I stayed here for 3 night and was extremely pleased.

The hotel is very clean and for the price it would be hard to find another deal like this in town. Internet is available in the lobby and sitting area of each floor but I was unable to log in in my room.
Breakfast was included and every day there is a different filling available in your omelet. I met a couple there when having breakfast and we sat there for hours. Our waiter kept refilling our coffees and water with a constant smile on his face,. No extra charge for his smile nor for the coffee and water.
The staff is vey friendly and helpful. Location is as I am a walker, 20 minute walk from the pier, 15 minute walk from the park and market, only a couple of minutes walk from all the newer restaurants and expats hang outs. Of course once you use a taxi or motor bike ride, everythink is so close that it does not make a difference. Personally I truly liked this place as all what I am looking for was exceeded by the extra steps this hotel and management has taken.

Great price, clean, friendly, good location and free coffee. Need I say more :)

If this review is helpful to you, then please give me a thumbs up. That's all I ask of you :)

Safe travels and be happy !

My husband and I, together with our only daughter, stayed here for a week last December. It was more than what we expected, for a very reasonable price. It has all the amenities of a hotel (hot/cold shower, air-condition rooms, cable TV, fresh linens) except for a pool. Their staff are very friendly and accommodating. They have free internet access but not inside the rooms, only in the lobby, lounge, restaurant and other common areas. They even offer free breakfast! What more could you ask for? They are located across the L'Fisher Hotel ... So if you're in a very tight budget then this hotel is for you. We will definitely stay here again!

I really am from Bacolod but I have my friends checked in at this hotel when we had our exams in the conference room of the same htl. It's very decent and staff are friendly. only that, wifi is working well only on the corridors. and i like its environment- quiet. anyway, if u are just a budget traveller and wants a htl near the center of lacson, this is the good choice!

I stayed at Royal Am rei with my friends on September 29 - October 1, 2012.

My first impression of the place was that it was a deserted hotel, as the lobby seems empty and furnishings bare.

Our room was at the second floor and there was no elevator.

The bed covers were oil stained and was not washed very well.

My only consolation was that the price of the room (PHP 900 or USD 22 for two) included a decent set breakfast (one cup of rice, danggit or langonisa and egg with a cup of coffee) which they prepared promptly for us.

I do not recommend to stay at this place.

I love the rooms. It's clean. It has hot&cold shower. The bed is big. Though the tv is not that clear, but you get more than what you paid for. We paid 3,370 for 3 nights stay. That's a deluxe room already. It's in the heart of Bacolod City, walking distance from all the establishments especially their well-known CALEA resto. Breakfast is okay, hope there's more to their serving and more choices of breakfast please. 😊 Overall stay is great! Definitely coming back soon. :)

We stayed one night at Royal Am Rei en-route to Manila arriving during a very heavy down pour. The road outside, in parts, was a few inches under water. On arrival we noted the guard just lying back on his chair and did not even acknowledge us. Bad start.

We checked-in and were pleasantly surprised by the 'grand' central hallway and comfortable furnishing in the lobby. After taking our room we wanted a refreshment but was told the restaurant was closed, even though the room contained a room service menu! On questioning we were told it would be open for breakfast and that we could call in outside fast food such as a pizza. This meant walking along the part flooded road to get a coffee. We were very disappointed.

The next morning at breakfast we were told that the restaurant was only closed the previous day due to staff shortages. It would have been nice to have been told the whole situation the previous evening as, if it wasn't for the rain we'd have checked-out and moved on!

Then came the biggest surprise at breakfast. We had probably the best coffee so far in the Philippines. The breakfast waiter was excellent. They only provide Filipino breakfast. The longganisa (sausage) was delicious; the best. It's a pity we did not have time to have lunch or dinner there.

The room was nice, clean and had a window with a view. It came with a TV and a quiet aircon. The bathroom was quite clean and had hot water.

A few hundred metres back to the main road, Lacson St, was a number a good restaurants, coffee shops and shops. The hotel is a fair distance from the city centre including the Cathedral and SM Mall, if that is your liking, but only a short ride in a jeepney. Note that you can get transport to the airport from SM which maybe a factor in choosing a hotel location in Bacolod.

All in all we had a mixed experience at Riyal Am Rei hotel. All of the guards seem to have had a personality by-pass. The hotel should tell the guards they are the 1st thing customers see on arrival!!!! And smiling is a thing Filipinos are good at. The receptionists were very pleasant but some need to know and communicate issues affecting the hotel. The restaurant was quite simply excellent.

We would consider staying there again if we had business that far north of the city.

Please note that one of us comes from Bacolod and speaks the language so poor communication was not due to us being so foreign.

Went to Bacolod with friends and still didn't book our hotel until the checkin date. We were told that there are a lot of cheap hotels and pension houses around.

We were searching for hotels through TripAdvisor on our way back to Bacolod from Mambukal, then we saw Royal Am Rei. At first we were hesitant to book because it was very cheap. We thought that the hotel may not be good enough considering ita price.

We arrived at the hotel around 6 PM. Checkin was very smooth. We weren't expecting anything special since we got the room at a very low price. Did I already mention that the room comes with free breakfast for 2? In less than a thousand peso, who wouldn't what that deal? 😀

The room was clean and with complete amenities.
The breakfast experience was superb. We were surprise on how the waiter took our orders. Like we were dining in a restaurant in a 5 Star Hotel.
Front Desk staffs were very patient and helpful.

Overall experience were great. Will definitely recommend this to my friends, and hope to stay again in my next visit to Bacolod! 😊

We arrived midday and was able to check-in. Had no chance to check the room as we had to hurry for our event. When we went back in the evening, noticed that the bathroom emits a very foul smell. Asked Front Desk to check it and was told the housekeeping will come. No one came. The smell was so bad, you cannot even use the bathroom. Around 11pm, we asked again if there is another room we can transfer to but was told that they are sold out. As it was unbearable, we called again for a number of another hotel, but we were given an option to transfer room. We moved room in the middle of the night. The next room was as old but thankfully, there was no smell, but I could not find the right combination just to get the hot shower!!

The tocino and longganisa during breakfast were excellent! We were advised that restaurant closes at 6pm, we went back around 4.30pm and the server has gone, only the cook is left.

Could not fault staff for the shortcomings. The hotel is short-staffed and everyone seemed multi-tasking.

Stayed here with 2 kids who were participants in the Karate Tournament last Panaad Festival at Bacolod City.. Royal Am Rei Hotel was quiet far from the Panaad Stadium, but we enjoyed our 3 nights stay. Our room was clean, with new bed sheets and towels everyday. Daily supply of shampoo and soap throughout our stay. The breakfast was affordable. Although internet connection was on the groundfloor only. Also, no elevator, if we have heavy luggages, we have to carry them through the stars which was quiet exhausting. But all in all, it was a very good stay. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating, too..

I booked this place becaue it was cheap at Travelbook.ph. But the actual place was also cheap, although the room was spacious. I requested to be checked in early because I was planning to leave early the next day but they refused and wanted extra money for the early check in. The WiFi is available at the lobby but it won't connect to the internet.
