Basic accommodation with a good location, near the station. The room is in the typical traditional ryokan style, which means you need to "build" your own floor bed in order to sleep. The bathroom is not bad, considered the Japanese standards.

Stayed as part of a group. Some of us had western rooms whilst the others had traditional Japanese rooms.
Breakfast was cute. They tried hard to make western breakfasts (by their own initiative) but they missed the mark (points for trying though).

I loved the public bath/spa... The room is big and almost near all the attractions and shopping mall..the toiletries were also included.. Free flowing of coffee and tea..its a 5 mins walk from kyoto station.. It has a television and ref in the room
We stayed at Hotel Station Kyoto West Hotel in a traditional Japanese Room.
Location wise- it is a short walk from Kyoto Station which was good, and there are restaurants nearby. We didn't have breakfast or dinner at the hotel's own restaurant so can't comment...More
