Staff at this hotel were young, pleasant enough, but I would suggest a course in service, quality, and cleanliness. We booked a double room some months in advance, arrived at 10pm , and found 2 single beds instead of a double. The toilet seat was broken, the instant hot water unit leaked profusely when operated, hand basin dirty, aircon unit, cable and plug unbelievably grubby. The room generally had an "unclean" appearance. The next morning we asked for a change of room, handing the reception a list of complaints from our first night! The alternative room was a big improvement. However, on several occasions , house keeping staff forgot to leave clean towels, or toilet paper, and one time, the bath mat! Doesn't anyone keep a checklist? Hot breakfast served on a cold plate, doesn't do much for pancakes, and the bacon on the one occasion that I ordered it, was akin to a stiff piece of cardboard, unchewable! Breakfasts were barely passable in my opinion, and generally cold. However, the security guys on the main door were great, and pro active, always ready to call a cab. Front desk staff were always pleasant and obliging.
Stayed at this hotel some 5 years previously, and have to say that it hasn't really changed, or improved, as we made similar comments back then about the breakfasts /housekeeping, and not very well trained staff in those areas.
The hotel is in a good location, easy to get to the City and shopping malls. Just needs a touch of QSC (Quality, Service,Cleanliness) . Has no "Wow" factor at all.

An average room in an average hotel in an average filipino city.

Nice but aging room where everything worked okay but there only one night in a pinch.

Hallways have few sound aborbers like carpet and wall hangings, and doors are not tight, and so sounds reverberate, at least on the main floor.

Not much to say. Is okay. Okay?

A decent place to stay in Iloilo, for families on vacation or business travelers.
We booked an Economy Room (good for 5 pax) at P1400/night (off peak rate) with 2 double deck beds and one single bed. The room is spacious, with towels, soap and shampoo provided for 5 persons. The room has very good air conditioning and a functioning hot shower, with pail and dipper (tabo) provided as well. The hotel has two wings, the first wing has an elevator while the annex (where we stayed) had no elevator. Since we all just had our backpacks with us, the trek to our room wasnt much of a hassle and we even appreciated this bit of exercise. Meals are NOT included but the hotel has a lobby cafe that serves food and drinks. They also offer room service.
* Please note that hotel is at the back of Go Sam Bldg, hotel entry is by way of a wide driveway
* Highway 21 General Luna Rd is just beside Sarabia Hotel
* Public transport (taxis and jeepneys) are available in front of Go Sam Bldg
* SM and Robinson's are one jeepney ride away, just ride the jeep across the road
* Convenience store is located at the building fronting the hotel
* BPI Bank/ATM is available across the street
* A coffeeshop, Coffeebreak is within walking distance (200 meters)
* Do try Ted's Lapaz Batchoy and Breakthrough Restaurant while you're in Iloilo
* Last minute affordable pasalubong shopping is available at the Iloilo airport

We have this huge and very important project in Iloilo so I frequent the province. I feel right at home here not only because my mother hails from this place but also because the people are genuinely warm and accommodating.

Whenever I go here, there’s this hotel that I check in to: Highway 21. For a couple of nights’ stay, the price is really cheap. It’s location? It’s right next to this very expensive hotel Sarabia Hotel so you can have that as its landmark. I got to stay first at Sarabia in my early days in this province. Then I caught wind of this cheaper, waaaaay cheaper hotel, just right beside it so I tried it out. Since then, I’ve been a patron. I used to think it was a sleazy motel but it isn’t.

Just how cheap is it? A single room is around a thousand bucks only. Meals NOT included. But they serve the heartiest breakfasts! Or you may walk to the nearest fastfood.

They’re quite accommodating too with requests. Once I asked them to store this lechon (roasted pig; a superb delicacy in Philippines and other former colonies of Spain) in their kitchen’s refrigerator. Hotel usually charge for this but after negotiating with them, they waived off the fee.

Ilonggos (those that are from Iloilo) are known for their sweetness and gentleness and it’s not different in this hotel. The staff is helpful and courteous. Though, sometimes you need to give super clear directions to them. I don’t speak their dialect so sometimes it’s hard for me to tell them what I’m requesting.

The rooms here are modest, nothing fancy, just what you need. If you're concerned about the bathroom, I attached several photos of it for your viewing pleasure. The rooms offer no good views at all. When you look out the windows, all you see are rusty roofs of the nearby residential area.

It’s almost by the roadside of Gen. Luna street so public vehicles ply the area all the time. Although it’s next to busy road and a flyover, you’d find the place quiet because it is tucked inside this small compound. In front of it is a single-storey commercial space, blocking the view of the hotel from the road that you wouldn’t really think there’s a hotel somewhere behind it. The hotel’s got two buildings, with three floors each. The parking can accommodate maybe about 20 vehicles. There are no amenities here like spa or swimming pool.

I have made a very unpleasant experience with Highway 21 Hotel and its team. I stayed 05 May 2010 arriving 6pm from Iloilo Airport. During check-out at 8am for Antique L300 Trip staff are not helpful, you will drag your own luggage out and find your own taxi.
If I would asked to rate this hotel, I would rate it as a hostel. No way it is a hotel. I have got a proper sized room with bathroom and staffs were not friendly.

From the street, this hotel seemed puny standing beside the giant Sarabia Hotel that there's an 80% chance of ignoring it. Once we entered its driveway, passing thru the lobby all the way to the room.... the peaceful and fresh ambience was just eminent. David against Goliath came to mind(I've seen the rooms in both hotels). I liked the fact that they informed us prior to our booking that their rooms in the new wing are bigger than those in the annex, and that only their new wing has an elevator. I like their patio too . Overall, it's a relaxing place to stay in.

We stayed 1 night in Smallville 21 and another night in Highway 21. Believe it or not, it liked it better staying at Highway 21. The staff are more accommodating. It felt more like a resort than a hotel. besides, the rates are better.

I stayed in this hotel for two nights and was able to try their matrimonial de luxe and the basic single. Overall the rooms are pretty decent, service average. Food is a bit pricey considering quality and service but there are always nearby restaurants you can try. Location-wise, its also accessible for both taxis and jeepneys.

The only real complaints I have for this hotel is their service and the room they assigned me on the second night. First, they failed to return and locate the items i inadvertently left in my first room telling me that their cleaning staff never turned over anything to the front desk and implying I may perhaps have lost these along the way. Terrible thing to infer since I am certainly sure I left the stuff in the room on the first place and I never opened by luggage bag during the day-travel it was with me.

Second, the room they had for me on the second night was terrible since it was near the employees' quarter, there were noises and people would always loiter in the area, especially those undergoing on the job training. Say goodbye to your privacy too since going in and out of your room would mean encountering a phalanx of trainees along the way who look at you in some quizzical way. Never get rooms on the second floor from 204 to 208.

Oh, their wi-fi service also sucks and forget about 3G and LTE since it also has poor connections to both Globe and Smart.

I've stay in a superior room, large room with a good quality bed, aircon work well. It's affordable, the room worth the price you pay for. They have a menu and you can call them for your order, they bring the meal in your room quite fast. Food is ok but too small quantity. The bathroom is pretty big, hot water, high pressure, clean. It's a quiet place. Staff is helpfull. Nearby there's a small supermarket. The hotel is approximatly 20 min from airport by taxi, 10 min from molo plaza.

The rooms are cozy, clean and the cost is very reasonable.
Wifi is available too, staff are friendly and service is good.
My friends and I attended a conference in Iloilo City and the place is located near the city center, hence near to almost all local establishments.
Transportation is not going to be a problem and restaurants are available near the hotel.

If you are on a tight budget for a quick trip, I recommend Highway 21.

Their rates are posted on their site. Better google their site. I can't post it here. I prefer staying at the New Wing than the Annex Wing, but both Wings are good.
