I haven't been to Paris yet however this hotel was exactly what I would expect from a small frech hotel/guesthouse.
Cozy breakfast restaurant, small (17m) but clean and well equipped room, clean bathroom and professional and polite staff - what else is required for a short stay in Moscow? Added value was a prime location - with Tverskaya metro station within 7 mins reach; Red Square was a 20 - 30 mins walk away.
We loved breakfasts too.
I would recommend the hotel to tourists who are looking for warm atmosphere and simplicity.

Location is excellent 3 min walk to Metro station and 15 min walk to the Red square in quiet neighborhood away from traffic noise, very clean (cleaning women are very neat, and doing an excellent work), reception staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are small (no seating area) but nicely decorated, beds are very comfortable, our first room was on the third floor, it was very nice and quiet, Hotel upgraded us last day to a deluxe room on the second floor, it had a nice Jacuzzi but the windows where blocked by a generator room walls, and you can hear the generator noise all day.
WiFi is fast with steady signal
what we did not like is breakfast.
very few options and dishes are not refilled quickly, so if you go a little bit late it is possible you'll find only some leftovers. restaurant staff hardly speak any English

The "Hotel de Paris" is located in a very nice and safe area of Moscow. The neighbourhood is quite lively and there are many good restaurants in close proximity. There is also a metro station close by and it does not take more than 20 minutes to walk from the hotel to the red square /kremlin area. (The place is a little hard to find though, as you have to go through an arch and a courtyard to get in. Both our taxi drivers struggled to find it !).
The hotel itself operates about 20-30 rooms, which are quite spacious and in excellent condition (like new). All are equipped with TV, minibar, safe, air-condition, etc ..., and there is a good free wifi service all over the building. The staff speaks some english and is happy to help to book restaurants, taxis, etc... The breakfast is nice too and includes a buffet and a choice of cooked omelettes and pancakes (they also serve food in the evening but we haven't tried it).
For the downsides, there is no lift in the hotel, so you have to carry your luggage in the (pretty wide) staircase, and the sound isolation within the building is not so great, so you may be bothered if you have noisy neighbours above you.
Overall, I wouldn't say the place is cheap, but it is a very good alternative to larger Moscow hotels. Highly recommended.

First visit to Moscow with friend. We found this hotel from Bookings. It is located near Trevskaja metro station. It is 2 metro station from Belarusskaja station where aeroexpress stops. It would have been 1000 rubls with taxi but with 250 rubls metro card you can travel 10 trips.
Hotel was a bit hard to find. It is not by the street it is hidden behind other buildings and what is stupid the hotel name is not written in normal international languages you have to know russian letters.
Hotel is small pritty clean and new. Rooms ok. Nice bathroom. Tv and wide bed. The walls are pritty thin. You can hear noise from other rooms. No street noise at all. breakfast was ok. Yougurt, coffee, tea, omelets, bread and so on. Vegetables were not that fresh. It takes 15 min to walk to Red square. Many nice restaurans near. We tried the famous Cafe Pushkin.
In all hotel is well located, pretty good value for money. Not perfect but ok. With same price I would go back. And Moscow was a nice experience. It was safe, everything worked ok, people were frendly and food was good. Lot to see. Nice museums, icehockey and history. I recommed to go and see yourself.

First of all, this is a fantastic location for both work and play in Moscow--right by the metro and walking distance to Red Square (if you can walk 15 minutes). Also near all the cute restaurants and cafes near Patriarch's Ponds.
I had a first floor room, which was spacious, but it was basically in the basement, so windows were high up and pretty near impossible to open or close. This was an issue for me, because I never could figure out how to get the fan to work, and the room was consistently a bit too warm.
Also, my overhead lights wouldn't go all the way off (one stayed on at medium dim and one at low dim) unless I removed my card from the switch box to turn the power off entirely (which I did, but it meant I couldn't charge phones, etc. overnight). I asked the front desk folks twice to get it fixed, then gave up.
The internet was free, consistent, and strong--serious plus. The bed was comfortable, with nice bedding, etc. The bathroom was a good size, with amenities, and great water pressure, though the whirlpool jets in the tub didn't work (I didn't realize this til my last night, and forgot to mention when checking out, so don't know if it was a problem in my room or something else).
Breakfast was ok, with cold buffet and eggs, blinchiki, and syrniki to order. The rolls were nice. The croissants for some reason were similar to those found in a lot of American hotels (e.g., bready and heavy). They have the tvs tuned to the news weekday mornings but, for some reason, to loud pop on Saturdays and Sundays (they will turn it down if you ask).
Speaking of loud pop music, the breakfast room is also the hotel restaurant, and it's on the first floor, so from a first floor room you get the restaurant noise, which is particularly bad on Friday and Saturday nights, with the aforementioned music and loud groups going in and out.
Staff is friendly, though not always responsive (see lights issue).

The best thing about this hotel is the location. Just a 3' walk from Tverskaya metro station (just past McDonalds) or a 20' walk to the Red Square. The hotel is not obvious to see, you need to walk through an arch and into a courtyard. This means though that rooms are quiet.
Hotel is fairly nee, therefore rooms are modern and clean but a bit small. Standard rooms are on the lower ground level, which means that the get little natural light and windows are hard to reach. It was quite hot when we stayed here and we'd rather had open windows than the not so efficient a/c.
Toiletries in the bathroom were quite basic so we had to use ours.
Wifi was free and reliable.
Breakfast was really good and Pavel (in charge of the breakfast room) was really attentive and polite, our favorite staff member.
Main issue with the service was that we were overcharged (in error) at check in. There was no argument when we challenged this but it took about 2 weeks to get our refund, i.e it was payed back to my credit card several days after we went back home.

Great price for a fabulous location close to Metro and an enjoyable walk to Red Square. McDonalds very nearby. Peaceful, quiet, and secure. English functional staff. Free WiFi. Great breakfast for free. Nice amenities in modern, updated room and bath--robes, slippers, toiletries. No elevator to second and third floors. May need to ask for first floor if unable to get your luggage upstairs. Famous Pushkin restaurant very nearby. Wonderful shady parks with benches nearby. Spotless! Able to reserve taxi for us at very reasonable price to the train station. Huge tub and bed are nice for two!

A very quiet and small hotel, with spacious rooms and lovely staff. The location is excellent with bus stops and the metro station near by. Breakfast could be better, as it has few varieties. Not having an elevator is also a slight problem.
