DEE guesthouse is a locally owned residence renovated and remodeled by its travel-loving owner to share house with young travelers and backpackers. We are located 15 minutes away from Mactan International Airport. You can spend time alone leisurely or you can just simply stroll since we are walking distance from the main street, public market, pharmacy/convenient store and restobars. And if you prefer elsewhere, taxis and local transportation are easily accessible.
PLUS: Comfortable bed and pillows provided, clean covers, in room safe, AC, kettle, in room TV with clear picture, strong Wifi,Alarm clock, easy accessible plug in for electronic device, clean shared walkways and areas; Helper was helpful in getting a grab ride for me Negatives: 1) as posted:"Guests...shared toilet..." However you are not making it known that the shared 1 toilet/shower will be share by approximately 7 or more people, depending on how many guest you have? Be out front and reword your posting to say 1 shared toilet/bath for both men and women for all guests which could be 7 or more? That will help people take that into consideration. Not recommended for those who really cannot hold going to the toilet. Maybe you should provide an in room toilet pan (arinola in Cebuano) for emergency moments when one cannot hold going to the toilet. Separate the toilet from the shower 2) Nowhere in the fine print or description of the facility that says guest has to remove the footwear before entering the facility. In Canada if the guest/visitor is required to remove outside footwear, the host of the facility will always provide an inside footwear on in the case of clinics leave outside footwear at the door entrance & provide paper or plastic foot cover just like the use for surgery not that you are told to take off your shoes especially if there is a dog in the house.3) Despite the direction and google map we still found it hard to locate the place as there is no signage from the main road, you have to pass by a narrow secondary road before arriving at this place. The grab driver who picked me up to bring me to the airport was lost.4) No mirror in the room, AC was unplug from outside the room, which helper went around to plug AC in.5) leftover used soap in the closet with some kind of hair on it 6) Owner sometimes difficult to understand and will take it personally if you make negative feedback.7) about 30 mins to airport quite accurate with traffic, so still quite a distance in my opinion. …

Was expecting a guesthouse run by a family that would exhibit a certain degree of hospitality. The room itself was great - the shower was great as well. It's just that hosts are likely the most unwelcoming I've ever seen. The owner (a Japanese man) and his wife (a local lady) were not the least bit helpful and one time the lady budged into my private room without knocking. There are notices written across the premises dictating rules and how not to bother the hosts. There was absolutely no greeting, no welcoming, no advice given, no service whatsoever. If you go to their website you'd know that they will not offer any services. You get a room and you get to stay in it. I was also not aware there are at least 3 cats and 2 dogs in the house. Being an animal lover I was OK with this, but the place was not clean, while the room itself was clean. A dead mouse was decapitated on the floor at the point of my check-in, while I sat there for about 2 hours waiting for the hosts. Location-wise it was OK, very accessible from the main road but there wasn't much nearby. The nearest store was at least an 8 minute walk away.…

The worst experience I had in the Philippines, by far! I made my reservation 2 weeks before the date of arrival, I booked a private room. When I arrived, they told me that they don’t have room for me, but they book a bed in the dorm for me. I told them that for the price that I paid, there way no way I was sleeping in a dorm, that’s why I booked a private room in the first place. They didn’t know what to do. They said that they can book something else for me, of course, a way cheaper that what I paid, and not in more far from the airport. She calls her boss, made me wait, call and call again. It was so long. Saying the same thing, sorry, only dorm available. I had to get very angry to made them understand that they can’t overbook and that I wanted my money back. They didn’t want to get my money back. It was so long and complicated for absolutely no reason! I waited for 1h30 to finally book another place, by myself, and finally, they gave my money back. It was so annoying. And the girl finally told me that they book the room that I rent cause I was only staying for one night, and it’s not good for money, cause other guest booked for 2 nights, so that’s why they give them the room that I’ve paid for… Honestly, I think it’s a big lack of professionalism. I’ve been travelling for years, I never had that such a bad service! So don’t book with them, cause anyway, you might arrive and not have a room!…

Dear Ms Marie We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Yes, this is a mistake on our side. Our staff there is just new so we understand and she and we tried our best to make things go well. We understand your anger but we hope you wrote the whole truth only. Unfortunately we cannot possibly contact you directly nor the site where you booked. It is not true that you waited for 1 and 1/2 hr that is way too long it was 30 min though since we tried to contact the booking site. You were shouting and making scene. And it is not true that we were giving you the dorm without the price difference refund and we even offer other accommodation we arrange where you can move since we don't have idea about your arrival time which is same as our rate not cheaper. But you insisted that you dont want it and will booked yourself. It tooked you more or less 5 min to book and even showed it. We gave you the full cash refund since you insisted cash plus the taxi fare. And lastly who is the girl you were referring to since the staff did not told you that your room was given to other because you booked 1 night only no other girl is there and what you assume is untrue, you really is a writer. You were told to be calm and stop acting harshly and even told the staff that she may even not know you are a writer. We know it is our mistake though yet there is no need to act harshly and bad mouth that time. We helped you until you had to go and booked you a cab to your hotel. Again out sincere apology. Godbless.

My sis booked this place for me to stay a night prior to flying out to US via Mactan international airport. Place is clean and cheap ($10/night/dorm). The wifi is really good, AC is good and the place is quite. The washroom is clean and spotless. They also provide a drinkable water in the dorm and some coffee. I left first thing in the morning to catch my flight and walked probably 10 minutes to get a taxi (~ 15 minutes to the airport). The host said that she can find me an Uber on the day of my checked out but since i left so early, i didn't bother waking her up. Just be aware though that this place is far from Cebu downtown and took me ~2 hours to reach this place via taxi because of the traffic. Why I gave it an excellent rating? Because seldom you can get a $10 accommodation as nice and clean as this.…

I came here for two nights so I could be close to the airport - but honestly it's not that close, it's still at least 20 minutes away without traffic and getting to and from is ridiculously frustrating. Getting from the airport to anywhere is absurdly difficult - expect to wait in a longgggg taxi line. I arrived on a Friday night and waiting over 1.5 hours. It cost 300 peso to get the Dee. Thennn getting to the airport from Dee should be simple, but was not for me. I had an early morning flight, so no regular taxis or Grabcars would be out. The guesthouse has a weird policy about not booking you taxis in advance, but I NEEDED this to be able to catch my flight. Not only did they not have any company or individual driver they knew to call besides a random number a past costumer had left them a while ago, but they didn't have a PHONE they could use! For a guesthouse so near to the airport, you think this would be regularly requested of them, but I guess not. So beware! In the end though the woman working there figured out a way to use her Uber account for me and I was saved, but the process took way too long. At the very least there are vans only a short walk away to get you to SM city mall in the heart of Cebu for very cheap. The water in the bathroom is also turned off during the day, so you have to ask to turn it on just to wash your hands, which I thought was weird. They also don't offer any breakfast despite having a kitchen (might be nice for them to stock just some eggs and bread for people to use if they want). And lastly, the wifi only worked in the common area. However, besides that my stay was pleasant. I was sick and desperately needed a quite, comfy place to recover and this place did the trick. Beds are nice and soft and very private, and the AC works well. I slept like a baby here and that's rare :P The staff were friendly, and in the end they got me to the airport in time... so yeah. Tldr: It was fine.…

We just stayed overnight in Cebu as we were heading to a small island to avoid crowed touristic places, and this was one of the best accommodation in the whole trip around Philippines. It was clean, bathroom with everything needed, the rooms were cozy with a very comfortable bed. The only 'but' is the location, which is a bit of a taxi drive from the airport; in this area you will not see many foreigners so it felt a bit weird going out for dinner time, but it was no prob at all. There were many traveling tips on the walls of the guesthouse that gave us ideas of what to do next :-)

We stayed for only one night as we had to fly next morning. Place is ok, clean and well kept. It is located opposite the airport entrance but to get there takes about 30 minutes by taxi because of the heavy traffic. Anyway a good place for one night.

As my plane was in the morning at 7 am i needed a place close to the airport. Dee G.H is not as close as mentioned as one has to drive all the way around to get to the airport. The place was not easy to find either. However it is a clean place, lovely dorm and a nice hot shower. People were very friendly and helpful but they were not albe to book a taxi for me at 5 am. I was very lucky to find one, as the street was empty at that time. So book a taxi ahead yourself

We stayed in the double bedroom. The bed was superrr comfy, we had a nice flat TV and a bunch of free stuff: our own water dispenser and kettle, cups and spoons, a box of Kleenex and even an electric mosquito repellent with extra tablets. So nice of them! :) The bathroom was shared but it was very nice and super clean. It had free toiletries, air dryer and an amazing shower with multiple shower heads. Oh, and also a bathroom scale, which was nice! The common area had a huge and comfy sofa. Free wi-fi. You could use the kitchen, which was very big, and even use the washing machine to do your laundry. The host was so nice and welcoming and she helped us in every way she could, when we were a bit lost and not able to decide where to go next. She went overboard to provide us with all kind of information, showed us maps, told us about her own experience and what she heard from former guests and she gave us lots of advises that we followed and were very happy with the outcome. We would have stayed longer if we could but the hostel was fully booked for the next night, so we had to leave. As I said, we stayed in the double room but we would have easily chosen the dorm as well, after we saw it. It's very nice and it very different from what you are used to see in a dorm. You have your own bed but put into a sort of nice cocoon with a curtain so you have a lot of privacy. Lockers available so you can keep your belongings safe. I would chose this place if you want to disconnect a bit and just rest after or before a flight, maybe use the internet to plan your next move. It is conveniently located next to the airport but quite from from everything else.…

I truly loved my stay at Dee's Guest house. The owner is super nice and quite friendly. Her son, Dee is totally adorable. I had the best sleep in my entire trip at the Guest house. The place is clean and quiet and close to the airport. A little hard to find if you don't have GPS and the taxi guys don't know the area too. They ensure you have an enjoyable stay there You can use the kitchen, lounge in the living room watching TV, play with Dee or just walk around the locality. Its 45 minutes or so depending on traffic to the city. The mall in Lapu-Lapu city is lacking but it has supermarkets and shops too. I truly did enjoy my stay here.
