I lcame to San Yu again. Good location, everyday bus to the Fair. Good room clean, clean bathroom sometimes with lack of water perhaps because of high floor but acceptable. Very difficult to find personel who speaks foreigh language, restaurant closes very soon. But the saty was pleasant. WiFi available but with problems like everywhere in Guangzhou if you have foreing sim card.
We were very satisfied with this hotel, location, clean room big enough, big bathroom. Only problem is knowledge of foreign laguages by the staff. The second one was lack of money exchange possibility in the hotel because to exchange in a bank on the street is very difficult.
I booked this website through C-trip. When I arrived, I find a dilapidated 3-star way past its glory days and spruced up with el cheapo refurbishment. Why scam? There is no gym as displayed in the Ctrip website. Ok, never mind, let's go to the pool instead, then I was told it is located 3 blocks away. I don't fancy walking on the streets in my swim gear so just stay in the room instead. The 3rd choice would be easier if the room did not smell faintly of urine. In this this hotel, I have seen the lowest ceiling for corridor, and also the smallest toilet bowl! It is also the one and only hotel I have been in China that does not have bottles of mineral in the room to greet you the moment you step in. Summer can be a thirsty affair. Even for a paltry 258 rmb without breakfast, it is not worth it. You are better off in a budget hotel. Despite having prepaid for 2 days, I checked out the following day. I would have canceled the room on the same day if it wasn't so late already. They are trying to attract customers by a lucky dip with ping pong balls, I think they should be getting down to basics for example be truthful. Or like getting a photocopy machine so that the customer checking in dont have to wait so long for the bell boy to get the passport photocopied. Or how about the complimentary bottles of mineral water in the room (2 RMB). Far from metro station and the only redeeming factor, plenty of eateries around. The experience is not even worthwhile for me to write anymore.…
