Located only about an hour's drive from Iloilo City (either via Janiuay or Pototan), this farm coverted into an agricultural resort and a center of spirituality offers a quiet and relaxing refuge from the city's frenetic and noisy lifestyle. There are various types of air-conditioned accommodation (double, triple, standard family, dormitory) inclusive of breakfast for two for those who intend to spend a night or two, two refreshing swimming pools, some function rooms (for meetings, conferences, seminars, special occasions), a chapel, a fishing pond (where you can feed the fish), lots of gardens, etc. The place is also open for day visits (with an entrance fee of only Php 50 per head). I highly recommend their restaurant by the pool that serves great organic green salad and othet equally delicious dishes. The first thing about going to Eprathah is the roads. One wonders just how many more people might go there if the roads were half decent.
The booking in procedure, like all other resorts of this standard in the Philippines, is a long-winded, over signing bit of utter nonsense. The cost was reasonable but one should be aware of the different standards of accommodation, facilities and pools. Tip: Book before you get there. I took a family of 6 adults and 3 kids and it cost me about 3000 php, not counting the money spent on buying the food and drinks.
There is no doubt the place is quite beautiful and well set out with the gardens, the upper and lower pools, the accommodation units on the lake, and a zip line.
The lower pool is quite large and has cottages around it and you need to reserve one of these as they were all booked out when we arrived. Otherwise you are relegated to the big building at the end and sitting on plastic chairs at portable tables. Not quite as nice.
Bring your own food and drink. We brought food but no drink and here was the first illogical aspect. There was no place to purchase drinks unless you paid for the top pool area where there was a drink dispensing machine. So, you had to walk all the way back to the top entrance, ask the guard to let you out, then go to the local Sari Sari store and buy cold drink, which, once brought back to your table got warm quickly. Can anybody tell me why they can't sell cold drinks? Then again, can anyone tell me why they didn't sell food as well? The logistics involved with guests having to cart food and drinks so far seemed a lost opportunity for the business. And a nuisance.
Another silly idea - entry to the pool was from just one side. So if you were the plebs like us, that meant a long walk around past everyone's cottage / cabana to go for a swim. In the end, we simply got out of the pool nearest where we were sitting, then stepped over the small fence and bushes. Everybody else in our area started doing the same thing. Really silly.
The pool, as I said was large, but unfortunately, it was not very clean either. The water clarity left a lot to be desired and there was that telltale black ring around the pool at the water mark. That's not good enough to be honest.
Walking around the gardens was nice and there is a glass church situated in a beautiful setting. There are accommodation units on the large man-made lake which looked good but we didn't go inside to see the standard. They were air conditioned and entry to each was via a bridge.
We walked to the top and wanted to go on a zipline ride but there was nobody there. So we thought it was closed. When we were leaving there were people ziplining which was annoying. Maybe we missed the signs that said the facility was available at particular times.
The top accommodation also has a pool and an eating area / restaurant type of set up. If I was planning a weekend away, it would be at this level. It was far superior to the area we were in. Again, book it before you go. This was very private and classier than the bottom pool area. AND they had food and drink - go figure.
If you didn't have a car, then hire a van, as we did. It would be a nightmare getting to this place with jeepneys and tricycles and would no doubt take up most of the day in travel time.
Would I go there again? No and Yes! I live on a resort superior to this place and far more accessible. The trip from Tigbauan was long, add the roadworks and traffic, and to me it's not worth it. The pool water quality was also a turn-off.
The Yes answer is - if I had a car and I was able to book the accommodation and pool area at the upper section, it would make for a pleasant weekend stay.
It depends on what you are looking for in the way of a day out, or weekend getaway. I have provided reviews to other places here in the Iloilo area where you can get food, drink and have a cool swim. This place would rate low on my list if given a choice.

And they check at the front desk, they even ask you to take your wedding rings off and they will inspect them to see if they match, they will even question the age difference, and ask if you ever divorced in the past, all of this may or may not check you in.
Single guys be aware, you will be watched, they will check if you are wearing a crucifix or not and if you have a tattoo, you wont get a room.
So we couldn't get a room because we were married abroad legally but not religiously (specifically catholic married)

Another great resort a few minutes from the City of Iloilo.
The rooms are good. Spacious. With hot and cold shower and veranda. The pool is also very near.
Although they're strict on the number of pax but it's understandable.
There are two pools (Public and Private)
Private is for the over night guests.
The sun flower garden is a must see along with the glass chapel.
The place is still developing so I'm looking forward to visit again soon.
I also love the food especially the garden salad.
I also suggest you check out the dragon fruit plantation although it is outside the resort but it's still a part of Ephrathah.

Ephrathah Farms a venue outside the city where you can relax with your family. This is also a good venue for an intimate wedding, teambuildings or just even a quick getaway or vacation. They have spacious hotel rooms and dormitories. They have zipline, wall climbing and bike rentals for guests. They have 2 swimming pools and you can make a tour around their farm. The restaurant also offers very delicious and well-prepared food and menu. The staff are friendly and they treat you as family. Definitely a special place for me and my husband and will definitely go back.

It was fun discovering the glass chapel inside the farm - I've never seen one before. The chapel was real pretty and the owner said they have a lot of bookings for prenup pictorials - and even actual weddings.

The cute cottages looked fun to stay in but we were not planning to stay the night so we passed on accommodations. The layout of the cottages is interesting though - semi clustered around a lagoon with local fishes that can be fed for a minimal fee. This was a super fun activity as there were a lot of hungry fish waiting for their food from us - I've never been so well received in my life!

The farm manager was also very fond of colorful flowers that he planted and arranged in interesting shapes near the lettuce beds. Lots of plants and vegetables - some of which were even sold in their little store run by the farm workers' cooperative.

They also have a mango-shaped swimming pool, a small restaurant, zipline, ATV, and other activities.

We were pressed for time so we missed visiting their dragonfruit farm. With just a couple of hours, it was physically impossible to completely roam this huge farm. And to my delight, the farm practices organic farming - and we bought some of their organic produce like plump papayas which were dirt cheap (I couldn't buy more than 3 kilos for lack of baggage allowance).

We plan to go back for a longer visit - maybe even stay over night.

We have visited a couple times and it’s always an awesome experience. This is a great place for family bonding and to get away from the city buzz just to unwind. It would also be a great venue for team building and Corp events or even just for photo shoots. We had a family outing to celebrate a birthday and we reserved 4 rooms at the hotel area for the couples and a dorm type room for all “the boys” (from toddlers to the elderly single) . Check in was a breeze- the staff are efficient and friendly. The rooms are impeccably clean, spacious &comfortable. Showers have strong pressure, ample outlets in room for charging gadgets. Though initially booked in adjacent rooms, they graciously offered to move one room to a more convenient location facing the pool area which was more accessible to our PWD family member. Swimming pool fees are waived for hotel guests. WiFi connection is available but telco band signal is not reliable & spotty. The restaurant serves dishes with ingredients from the fresh farm produce -
one might think a bit pricey until you note that most are organic. Structures arranged so that the natural terrain is preserved -even cemented walkways are configured to get around tree trunks. The paths are PWD friendly as there are ramps wherever necessary. Aside from the Mango shaped pool in the hotel area (plus a kiddie pool) there’s an Olympic sized pool (and another kiddie pool) in the more public area. The dorm type accommodations (air con with bunk beds for 14 pax with full bath) are situated in a lagoon above a Coi pond. Fish food in plastic bags are hung by an “honesty” box where one may drop P10 per pack to use for fish feeding - the kids had a blast here. Strolling around the property is not only relaxing but educational especially at the ecofarm area as well as inspirational (Bible verses are engraved on plaques at strategic locations). The crystal cathedral is a lovely architectural feature that boasts of A-1 quality sound system. Moreover they have a concept photo studio/cottage which one can rent by the hour for private shoots. It has lighting equipment and tripods ready to use but our family paparazzis were happy to use the natural light coming from the lovely French windows in the cottage. There’s a corner designed like a cafe/bar, another set up like a library, another like a foyer with a faux fireplace and mantel. There are roll up backdrops and we can move the furniture around. The family shoot was a highlight for our visit. Across the reception area is a shop where one can buy fresh farm produce. One can also buy herbs for planting.

Serene place about over an hour drive from the city. Place is good for those who love to have a stroll and commune with nature. The place has fruit bearing trees which produce are sold at their shop. The swimming pools, zip line, fish pond and green house are some of their activities. They also have overnight rooms and a basketball court for leisure.
Farm to table food served are great but not so budget friendly for local pockets.
Look out for houseflies when you decide to dine outdoors.
The place has still an opportunity to be developed and improved.
