The Planta Hotel in Centro Bacolod is a good option for a stay in this city that is teeming with activity.

The staff is courteous, attentive, and professional. The facility is aged, but not to the point of disrepair. Instead, it has a classic era quality to it.

We attended a company party last January. Just disappointed with inattentive their staff is. There was not enough eating utensils provided to us. We asked for spoons and forks several times and no one seemed to be paying attention to us. We ate our dinner with teaspoons. We were already eating half way when were given the right eating utensils.
Drinks were also delayed. Food were not that great too. It's just disappointing.

Nice hotel, friendly staff. We did stay for 2 nights. Breakfast for price of room very poor. Got 3 telephone calls from management asking we will realy check out after 2 nights and not forget we would have to check out before lunch at departure day. Never had such an experience before.

The hotel staff are nice, particularly the male waiter; I didn't get his name. They serve a free plated breakfast, and the room is designed in warm beige tones with a comfy bed. Housekeeping swiftly responded to my request, and I appreciate it very much. Overall, I had a good rest.

I regularly travel around the Philippines for business purposes. This particular trip, I was assigned in bacolod and was booked in Planta Hotel for a week, which covers the Masskara Festival weekend. Just a few things I noticed:

- The hotel room A.C. Units were inconsistent. I had a co-worker who occupied a different room and their room was simply HOT. Lucky for me, mine was working fine. They reported it to the reception, but nothing was done. For the whole week they had to bear with the temperature.
- The lamp shade (desktop light) in my room was also busted, I reported it and I got the same result. Anyway there were other lights in the room, so I did not bother.
- They had a pool, a gym (which I never found), smoking rooms without ash tray etc...
- Free wi-fi service which was only accessible in the lobby.
- Free breakfast which was simply cheap. They would have bread, eggs, rice, 2 viands (which would normally be canned tuna, corned beef, cheap sardines, dried fish, pork jerky, hotdogs, cheesedogs. They also had pancakes, coffee, 2 types of cereal, 2 types of juice and 2 types of rice cake.
One particular experience is during the Masskara weekend, I went to have breakfast and no one assisted me to find me a table. 2 other guests came after me and the crew cleaned up a table for them. I found an empty table so I occupied it, another couple came in and one of the crew had the guts to ask me to eat at the smoking area outside (they knew I was a smoker). Nevertheless, you know what I'm trying to say. I calmly put my earphones on and carried on with my business.
- The front desk was nice, which for me was still below industry standards. BTW I travel because of my customer service related job :).
- The hot shower was very predictable, if you want a warm shower, they would exceed your expectation so prepare to be scalded. Good luck in trying to set the right temperature!
- Price - this is one of the expensive hotels in bacolod (check wiki) - totally not worth it. I just moved to O hotel and man... It feels a whole lot better!

Will be making a review for O hotel after my stay there

Terrible service! I do not recommend staying here!
- Front Office service is very unfriendly
- breakfast is super terrible
Masskara days at 9am food refill is almost not happening!
We have to carry and clean the table, rearrange it ourselves... no crew to assist - crazy!

I was very disappointed at how unprofessional the staff in this hotel are. A month or so before i am due to come home to the Philippines,i was sorting out my father's 75th birthday party..it was obviously a big event for my entire family hence why i wanted it to be special.since i live abroad,i emailed Planta hotel to ask for details about the price and what's included in the package.i was told that the said date was available so I made arrangements and asked my sister in law who lives locally to visit the place and pay the deposit and ask why its taking them awhile to reply to my email. When she went to the hotel the day after, she was told by another staff that it's no longer available because a big banking company (BPI) has already paid the downpayment that morning for a function on the same date.how unprofessional is that??they didn't even had the decency to let me know in email that the function hall wasn't available anymore.then a few days later,i received an email from them saying that the said function hall is available again as BPI cancelled their reservation.what a cheek!!that served you right for not handling your clients professionally.i will never recommend booking an event in this hotel if you don't live locally as you'll just be wasting your time..

During the first night in the hotel, I wanted to move to a different hotel already! Awful cheap pillows, dirty tub, grimy hot water kettle, clogged sink, and rough sheets! Closets smell moldy and look dirty! Ref looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years! Worst "suite" accommodations ever. Housekeeping won't even provide hand towels for those in our group booked in standard rooms because occupants for standard rooms are only entitled to bath towels! Room service didn't show up despite repeated requests for utensils to be brought to my room. Never again.

Will Never Again Stay Here – Hotel - Average, Staff - good, DESK staff - RUDE/ DISRESPECTFUL

Hotel is average, stayed twice in the hotel on December 2009 and May 2010, in 2009 we stayed one night only in hotel best room & on May 2010 we book again the best room they have and along with it are complimentary breakfast. And I had an experience in Desk staff where I have to wait to long just to get the voucher card for two for complimentary Breakfast and plus that staffs is so rude/disrespectful its looks like you are the one begging for that Complimentary Breakfast card which is not good in front line business of the Hotel, following with that we had a disgusting breakfast as they don’t know how to make a toast bread. There are some waiters that are disrespectful and do nothing,, all they do is look and gossip. And takes to long to make a soup and sandwiches, where there is no else in the restaurant waiting. Computer should be faster and cover for the car spaces as the car get too hot.

The staff, chef, especially the Desk Staff should have seminars and trainings, desk staff should be more respectful, friendly to the costumers as they are in Front Line Business of the Hotel, they should offer a professionalism and good character to the costumers.

The Hotel should provide enough Towels and toilet paper, and shower should be renewed and as well complimentary purified water as the water is not safe to drink. Hotel management should not provide cheap quality shampoo, soap and slippers as well the plastic cups for coffee which is not fear, and its like a penny pinching attitude, If Planta Centro Hotel management want to provide a GOOD QUALITY SERVICE to their client/costumers they should take actions to all the complain. Hotel management should give more priority to their costumer and Quality service, without us/clients the business is nothing.

Will we Stay Again? NO, I had a Disgusting experience, and I would NOT RECOMMEND it to anyone.

A Superior Suite is approximately 4,500peso per night. At 20 nights the total cost would be 90,000peso, or approximately $1,799.28 at the current dollar/peso rate $1.00 = 50.02 peso). I hope this is helpful to you.
