Staff is excellent; pool is refreshing — but management needs training. We mostly enjoyed our 5 day stay...but, with some reservations. Rooms are large and beds are comfortable (but the fabric headboards are itchy, should be upgraded to some other type of surface that is easier to maintain) The bathroom sink area is small and was always wet from hand washing. (shower area large — unnecessarily) There was no offer to change the towels & bedding — but they should have. When facing a crisis — I did ask for more TP. Out side: The vehicle parking is a real problem — limited only to a few small spaces in front where the guard and the hotel vans are parked (!Huh?) — or around the corner next to who knows what!! (Parking spaces are very narrow and my vehicle door was banged from car next to it) Fitness room by the pool: large & nice (but limited to free weights, treadmills & sit-up boards, just no back-exercise-machines for middle-agers) OK, enough complaining…..but, just one more: my real peeve is the free breakfast. This is always the same issue with every hotel now (even with the previously top-shelf Fisher Hotel down the street) Nobody tries to impress you with their culinary delights anymore! (And, don’t blame this on Covid) They simply serve the absolute, cheapest, minimal breakfast possible because it was advertised — and, nobody seems to care! Just don’t assume that customers don’t notice. What’s my prediction? Savy hoteliers will begin to put a little more effort into feeding their guests — so they feel like he cares just a little more than the guy down the street. It’s just a suggestion. Maybe the towel, the parking, or the lack of some fitness thing would fade away next to the awesome, tasty, free breakfast delight that swept Mr. Cranky guest off his feet every morning! Actually, there are lots of ways to be unique or savy. Mr. Hotelier, these are tough times for lots of businesses. It’s also a great opportunity to step up to the plate and prove to the guests that your hotel really does have something to offer. Just something to chew on.…
Stay elsewhere. Room full of defects plus no reliable wifi. Other guests can attest to it. You would have to use your data. “Discounted” rate doesnt include breakfast. Total rip off. Staff are nice, though.
I am disabled, which was clearly evident when I arrived with my walker. They still put me in a room with stairs. When I requested a room with an elevator access, they put me in a tiny room with a double bed instead of the king sized bed I had paid for. Interesting the hotel's ad promises mini fridges in every room. The room they gave me had neither fridge or their largest queen beds they had available. That evening my wife and I came across a dead rat in their hallway. We took a picture of the rat and the next day confronted their front desk with the discovery. I gave the hotel one day to correct my room, or I would release s picture of the rat. My threat worked, as I was immediately given an upgraded room. Despite the hotel's assurances that there were no other rooms available a day earlier. I have no problem with their staff. The staff are all friendly and extremely attentive. But there is no supervision present at the hotel. You have to discuss any issue with the staff who promises to check with their supervisor. Unfortunately, the invisible supervisor hardly gets back to you. I was happy with the ungraded room, but the first three days of aggravation was not discounted by the two remaining days with an upgraded room. Once our pre-booking was completed with the Avenue Hotel, we moved to much better hotels for the rest of the month. …
The hotel was clean, staff were very polite and friendly. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is situated in the heart of the city and just a walking distance from Ayala, restaurants, desserts and coffee shops
We used to like this hotel on its early days ( we stayed about 4 times in this hotel) however the last 2 stays we had in this hotel was terrible. On our last stay, no prior information that there was construction going on so the noise during daytime is bad even if you still just wanna sleep. We also ordered their "bestseller" grilled (tuna or salmon, i cant remember). When the "bestseller"was placed on our table, the fish size was so small the room key card was even bigger. When I asked the waiting staff how many grams is the fish they could not answer. She said she will ask the cook.Waited for a long time but when she finally came back she just placed on the table an additional super small fish without any explanation and went away. When I called her and asked about how many grams the standard fish was she said even the cook does not know and thats why she placed the additional super small fish. I was so shocked at the attitude and the was they handled it. I was not after an extra food or even free food. I simply asked a legitimate question to which was not answered. I asked Front office staff for a duty manager but as always no one is on duty. Even when I followed up the next day there was still no manager. We will no longer use this hotel on our trips to Bacolod.…
