Kundutel is a premier hotel in Bacolod City, Western Visayas region- and is idealy located at Goldenfields Commercial complex. Near the domestic airport.

I've been to this place about three times since 2001. One particular incident was when my friends and i decided to book a room for a night in lieu of our "reunion".

Here are the REASONS why we ended up choosing Kundutel instead of other downtown "fancy" hotels such as El Fisher or Business Inn:

>> The Location. Yes, although downtown Bacolod seems to be the "hip and happening" area in the city of "smiles", Goldenfields Commercial complex has a lot to offer as well.

>>Carlo Ristorante Italiano, MO2 bar, Pizza O, Chicken "inasal" resto's, minute grocery shops, Casino Filipino..etc.

>>Getting around the city is easy. Taxi cabs and jeepney's are a mere 2 blocks down the main highway.

>>The PRICE of the standard rooms are CHEAP, yet you'll feel as if you're in one of the suite's... very spacious and comfortable beds...w/ a/c and tv..

>>The hotel has NO swimming pool, but they do have a fantastic restaurant located at the lobby "Kristin's" that specializes in Rib eye, T bone and Porterhouse steaks!! ;-)

-------------------------------------------------------

with easy access to the new malls along the area of Tangub, Kundutel guests will be getting alot more than comfort and security... staying there is a lifestyle.... a not so 5 star hotel but you'll get a 5 star service....

Kundutel is just an okay hotel. It is far from the city proper and not easily accessible. It is an old hotel and not well maintained. Hotel food is not okay. It has a pool but a very small one. It is a last choice hotel for the travellers. Especially during Maskara Festival where bookings should be at least a year for a good city / downtown hotel.

please disregard my travel date.
my husband's family stayed here when they came to visit us (april 2011)

we booked them the ambassador's suite. a great room for a big family of 5! the room was big and spacious, bathroom was clean, you can see the whole of goldenfields from our window.
staff was just okay. housekeeping is available on request.
the room smells faintly of tobacco while the corridor and hallway is reeking of tobacco smell. unfortunately, this hotel had seen better days. nowadays, all you can see here are foreigners with their new-found lady friends. not really a good sight for kids.
price is affordable though.

Since our hair-raising experience in one of the rooms where we stayed during our coverage of a sports event in the early part of 2000, we never dared checking in to Kundutel again.

On our last night during our stay, my colleague and I hardly had any sleep as we were kept awake by loud taps on the wall coupled with the sound of a side table being pushed back and forth, which emanated from a vacant room next to ours.

I'm not sure if other guests had similar experience, but certainly, this hotel is haunted and must be avoided by those seeking a good night's rest.

NEVER AGAIN. My wife and I booked the Presidential room for two nights. On The first night of our stay, the water coming out from the faucet were a bit yellow. We thought maybe it was just the color and water was still clean. Come second night, the water coming out from the faucet sink, shower, and toilet were now brackish. We waited for two hours hoping it will clear out but the state of the water condition did not change. We complained to the hotel management about the situation. That was almost midnight and we could not even brush our teeth. Their first recommendation was to do our entire bathroom needs in an adjacent room and just come back and sleep to our original room. What kind of a suggestion is that! Nonetheless we checked the water situation at that room but unfortunately it was the same. The next choice was to downgrade us to another room. We were tired and getting desperate that we took that offer. The water situation was better but the room was crawling with spiders. The toilet bowl has cracks and water I think were seeping through the cracks (I posted some pictures).

I was checking out of the hotel the following morning and I told them that we were not happy the way we were treated. I can’t believe that the staff did not even extend any apologies for the events that had transpired. I asked if they could reduce the cost of the second room. The staff had the guts to answer that we checked-in late for the second room and no possible concession can be extended. Did we choose to transfer to another room? I demanded to talk to the hotel manager and the most he could offer was a 5% discount on the room.

Beware that there is a bar right across the street. The noise coming from that place is loud.

We booked the Presidential room because the price was really low. I should have listened to the old sayings..”If it is too good to be true then it is not true” or “You get what you pay for”.

We chose this hotel for location. We arrived late in the evening dead tired from a whole day travel. The hotel was having their employee Christmas party and we don't want to be such a grouch. However the noise lasted until 11:30pm and we could sleep. To top it all, the bed was like concrete hard and nothing can be done about it. Bathroom floor tiles were not maintained and cleaned properly, dirty grout, dirty basin, just plain gross! We woke up with a sore back and worst with stuffy nose. Checked the aircon filter and it was just filthy, you could grow a plant on it. Staff just don't care, initially they want to charge us all the nights we booked and never even bothered to ask why we want to shorten our stay until I enumerated all the flaws of this hotel. Management doesn't care anymore about this place and yet they opt to continue operating. We will not come back to this place anymore! Still cause me sore throat.

I was very disappointed with this hotel. We checked in with this hotel via online booking through priceline.
The trip was an official one so I need to ask for a receipt so that I can reimburse my hotel expense. But they said i should get the receipt from Agoda or to whoever third party online booking where I got my booking. That was absurd! Of course I was disgusted when they told me that stupid reason so I reacted negatively. They asked me to contact priceline and demand a receipt from them. I did that but as expected I never got an answer from priceline. So I tried to call and texted them but I think my number was blocked so I sent them an email if they could just provide me with a summary of my account as proof that I stayed in their hotel. But I got no response from them until now. I stayed in their not so good hotel on October 8-9. What a bad experience!!

The hotel doesn't indicate that all their de luxe rooms face a disco/bar that blares from 10pm to 2am. Apparently you have to pay a premium for a "quiet" room.
I am surprised this hotel is allowed to operate at all, considering that the owner runs the whole shopping complex and knowingly allowed a disco to operate beside the hotel.
Whatever the room category, a hotel room should facilitate rest and sleep at night. The front ofice people know about the problem and they pretend its not present; they refer to the noise as "acoustic" but if it is, its the kind where the electronic sound vibrates all the way through the AC.
There are many other better hotel options aling the same road than this.

Again this was one of my favourite places to stay in Bacolod as it's close to the lively Goldenfields area esp the Chicken Ally bar (good bands) and The Black Velvet club gr8 laughs and songs.
Now the hotel gives guests free entry to the Carribean water park just a few yards away its a gr8 place for the family.
Thank you to the staff that made it welcoming and friendly.
The town centre is just a short cheap jeepney or cab ride away.
