This hotel was located a good block from the main road and was just right. The rooms were well appointed with cleanliness of a high standard. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was very good with a variety of different items to suit most people. the GUM store was nearby and it was a magical place t stay in December - the Christmas decorations around the city were the best I have ever seen anywhere! The location was good int hat it was an easy walk to a lot of the main attractions. Would definitely stay here again.
Budapest Hotel was situated in a lovely area.GUM,Bolshoi, Kremlin etc.A few blocks to walk to where you wanted to go.Food and Supermarkets around the corner.Having twin room gave us a large well appointed room to move.Staff lovely and security guard 24 hours.Having little Russian and staff little English we all communicated very well.
the room was clean and comfortable . very good breakfast !! in the center of Moscow very close to Большой theater and red square I love Moscow and I like this hotel I will come back soon. the receptionists was polite
Myself and four friends were looking for an alternative winter break and picked Moscow. When looking for a good place to stay, the Hotel Budapest met all our requirements and proved to be an excellent base for exploring the city. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious with all the comforts: coffee making facility, towelling gowns, kingsize bed, TV, minibar fridge. Historically, the Hotel Budapest is one of only five hotels in Moscow over 100 years old and still operating as a hotel!Even Lenin was here to give a speech in 1918!!! Hotel Budapest offers comfortable, charming and straightforward accommodation at a very competitive rate for somewhere so close to the city centre. Highly recommended!
The only positive for this hotel is it's location. It is very dated and rooms are in terrible conditions. We had to change room but was just as bad or even worse. The manager made no effort to see us which we requested for both verbally and email. This was the last leg of a five country tour and we chose to spend 5 nights , not realising it was going to be a hellhole with no proper management that cared about it's customers. Even in South Africa our 3*** hotels are a hundred times better that this hotel that rates itself as 4****. My pictures are proof of the level hygiene. They couldn't even do the beds properly or rinse the glasses. When we checked in and changed rooms the rooms only had provisions for one. And what a mission it turned out trying to request for items.
