Stayed here for 3 days. Overall, my stay here was amazing. It may not be as beautiful as the neighbor hotels like Be Resort, Movenpick and Shangrila, but the rooms here are pretty big and comfy. Near the airport and near Rico’s Lechon! Lol

Beach is OK but i would suggest to do a day trip to other beaches located nearby the resort.

Perfect place for events like weddings.

Beautiful resort. There for wedding. My room was spacious and clean. Tv and WiFi working. My concern as a senior was lack of safety bars in the bathroom. Stairs to and from beach were a challenge. More ramps would help.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nicely done.
Wedding venue was bright and decorated with flowers and set ups.
Good stay.

Upon checking in, they have seen me removing my bags out of the car but no one seems to bother in assisting even until i reach reception desk. Then after dragging all my luggages and being busy checking in i turn around and half of my bagages was gone where no one even welcome me and ask if they will take my lugugages. I almost have a heart attack.
Somehow since i set in the room by then i check no facecloth in the toilet assuming it is the standard.
Ignored it til i forget to ask as i was running to pick up my mother to stay with me in this hotel. So when i return with mom nd have dinner here. We seat on the table and all staff was seating on the corner end of the  table wondering what we are doing, of course we are seating and wanted to be serve. 5 mins past nothing is happening nobody approach us so i stand and went to reception nd mind that reception is 5steps away from us as well. I said do we realy have to approach you and ask for service? Is this the standard here? And she answered no mam and called waiter to have us served.
After dinner we went to the room to relax as me n mom ahad a stressful day and wnted to sleep.
During the quite night as was awake and cannot anymore sleep and rooms on top of my room, guest was runnning about screaming and dragging furnitures so i called reception to this and complain all they said is sorry. Rooms are not sound proof imagine that torture as well specially if Korean's are around. Somehow the noise is still there nd slowly gone out.
The ff morning we have breakfast here is not really pleasing as the food quality here is bad, i can have better quality and quality cooking at home. You get bad quality food here like bought in flee market very low end. Plus service again is none. After breakfast again me n mom nd 2 guest went out and back here to sleep only we have our dinner somewhere with better food.
Came back just to sleep. The following day again i have breakfast nd still the same food in quality and sevice the same as i cannot say improvement will happen overnight.
Again did not come back here for dinner and went with mom nd have our dinner in Movenpick instead. And come back here to sleep again and this time check my aminities.
For the third time we do not have amenities,no dressing gown(bathrob),no handtowels, nd no facecloth as discovered we should have it from first day.
Finally today i was officially happy that i will be away from this hotel that you have paid too much that money you cannot even get serve. This hotel is also outdated.
The price here is higher than what you get in return. Bathroom drainage fume smell as well so if you come here pls close bathroom door for your health safety.
I will rather stay somewhere cheaper to this of the same quality of service nd food but will stay somwhere even more expensive to get overwhelme with de luxe service.
Am saying that this hotel is a total waste of money.
To all of you who read this, I can recommend #Maayo hotel more and more and with  #Movenpick for high end. This two you get what you paid for.
#Bai hotel is also rubbish in service.
If you cannot afford this hotel i mention previously there is a very good one as well for 700+/night only, pm me then i can pm you for that.
Thank you for reading and have a nice day!

We spent 5 nights here when visiting Cebu and what a fantastic place to spend our time in. It's a really lovely hotel, absolutely gorgeous. Our room was massive, very comfortable and clean. It's only a small hotel (8 rooms I think) so it feels like your own private fancy villa. The facilities are top class. The pool is excellent and really big with lovely views of the sea. There is also a private beach with lots of space and lovely garden area. It was so relaxing and quiet. The staff are fantastic and so friendly. WiFi was very quick. Breakfast wasn't substantial but did the job- some fruit, coffee, juice, toast and a few choices of hot food. The food off the menu was good- we had dinner and lunch a few days. Service was quick, food is reasonably priced and was lovely. Overall we loved this hotel, it's a real gem and much better than the larger fancy hotels nearby as you get a quieter place with better facilities. I highly recommend it!

Chateau by the Sea only has 8 bedrooms, and we spent 5 very pleasant days at this beautiful and quiet boutique hotel feeling like we had the place all to ourselves. There were other guests, but most of the time it was just our family swimming in the pool or looking for shells at the beach. Although the beach wasn't huge, the water was calm and clear. We loved swimming in the large pool, which did not smell of chlorine like at other big resorts. Our ocean view room was spacious, bright, clean, and had a contemporary look, which we liked. The shared balcony was large, and we hardly ever encountered other guests there. We found the staff to be friendly, attentive, and personable. We had breakfast there every morning - if there are only a few guests around, you're able to create your own breakfast by ticking whatever you wanted from the breakfast selection, otherwise they'd have the breakfast buffet consisting of different local meats, rice, soup, breads, eggs on request, coffee (from a coffee machine), tea, and orange juice. The lunch and dinner menu is limited, but good. We would definitely come here again and highly recommend this boutique hotel to anyone not wanting to stay at a large resort.

Their facilities including room conditions, swimming pool and private beach were good. Also, you can enjoy various water sports such as jet ski, parasailing through concierge, and view of the terrace is like a picture. You can see clear blue sky and sea together!. Most of all, the best advantage of this hotel is that all the staff is very kind!
When I say my girl friend has a little fever, they go to near store and buy very excellent local pills for cold and fever. I will never forget their kindness and services :)

This place is a joke. No elevators, corridor smells like smoke, No A/C in dining room. Small pool. Beach is dirty and unswimmable. This is a 2 star hotel not 4. We came from Canada and when we got to this hotel we immediately left. And of course, no refund!!! Stay away from this place.

Hello all.
This small quaint "Hideaway" (so to speak) has to be the most relaxing quality "hotel" in all of Cebu/Mactan.
This small property has only 8 rooms, a beautiful pool, and a wonderful view of the waters surrounding the island.

We stayed on the 2nd floor (#7), smack in the middle with an outside large deck sitting/viewing area.
As it is a small "beach house" type property, anything on the 1st floor may be subject to a bit of noise.

One almost misses it when travelling down the main road, as the entrance drive looks more like the beginning of a driveway to a home.
The sign is there, but you'd better be actively looking for it.

The help was most gracious, and attentive.

There is a small check in desk on the right, with the rest of the room opening out to the rear.
Inside here, and out to the back, are tables & chairs where one can eat breakfast, or...just relax.

AS it was such a small property, we thought that it would be just buffet for breakfast.
Yes, they did have the obligatory buffet bins there, as expected, but...we were pleasantly surprised to find
that we could also order special requests, as they did have a "live kitchen" also.

We did order omelettes, etc, and there was no problem.
A real plus for a small property like this.

The air conditioning was one of the inside wall mounted units, and you could have made icicles
if you wanted to.

As part of the property, separate from the "hotel" part, was a big function hall bldg. where one could hold
a good size graduation party or wedding, etc.

Yes...the small short driveway opens into a larger front part of the property with room for a good # of cars.

Additionally, you are just a very short distance from the airport there on Mactan.

I do not envy the people who stay in Cebu itself who get caught up in that horrendous traffic, and "have to get to the airport ASAP".

You will never regret staying at this gem hide-away.

Jerry

In conclusion, all 4 of us in my family rated this property as one of the nicest/no noise/no crowds/private getaways
that we used during our trip here in Cebu & Thailand.

Only stayed one night, but this was by far the nicest room I stayed in this entire year. Spotless clean, modern, excellent views from our oceanfront room upstairs. Bathroom very high end, modern, Eurostyle, and LARGE. As was the room, very large. Definitely 5 star beds. Firm but soft. Simple but surprisingly very good food (and cheap by resort standards). Small but awesome pool. This place is perfect for families.

Don't expect much action here. This place is an "anti-resort." Nothing like Crimson or Shangri-la. What you get here is peace, quiet and privacy.

Excellent friendly and helpful staff. What a great place! Beautiful, clean, simple and modern. I will stay here again.

SBG44 asked a question Feb 2017
Singapore, Singapore
How do you get to this resort from Singapore ?
Answer from Olivia D
Metro Manila, Philippines
Chateau by The Sea is located in Mactan, Cebu. There are direct flights from Singapore to Cebu, Philippines. From there, you can take a cab or arrange for a car rental service to go to Chateau by The Sea.
Hufflepuff33 asked a question Jan 2017
London, United Kingdom
Do you offer free airport shuttle or is it chargeable?
Answer from John F
San Francisco, California
I don't know for sure, but I am sure that if you call the Chateau they can help you arrange the trip. A tip...a metered taxi ride from the airport should only cost you around 200 pesos (4 dollars). That's the way you want to go. If the driver doesn't know where it is, tell him it is just a few doors down from the Be Resort.
