. The hotel itself is also fancy. Having a swimming pool, a bathhouse that’s like an “Onsen” but with fewer minerals, and a jacuzzi. You’ll really feel a total blast staying at Intercontinental Osaka.
The hotel’s restaurant is also a must place to be! It is one Michelin-starred French restaurant with a beautiful view of the Umeda area. I had a seven-course French-Japanese lunch and what can I say other than it was totally a good one! Now I’m craving those foods again.
To be honest, even at the very moment that I’m still in Osaka I already thought of coming back. And I would really be happy if Intercontinental Osaka will accommodate my stay again. It is a highly recommended hotel for those planning to travel to this wonderful city in Japan!

This hotel is always my favorite hotel in Osaka, the service and the facilities is 5 star! Hotel is conveniently located close to the train station with multiple shopping malls varies from high end to daily necessity.
All the staff speaks perfect English, I love the Byredo bathroom amenity with very nice fragrance. The hotel is with great ambience with the Xamas tree up!
Is my first trip after covid and is good to stay at the hotel that I always choose, staff team makes me feel like a home away from home. The GM and DOR are really professional and friendly!
One thing to highlight is the restaurant use aero gloves so all the patrons can simply put their hands close to the machine and get the gloves easily before you take the food from buffet table.
I love the view from my room, you can feel the dynamic pace of the city life but also able to relax in your room due to the great noise insulation.
I love Intercontinental Osaka!
Thank you for treating me well and I will be back!

We had a "residence" room that is one-bedroom suite with a full kitchen and a washer/dryer. It was at the end of our Japan trip and the washer/dryer came very handy. The location of the hotel is amazing, 5 minute walk (if not less ) to the Osaka Station, and there are abundance of restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops of all levels in the Umeda area. Great view of downtown Osaka from our room. The staff was very friendly while being professional. They would accommodate any of our needs. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Intercontinental Osaka. I've stayed at the near-by Ritz Carlton and Hilton, also the Imperial Hotel near the Osaka Castle in the past but this one is, so far, the best one in Osaka.

It is often said that true luxury lies in the details. If so, then the Intercontinental Osaka is a masterstroke, rendering a sumptuous tapestry of fine living that resonates with discerning travelers worldwide. No wonder it is touted as the best Intercontinental hotel in the world. I stayed here and booked rooms for my staff and I.
My experience began with a seamless check-in, elevating the standards of what is generally expected even at five-star establishments. As an IHG Royal Diamond Ambassador, I was greeted with a level of excellence and superior service that was truly unparalleled.
I had the pleasure of staying in one of their Penthouse Suites, which was nothing short of spectacular. Spacious and adorned with a sophisticated blend of modern and traditional design elements, the room made an indelible impression. The amenities were top-notch, making it abundantly clear why this property has received its prestigious reputation.
The breakfast buffet was another showstopper. Offering a grand spread of various cuisines, every bite was a culinary triumph. Each item was prepared with skill and precision, delivering on both taste and presentation, thereby standing out as one of the best breakfast experiences I have had.
While the hotel's dining options are tempting, I chose to explore and eat dinner and lunch at nearby restaurants. Osaka, after all, is a food lover's paradise. However, the excellence of the hotel's breakfast buffet makes me curious to try their other dining experiences on future visits.
The property's amenities were enhanced by a team of staff who are in a league of their own. Every individual I encountered, from the concierge to the housekeeping staff, displayed an incredible dedication to service. It's the kind of hospitality that makes you feel more than just a guest—you feel like part of an exclusive community.
The Intercontinental Osaka is not just a hotel; it is an institution that sets the gold standard for hospitality worldwide. It is the epitome of luxury, comfort, and elegance. If you're ever in Osaka and seeking an accommodation experience like no other, the Intercontinental Osaka should unquestionably be your first choice.
I can't wait to return and relive this unforgettable experience.
Sincerely,
Mark Mariano

The hotel is great, and the location is very convenient: within walking distance from many great shopping malls and Shotengai where there are plenty of restaurants to enjoy.
The river is nearby, which was great for running, and the hotel could even provide us with a map with several running tracks. The train station is also adjacent, making travel anywhere easy.
The room itself was great and spacious; the espresso machine was stocked with 6 capsules, a generous offering compared to the usual 2 at other hotels. The fitness room was fantastic—open 24 hours with a wide selection of machines and weights. Very pleased with it.
During our stay, the team was very welcoming and helpful, trying their very best to make our stay as enjoyable as possible and we were truly impressed.
It would have been a 5-star review, but I accidentally left AirPods in the room. I asked the hotel if they could send them to my next hotel in Osaka which they agreed to do, but AirPods never arrived. We wouldn't be disappointed if the hotel asked us to pick up the item in person, instead of saying yes but never honour the commitment. I eventually had to pick them up myself. Small incident but was a bit stressful.

The hotel can be reached from JR Osaka station via connecting skybridge, which is convenient (it slightly complicated as you cross on the skybridge, then eventually go down to the ground floor to the elevator, then back up to the 20th floor reception). You essentially walk through a large shopping area to reach the hotel building and the reception is on the 20th floor with separate elevators from there to the guest rooms. The lobby is bright and open with great views of the surrounding city. Check in was quick and efficient. Diamond Ambassador benefit were recognized. Rooms were clean and comfortable. One minor drawback is we requested servicing of the room and left around 9 AM and returned by 3 PM and room was just being serviced at that time, which was inconvenient. However, the room was spotless. My only other criticism would be the room was a bit dark for my liking (not enough lighting). We had 2 rooms, one of which was a junior suite, which had an expansive walk in closet and nice sitting area. The location of the hotel is ideal for shopping and dining (Umekita dining on the 6th floor of the same building has several restaurants as well as easy access to subway and to trains to Kyoto. Maybe the only disappointment was the buffet breakfast. Staff was excellent and proactive, but I was a bit underwhelmed with the food options. We did not try the French restaurant. Also surprisingly, the dinner buffet had a 2 hr wait when we inquired, so it may be best to make a reservation if you are considering eating dinner at the buffet. Overall we were satisfied with our stay and the location is ideal for exploring both Osaka and as a base to the surrounding area like Kyoto.

I stayed here for one night for a relaxing night away by myself. I am a busy Mum with 2 young children, so this was a little treat for me to take some time out by myself for one night. I took a lot of time to think about where I wanted to stay. And I am so glad that out of all the hotels I researched, I chose the Intercontinental. It was absolutely wonderful! The staff are friendly and professional.....everyone I encountered was so helpful and lovely. A very high level of customer service.
I did not eat at the restaurants (although I am sure they are fantastic!). However, I did order room service. The meals were delivered quickly and were hot and delicious.
The room was outstanding for cleanliness and was neat and tidy. Everything was fully sanitised, modern and beautifully presented. Impeccable attention to detail. The one bedroom suite is very spacious with a walk-in-wardrobe and beautiful, full-size deep bath.
Location wise, the hotel is right in the main shopping area of Umeda. So many shops and restaurants right outside of the hotel.
I cannot fault my stay at Intercontinental. Everything was impeccable. I will be coming back, for sure!

This is an excellent hotel connected by Grand Front Osaka directly to Osaka Umeda train station in less than a ten minute walk. All staff from the front door and check in were professional and polite. They were also quite willing to assist with any requests such as directions. Check in was quick and painless.
We stayed in room 2807 for six nights and it was not far from the top floor and on the same floor as the Club Lounge. Views were excellent overlooking the city and the river. It was an excellent spacious room with a work desk and multiple seating areas. It featured true independent air conditioning that could be set to any temperature you wanted. There were plenty of powerpoints including a universal international one and USB ports. It had an excellent king bed and offered some of the best sleeping conditions we have experienced. There was not a single sound to be heard from the hallway, neighbouring rooms or outside. Not bad for a city located hotel. There was a good sized bathroom with bath and walk in shower and good amenities. We were surprised to discover that we never came across any cleaning trollies in the hallway. It turned out the staff wheeled them into each room as they cleaned which left the hallways uncluttered. It was the first time we had encountered this.
Food offerings were very good. We dined in the club lounge which featured a quality breakfast from 6.30am daily. There was both a small buffet and ala carte options including both Western and Japanese offerings. Lounge access meant we could enjoy afternoon tea which was both a visual and gourmet experience as well as evening canapes. Normally the evening drinks on offer can be quite limiting but here there was a very good range including cocktails, sake and wine. Our only slight negative comment was that the offerings only rotated every second day which became a little repetitive after six nights. A special call out to Kiren who provided unbelievable service even remembering our breakfast drinks order. Overall a highly recommended hotel.

I believe it does. A person is also required to have a swim cap back in 2017
I am a reformed smoker, the worst kind. I am not sure if this IC is totally nonsmoking and did not detect any unusual smell; I am certain they will accommodate
It is, and it looks nice. But we didn’t try it. We tried the adjacent bar, and that was stylish.
