Dont spend your money on an expensive hotel in the centre of town with tourist trap restaurants when you can stay a quick metro trip away in a local neighborhood.

We made this hotel our base for exploring Moscow for six days. We brought a train pass and used this for sightseeing and returned each night to dine with the locals. The train station is a short walk down the street and trains leave it seems every two minutes.

Back to the hotel. The building has been coverted into a hotel and being a mercure has all of the comforts you need. Rooms are clean and cosy with a great bed and hot shower with good water pressure and toiletries. Staff are super friendly. We had room 413 which faced the street. Its a busy thoroughfare with buses and trams but the heavy glazing cuts out this noise and its not intrusive.

Wifi was strong in the room but weak in the dining room. Breakfast here is expensive 900 roubles each and is not winner. Hot food was cold and the orange joice was reconstituted. After one breakfast we went to the deli cafe on the corner and had breakfast for a fraction of the price with the locals. There is a bakery and cafe in the same block as well.

Dont get your laundry done here. Its the most expensive we have seen anywhere. Its cheaper to go down to the mall and buy new underwear than to get your existing stuff washed here.

Getting there and away: we arrived by transfer from Moscow station after getting off the trans siberian. To get back there cost 315 roubles with yandex and a good half hour depending on the traffic.

We would stay here again for the stellar location and eat with the locals.

I picked this hotel for an extended stay (2 weeks) in April 2021.

The hotel had the room ready on my arrival in the morning, I also got an upgrade, which was a very decent added value to the stay.

The room itself was sparkling clean, there were welcome drinks (and the staff refreshed mineral water regularly).

The bed was comfy and there was sufficient space for a small office (two people didn't have much trouble sitting with laptops and working simultaneously).

The personnel was very polite and welcoming.

Overall, it is a good value hotel and I recommend it for other travelers, who value central location and comfortable rooms.

We stayed at the Mercure Moscow Baumanskaya for 3 days and celebrated the new year on the Red Square. The Red Square is only 2 stops away on the metro from the hotel. The hotel to the Baumanskaya metro station is only a 5min walk to get to, so easy to travel around the city. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was very good.We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone. But the best thing about this hotel is the Reception Staff who are all very freindly and helpful. One member of staff (Tonya) went above and beyond the call off duty to arrange for us to visit an Ice hockey game. If you have an Employee of the month award this young lady would deserve to win the prize, she is a great asset to your hotel.

It's painful to watch how Russian Mercures keep degrading their level of service, saving money on every aspect of the hotel experience: what was previously a great set of amenities now got reduced to the cheapest slippers ever, what was previously a decent breakfast is now a very limited food choice (or, actually, a lack thereof). I understand that everyone has to survive these days but even with all pandemic-related restrictions in mind, this is not the Mercure I'm used to live in.
Good thing is that the pandemic hasn't changed anything about the great location of the hotel and the staff is still very nice so if you're OK with the lowered Mercure service bar, go ahead and book it (but please skip the breakfast offer, the Bratia Karavaievi next door are much more value for less money).

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Mercure Moscow Baumanskaya hotel. It is nice to hear that you have found the location of our hotel convenient and our staff professional. We appreciate such a wonderful praise. Still I am very sorry, that you were so disappointed by your recent stay. Sorry that slippers quality did not meet your expectations. As you know, in 2020 hotel industry worldwide experienced an unprecedented crisis. In response to the pandemic, we have made tremendous efforts to continue to uphold the values of hospitality and generosity. After re-opening of our hotel we were forced to deploy several temporal measures in order to secure financial liability of the company. A significant price dumping is one of those measures. Many thanks to you and to all our regular loyal guests, who trust us, keep coming to our hotel and we are always pleased to prove high quality of Mercure service. We do hope to welcome you back again and we will be happy to discuss your suggestions on our buffet breakfast menu. Warmest regards, Irina Nacharova General manger Mercure Moscow Baumanskaya Hotel

This hotel is a good choice for foreign tourists. It’s quite central, a couple of stations from The Red Square. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and big enough. The tram has a stop in front of it. The underground station is 250 meters from it. There are supermarkets and fast food shops nearby. Breakfast is full and high quality. The staff deserve all our thankfulness, they provide you with useful information about directions and they are very kind and efficient. When we return to beautiful Moscow, we will try to be guests at this friendly, cozy hotel. It’s been great to spend five nights here.

Nice cozy hotel central location on a tram rail. I was asking for a quiet room, and got the room on the tram rail and construction site. So, nobody taking care about your preferences. Just for your understanding tram starts around 5am and construction works a bit later.

I requested early check in at 8:30 am in advanced. And it is worked, I arrived and I got my room straight away! The room was spotless clean, nice Mercure style design, with personal welcome message on the TV. The location is excellent. Advice: if you come from St Petersburg or somewhere from the Leningradskiy/Passazerskiy station area, don't waste your energy to use the underground system to reach the hotel. Much better if you use tram # 50 , stop is located just front of the station main entrance, go to the platform where everyone stand (other direction noone stood).
You can buy a ticket from the driver for 50 rubel, and the tram is stop exactly in front of the hotel. (That means you get off the train, step 5 and you are in the hotel). The stop is one after the Baumanskaya metro station stop.

I stayed at this hotel for eight nights in February 2016. Because the hotel is very reasonably priced, I wasn't quite sure whether it would be of top quality. Suffice to say that it certainly is. Everything was exactly what I wanted. My room was large, clean, comfortable, and warm (and the temperature could be adjusted with the control on the wall). The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was top-notch. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The free wifi connection to the Internet was excellent. The room came with a refrigerator and a well-stocked coffee-maker, plus two free bottles of water every day. Everything was great. I will very gladly stay at his hotel again in the future.

We stayed at the Mercure Moscow Baumanskaya for six nights in May 2017. We arrived early morning after a long trip from Australia ( pick up at the airport was organised by the hotel) and despite check in time being many hours away, we were told there was a room available for us to have immediately.
That was a great start to our stay and we thank you for that.
The standard room was a quite a reasonable size, very clean, a nice modern bathroom with the biggest rain shower, there were a number of English speaking news channels on the TV, coffee making facilities, a small fridge and two comfortable chairs plus a small table. Two small bottles of drinking water were provided every day. Wifi was free and worked well at all times.
We elected to forgo the breakfasts available at the restaurant attached to the hotel, instead buying fresh inexpensive pastries from the bakery just a few doors up and enjoying in our room with a cup of coffee.
The hotel is outside the city centre, but only two Metro stops and it was fun, easy and inexpensive to use the Metro to go in and out each day. We found it very appealing to see and experience the real side of suburban Moscow, as we interacted with a number of the local businesses. Supermarket, ATM's, restaurants, cafe's, bars, bakery and the Metro are all within a few hundred metres of the hotel.
We had room 219 which faced the street, so there was a little street noise, but nothing to complain about, in fact we opened the window each night to sleep to make the room cooler. The central heating was still on from the winter and was far too warm for us and it cannot be adjusted independently. We find it a common problem in cold countries when you travel shoulder season.
We found the staff were so very helpful at all times, offering advice, translating, organising a reservation, it was simply a pleasure to stay at this modest hotel. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Mercure Baumanskaya.

We went to Moscow for the first time in our lives and stayed here for 3 of total 4 nights. The hotel is a magnificent, clean and convenient hotel when staying in Moscow. The staff were very helpful and spoke good english. We booked the "cheapest" room, but still the room was very good. Nice bed and a very modern stylish bathroom with a huge shower. Everyday bottled water was replenished and the cleaning staff did a great job as the room was spotless everyday. The breakfast at the adjoint restaurant wasn't an excellent one, but adequate. I would highly recommend this hotel and the location was superb (easy access to metro, shops, restaurants and bars). Wifi is free.
