As a traveller, you'd want the best bang for your buck. You'd want to stay at a place that's clean and comfortable, but not too expensive so you can still have lots of money left in your travel budget to spend on experiences. And of course, you'd want free wifi, so you can keep in touch and share all your nice travel photos with your friends and family. If you're going to Bacolod, lucky for you, you can stop your search for hotels right now as I have found the perfect hotel for you. O Hotel satisfies all those mentioned above and more.

Rooms: The rooms are big, clean and spacious.
I was actually shocked at how big my room was, given my previous experience staying at another Bacolod hotel with more expensive room rate. In that other pricier hotel, you could hardly move in the room without bumping into something (tables or chairs or luggage) or someone (your roommate), but in O Hotel, i was able to fit 5 visiting family members comfortably in my room to sit and chat before dinner, and no one bumped into anything.

Beds: Big and comfortable
I expected the beds to be small and cramped like the ones in the previous Bacolod hotel I stayed at and was extremely overjoyed to find the beds in O Hotel to be big and spacious, perfect for recharging after a long day. Unfortunately, I was unable to get a decent picture of the room, as my roommate was always very quick to sprawl all over her bed everytime we got home, eager to relax after each tiring day.

Wifi: FREE! In both the rooms and the hotel restaurant

Breakfast buffet: YUMMY! They even have an omelette station!!!! And pancakes!!!! And arrozcaldo!!!!!

Staff is warm, helpful and accomodating. I was also very pleased with their speedy and efficient service. I hate it when hotel staff take forever to accomplish simple requests and am very happy to report that everyone in O Hotel passed my speed test with flying colors.

This is THE hotel to be in whether for business or pleasure, and most especially for the Masskara Festival! Will definitely be back.

O Hotel is a decent, average 3 star hotel. I would have rated it higher but it misses out on some of the basics that good hotels have.
Pros 1/ Location is good being about 5 blocks from SM mall, and San Sebastian Cathedral (10 minute walk). Also 50m from a jeepney pick up point heading north towards Robinsons.
2/ Rooms are big.
3/ Security, cleanliness are fine
4/ Room rates great.
5/ Old aircon and old style TV.

Cons 1/ Bathroom lights ( as reported in previous reviews) and very dark. Why they dont put in brighter, low energy globes is a mystery.
2/ Great kettle. But no coffee cups or tea/coffee satchels is disappointing.
3/No pool. Bacolod is hot nearly year round. There is a huge, mostly empty carpark that could fit a pool and really wow the guests.(The Western MO2 hotel, closer to SM is currently installing a pool).
4/ The Singapore pianist only plays Thurs, Fri , Sat at dinner.

So overall good but a few little glitches that should be easy to solve.

Not satisfied with the staff the don't give senior discount even the vat was not deducted to our payment in the hotel. Would not recommend this hotel. The local government should look into it. Senior citizens Re exempted from vat including restaurant hotel accommodations and medicines.

Had a great stay at the o. Stayed in o suite for 8 days and executive room for 4. The suite was perfect and the exec was fair. Had a problem with ants in the exec room. The hotel is noisy. Every night they had proms going on until early am which wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for the 6am roosters. Get a room not facing the street because the beeping all night long is brutal. The buffet was nice and the service personnel were all nice and helpful. The armed guard 24 hours was a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again but only in a suite.

My friend and I stayed at O Hotel last August 16-18, 2015. It was our first time at Bacolod. This place is really amazing, from the location, service, and especially the staff are extremely friendly and helpful except the front office who's less friendly compare to the dining staff at their restaurant, the guard and the electrician who help us with the channel of our Television. I rated them as Very Good for our overall stay. Will definitely back on this place.

I recently stayed at the 0 hotel Bacolod in March and April 2010. I have visited Negros on many occasions and have stayed at other hotels in Bacolod , the O hotel now being my choice of accommodation.
The hotel has had an recent extensive upgrade. The locality is perfect, an easy stroll to the SM mall and the town centre. Robinsons Mall is a short inexpensive taxi ride away.
The rooms are comfortable. Facilities include, fridge, cable TV, Internet, lockable safe, and coffee making facilities. The laundry staff were all very friendly and efficient.
The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is well laid out with a very good selection of quality food , and reasonably priced too. The restaurant has a very good chef. The bar has a good choice of wine and spirits. The restaurant and bar staff are so friendly and obliging, making the O hotel a pleasant environment to socialize and dine with friends.
Thank you again to all of the staff at the O hotel for helping make my recent visit to Bacolod so memorable.

Visited this hotel twice already and for my third time, it has exceeded my expectations. Service has been excellent - from the lobby, to the F&B and to the housekeeping. Attentive, detailed, heartwarming -- O Hotel is highly recommended!💗

This hotel is pretty modern and up to date. Those who complained about it being dated must need everything to be extremely modern and new in every place they stay. The AC worked fine, good water pressure, lots of hot water, decent bed and pillows. The room size is generous too.

I didn't eat the breakfast as it didn't come with my room rate but I had beer and snacks sometimes in the restaurant and the beer was ice cold and the snacks were OK. Service was at times a little inattentive.

The location is quite near the main shopping district and SM Mall and Manukan Country are a short ride or 15 minute walk away.

The front desk staff were very helpful.

I was SO pleased to have a lock box in my room for a change. Most hotels of this standard make you deposit your valuables at the front desk.

The Southern Bus Terminal is a short ride away at the end of San Sebastian Street which is convenient if you are taking a bus south to Dumaguete or over the mountain to Cebu. The port is also really not that far.

Overall, I think this is a decent hotel at a decent price. I would recommend it to others.

(early in the morning on the same street as hotel just one block away is a rooster market... fascinating to see guys come to buy and sell fighting cocks)

I came to Bacolod to see the old houses/ museums in Silay, the mountain scenery in Patag National Park and the Hawaiian Phillipine Sugar Company area. i booked a superior room on- line from Australia for P1600, and was offered a hotel car pick- up for P 500. when I told he hotel of my travel plans in the area, they offered a car and driver for 10 hours (their minimum period for out of town travel) plus the cost of fuel. i accepted this offer, and was driven around by Ricardo in a Toyota diesel. the mountain scenery was very nice, But the road became very rough and the last few kilometers were impassible. I enjoyed our roadside stop for a coffee and grilled chicken, and saw a lot of sugar cane operations, including cutting by hand and buffalo-powered transport of the cane.
The hotel is clean and very good value, with a good choice of breakfast dishes, including omelettes made to order. My room ( number 412) had an old TV with a good choice of channels ( including BBC, CNN, Australian Network and HBO), a bar fridge, very effective (but noisy) air conditioning, good hot water service and a view of the car park.
Unlike some other reviewers, I found it very quiet at night, and at 7 am there was still not much traffic or noise outside.
Unfortunately the superior room I booked was not available for some vague reason, so there was no coffee or tea making, and I didn't know this although the hotel emailed me several times to confirm my booking in the few days before I arrived.
The free wifi worked fairly well in my room, and was much better in the lobby and restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is very good value for its cleanliness and quiet, good choice of TV channels, bar fridge, help with transport, and tasty breakfast.

Hotel is 5 blocks away from SM. You can take a taxi which is never a problem to get. You can just ask anyone who works there and they are happy to help you. It is exactly 57 pesos which is less than a dollar and 50 cents.
Answer from Jenelyn R
Cebu City, Philippines106 contributions13 helpful votes
It's about 30 minutes away from the airport. Metered taxi fare should be about Php 300-400. Most of the taxi cabs outside the airport though are not metered. They would usually ask for a fixed price of Php 500.
