We stayed here a few years ago and they continue to offer smallish, clean and quiet rooms served up by a patient and attentive staff at an affordable rate. The rooms are small but was more than made up for by the great location near subway stops, the train station and multiple shopping/dining areas within a short walk. We stayed her four nights and had the buffet breakfast each morning for around $7.50. The buffet had many items to choose from, including a fresh salad bar, omelets, bacon, pancakes with jam, croissants, Japanese fare such as picked veggies, seared fish, rice, miso soup, coffee and juice.

Hotel is conveniently located near to the Osaka Metro which makes it well placed for travelling into and around the city. The hotel itself was a little hard to find, look for the tall pink building. When we arrived the staff spoke very little English, enough to get by with check in. They held onto our bags until check in time which was appreciated.
The room itself was nice, small like usual Japanese hotels but enough for us.
Breakfast however was very average. The first day we had breakfast a member of staff gestured for us to sanitise our hands, no issue however then proceeded to not ask any Japanese customer to sanitise theirs. This improved on our subsequent visits however we found ourselves finding other things to eat outside of the hotel buffet after breakfast time.
A lot of the food was lukewarm, especially the bacon.
I'd stay here again, but possibly not partake in the breakfast in future.

It was a long way from the factory last time, but this time I got a new building from Sakurabashiguchi, Osaka. The staff are friendly and you can stay with confidence at Uefa. At the end of July, KITTE building can be made tea, meals, etc. is very convenient, I look forward to next time

Good Location. 8 min walk to Umeda and Nakatsu metro statiosn. Rooms were clean and fine for the price. Breakfast was average. What WE DIDN'T LIKE was - Staff couldn't arrange cabs for us to go the airport!! In the morning,we told the staff to call cabs for us for 4pm in the evening, and they told us at the last minute that they were not able to call any cabs. What kind of hotel doesn't have a tie up with any cab companies? We had to walk with our luggage and 4 year old child to next street to stop cabs running on the street, which was very inconvenient and made us 20 minutes late.

In total, we had stayed 10 days in Hearton Kitaumeda. In the middle of the trip, we checked-out to stay in Kyoto.

Space is a concern. The walking space in a twin-sharing room, is as big as the aisle in the aircraft. That is just enough space for you to open up 1 hardcase luggage at one time.

Breakfast is provided in the hotel. 7am - 930am.
For first few days, it was still enjoyable. But there was limited variety and food is always the same.
Japanese food - miso soup, rice, some Japanese dishes etc.
Western food - hash brown, hard-boiled eggs, buns, salad etc.
Thus, when we checked in into the hotel the second time, we were getting sick of the breakfast.
It would be more enjoyable if you are having a short stay there.

Free wifi is not available in the room. Thus, every evening after dinner time, you will see guests sitting at the lobby using their handphones & laptops.

In terms of location, I agree with another tripadvisor member - the hotel is much nearer to Nakatsu subway, which is facing Ramada Hotel.
Nakatsu is 1 stop after Umeda station in central Osaka. From there, about 5mins walk to the hotel.

However, on the first day of arriving Osaka with our luggage/s, it was a hassle for us to get to the hotel.
We took the train from Kansai International Airport to JR Osaka station in Osaka central (the airport train does not go to Nakatsu subway station).
JR Osaka station and Umeda subway station are connected, via the mega-underground shopping mall. But it is a long & tedious walk, when you have big luggages. If you are a first-timer to Osaka, you feel like you are in a maze in the underground. You will need to follow the signs faithfully to get to Umeda subway station.
And in many Osaka subway stations, there are more steps than elevators. Limited number of escalators too.

When you finally get to Umeda subway station, Nakatsu is just 1 stop away. The hotel is a 5 mins walk away, behind Ramada Hotel.

On the return trip to Kansai International Airport, I decided to take the Airport Limousine Bus. Bus tickets can be purchased in advance, from the reception counter at Hankyu International Hotel, which is just 3mins walk from Hearton Kitaumeda. It is a much more convenient way to get to the airport.

* Please note, do not be confused with another hotel, Hankyu New Hotel. They are 2 different hotels.
* There are limited pick-up times at Hankyu International Hotel. Alternatively, you can lugged your luggages to Hankyu New Hotel, where the Airport Limousine Bus terminal is located. More options for pick-up time.
* This Bus, pick-up time @ 7.35am, travels from Hankyu International Hotel, to Hankyu New Hotel & Hilton Hotel, and then direct route to Terminal 1 & Terminal 2 in Kansai International Airport.

On other days when you do not have to lug your luggages around, Hearton Kitaumeda offers conveniences for you to find food & great shopping. It is a few minutes walk to a Hankyu Umeda station. From there, it is well-connected to Umeda subway station & JR Osaka station via the mega-underground shopping mall & Hankyu Department Mall.

If your budget permits, Hankyu International Hotel is much nearer to Hankyu Umeda station. Diagonally opposite the station.

First of all, the staff are excellent, very helpful and super friendly. There were no problems with bringing and leaving our luggage early and then checking in later at their check-in time. We arrived around 10AM and the staff knew instantly that we wanted to leave our luggage and come back later. It is very near the Nakatsu subway station, exit #4 on the Midosuji Line, probably a 2 to 3 minute walk, and only one station away from the bustling Umeda station. This was very helpful because the stations are close enough to walk to get to the lively areas full of shopping and places to eat, and there's less confusion when exiting onto street level from Nakatsu station since there's less people and navigating signs involved.

The smaller room size isn't a big concern if you pack light and you're organised. We only took out what we needed and put it away when done with it. The bathroom was bigger than I expected, and was supplied with Shiseido products (bonus!). It's not a luxury hotel for stay-in relaxation away from home, you're meant to go out and explore. It is an excellent place to stay if you're on a budget and want a very clean and modern room, close to transit and near a lively neighbourhood. I would definitely stay there again.

This is one of the newest hotels in Osaka and its a great location, just 5 mins from Nakatsu Subway and the Umeda/Osaka Station. It's quiet but still convenient. Rooms are decent by Japanese standards. Many affordable restaurants nearby. Opt for the buffet breakfast as its hard to find a decent sit down meal early in the morning. Simple selection with both Japanese and Western sections, items are rotated and we stayed 7 nights and only had the same items twice at most. And it has free wifi throughout the hotel so you don't have to huddle in the lobby and the signal is strong so you can surf comfortably. Would stay here again

Stayed here for 3 nights. This is a very convenient area - close to shops, restaurants, subway station (Nankatsu is about 5 mins walk, and Umeda is about 10 mins walk) and Osaka JR Station (about 15-20mins walk). Hotel is new, the rooms and toilets are clean. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Osaka, and other areas like Nara or Kyoto.
Do print out the hotel's name and address in Japanese if you want to ask for directions.
If you're taking the train from the airport, please exit at the Midosuji exit. From there, it's about 20mins walk. If you're taking the airport limo bus, please stop at the Hotel New Hankyu in Umeda.

We spent seven days in japan and stayed in the same hotel in our trip. We lost one iPhone in a taxi in Kyoto and we even forgot to take the receipt from the taxi driver. We all thought the chance of finding our iPhone back was very slim :( Thanks for the service of this hotel that helped us to call the police and the taxi company. Luckily, the iPhone was found and we were so happy about that ! (p.s. the iPhone was even fully charged when we received it !). It was an amazing trip and we were all impressed by the beautiful culture of Japan. Back to the service of this hotel, the room was clean and comfortable. It was close to the main station in Osaka - Umeda station, where is the major transportation station in the city. If you wish to go to other neighbouring cities, e.g kyoto, kobe or nara, this hotel will be a great choice for you as you can easily find different railway systems here in just a few minutes walk. In addition, there are a lot of food streets near the hotel and some big shopping malls as well. There is only thing I want to mention is the refrigerator provided was too small and not cold enough - my ice cream was melt and the fruit cannot be stored for a long time. Besides of that, all the things are wonderful. Definitely will reconsider the hotel again in our trip to osaka next time.
