We really enjoyed our stay at Travelodge Honmachi Osaka. We especially liked the premium mattresses available in our room, and the high-speed internet really kept me connected throughout my stay. I also enjoyed the social workspace, and the unlimited beverage machine was the icing on the cake. It is also located very near to the subway station, and it make my travelling around Osaka felt extremely seamless.

Travelodge Honmachi Osaka provides a great balance of comfort and practicality, making it an excellent option for travelers who want good value without sacrificing essential amenities.

I stayed in a Standard Single Room, which is specially designed for solo travelers like me. The room featured a comfortable single bed, a TV, a functional workspace, a safety deposit box, and a mini-fridge. I appreciated the addition of a bar for hanging clothes, which added to the convenience. The ensuite bathroom was clean and spacious, complete with a bathtub, making it a lovely spot to unwind. Overall, it was a comfortable and well-equipped space for my stay.

If you’re looking for an affordable stay in Osaka that doesn’t compromise on comfort or convenience, Travelodge Honmachi is a solid choice. It’s ideal for those who spend most of their time exploring the city but still want a clean, comfortable place to relax at the end of the day.

Overall stay was great. The room and bath area were big enough compared to other hotels in the area. Service was awesome, people in the reception area were friendly and accommodating. However, a bigger, regularly cleaned and maintained service area/laundry area to cater a large number of occupants as well as extending the time of use of the common area/working area in the lobby will definitely improve the overall experience to excellent.

PRO
Hotel is in the CBD area, so it was very quiet during the weekend.
Location is excellent and access to almost all the attractions via the subway system.
Hotel superbly clean and hotel staffs are very cheerful and passionate.
Language is not a barrier.
Foods are easily available with the famous Dontoburi just a 1.8km walk or 1 train stop away.

CON
First timer must spend a bit of time to familiarize with the exits from the subway.
Once you have your bearing, it is smooth sailing.
Lastly, don’t carry too much or large luggage bag ( the smaller the better) a lot of staircases to walk and transit.

I had the best time in Japan and staying at Travelodge. The place is brand new and super clean. The staff are helpful. The facilities are enough for us who travels daily and only occupies the room at night. The toilet is spacious compared to other hotels such as in Tokyo. Heating and cooling is working well. Short distance to Hommachi station with 2 exits nearby. I feel like this is my home. The only comment I have is the breakfast. They only have 2 sets of breakfast every other day. Meatballs and sausages that alternates from one day to the other. No other choice.

The old Arietta has been replaced by a Travelodge. I've always stayed here when I go to Osaka on business since it was the old Arietta. Unlike regular business hotel chains, the bathroom is quite spacious. No problems with cleanliness or amenities.
The only thing that's a bit inconvenient is that there is only one elevator for guests, and it takes a while to get there in the morning. I'm even thinking about staying on a lower floor and taking the stairs, but there are so many inbound foreign guests these days that it might be a bit rough on the lower floors?

The price is quite cheap, so I recommend a slightly larger room rather than the lowest category.

The breakfast is simple.

Big disappointment. They initially put us in a room that smelled terribly of mold and mildew. Additionally, in several places the floorboards had worn through the varnish to bare wood. We had to request that they move us to another room -- frankly it's shocking that they tried to put us in such an atrocious room in the first place. Another major problem is that this hotel has ONE elevator for 15 floors and hundreds of guests. Several times we couldn't even fit into the elevator and had to wait 5-10 minutes as it went back up and down multiple times until all the other people had cleared out. The laundry was also a waste of time. There are two machines, again, for hundreds of people. We just took our stuff to a laundromat. In terms of location, it's 15 minutes from lots of great things, but the immediate area is not so great. Also, the breakfast selection was small, pretty boring, and not very good quality. The one positive thing I'll say is that the staff is very nice. We liked them a lot. Otherwise, no way. This place is a bargain, and you get what you pay for. A low-quality budget hotel. If you can afford to pay slightly more for a better hotel, I would do it.

Good location near Honmachi Station on the Midosuji Line; also walk for around 20 minutes to Shinsekai Market with a lot of restaurants. Very nice room, quite big (compared with Japanese hotels). I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back!

A small, neat and tidy hotel. This may be the case everywhere these days, but it sees a lot of foreign guests.
The room seemed to have only the bare minimum of functionality, and although small it didn't feel too cramped. Still, the space for the sink and unit bath was quite spacious, which was nice. The whole room also felt clean. I liked that the pajamas came with separate top and bottom sets.
The only negative points were that the walls were thin, so you could hear quite a bit of noise from the hallway and other rooms (although it wasn't loud), and you couldn't view the TV from the front. I think it would be better if the TV had an arm that could be moved freely rather than being fixed to the wall.
Overall I didn't think it was bad.
